I can't go to any fucking family gathering without my wrestling interest coming up and all of these "holier than thou" Christians are like "Eww, wrestling is horrible!" I then ask when they've ever watched it and the response usually is something like "I dont' need to subject myself to that, I know what it's all about." All I know is that it pisses me off. I suppose both Vinces (McMahon and Russo) can be held accountable for this, but a lot of people I know who I described above seem to still live in this little world where wrestling is like it was in the 80's where most of the stars were big, sweaty guys. All the other sports are televised in some form somewhere but I don't think I've ever seen dogfighting on tv. So the people they surveyed must all belong to PETA. And theres no way NASCAR is #8 if its more popular than Baseball, Basketball and Hockey right now. I think Football is the only other American sport thats more popular than NASCAR. That's 50 people for, 950 against. To extend that, Friends is considered Americas most popular show with about 20-25 mil people watching each week... that's only 10%... Even at the heights of its mainstream popularity, the general public still shit all over it. I really want to know how the question was posed. Surveys and their results can be skewed and twisted so much it's not even funny. I'm also wondering how dogfighting makes the list of hated spectator sports but cockfighting doesn't. Wrestling is worked, and while everyone knows that, they don't know the cleverness that goes behind it. A lot of people still see it as steroid using freaks pretending to punch each other. They do like this. 2 basketball games are on. 20 million watch the Lakers/Sacramento. 15 Million watch The Spurs TImeberwolves. 25 million people watch the Daytona 500 and they say "WHOOO WE BEAT EVERYONE" No...you didn't.
