Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Cubs/Mars will be on FX...for the start.
Guest Putty Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Cubs-Marlins will start on FX - I called it EDIT: actually I didn't - color me stupid
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Game Sevens are great but we get too many of them now and it's kinda ruined the magic of it...
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Congrats to the Red Sox, they deserved the victory.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Wake should Stifle the Yankee Bats I hope...
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Nomar is redeeming himself. Very much so indeed, I know i'm happy about it. Man, you should find the Yankees bullpen and put them in your avatar. Yipes, they blew this one.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Wake should Stifle the Yankee Bats I hope... It'll kill morale for the Yanks to see their bullpen blow the game again. The Red Sox have momentum and Pedro going for them...that'll be a massive dragon to slay.
iliketurtles Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Damn. This is what I get for taking a nap from 4-8 this afternoon and not remember Boston was playing. How did Burkett play? big Fan eh? I dunno I missed the first six innings It's just that I forgot the Cubs actually lost last night and the game was at 8:00 EST. Oh well, it's not like this wasn't Game 7.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Boone reminds me off Ryan from "THE O.C"
Cartman Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Cubs-Marlins will start on FX - I called it EDIT: actually I didn't - color me stupid I called it
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 How awesome is the setup for tomorrow? Roger Clemens is starting, in Yankee Stadium, against the Red Sox. He's retiring after the season, so if the Red Sox win, Clemens' career is over. So Clemens is literally PUTTING HIS CAREER ON THE LINE against the Sox.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I agree they deserve the victory tonight. They've played this game like they belonged in the playoffs and that's how they played the majority of the season. Also nice to see the Yankee "loyals" heading for the exits. Not likely they'll come back, but didn't any of them see what happened last night? After that inning, I don't think anything's impossible. In regards to the Cubs' fan, after having a day to consider everything and cool off a bit, I actually feel pretty sorry for him. The guy is obviously a nice guy and didn't do it to screw the Cubs over. I just wish they could've let it go and moved on. I think Alou had the ball but that's neither here nor there. Everything that's gone down isn't important, it's all about the next nine innings of ball.

Yea its a great story, I just feel too damn passionate about seeing the Sox lose.
Cartman Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 ...Remember Sox fans...this game still isn't over yet.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Whoever scripts MLB needs a fucking raise.

The Cubs should take solace in the fact they have Wood throwing for him. He's been the most reliable pitcher in these playoffs...but I coulda said that about Prior yesterday.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Oh please. The curse effects the WORLD SERIES. The Championship Series has a reverse effect. Just look at the 86 ALCS.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Whoever scripts MLB needs a fucking raise. Fuck that, I just shaved a strong 10 years off my lifespan with these last inning games.

Just look at the 86 ALCS. I don't know if the Sox could beat the Cubs or Marlins....those teams have played much much better than the Yanks.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 at least he caught the damn ball first

The Marlins pitching has been very suspect and Chicago put LOTSA runs on them and they aren't really a hitting team like BoSox are...
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 And could the timing have been any better?
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Amazing...The Baseball gods have been FEELING it this year.
