2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 RVD is too small with his muscles to be a world champion, cause we all know big men make the best world champions. Well...as long as we ignore HBK, Angle, Hitman, Rock, and Austin who aren't exactly the biggest men in the world. wait...what was my original point?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Not a MONSTER but compared to recent numbers it was pretty good...

Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Do you think WWE will try and give some MEANING to this title now, because I really haven't been all that interested in the title just now.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 The thing about size is that it's all about how you are portrayed...not how big you actually are. Like...Jericho never would have made World Champion if they'd have brought him in as a cruiserwieght. Similarly...RVD has never been portrayed as small...and in fact has stood toe to toe with the biggest men on the roster many times.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Do you think WWE will try and give some MEANING to this title now, because I really haven't been all that interested in the title just now. I think they will...until HHH comes back. They need that title to mean something because I'll bet RVD's defending it in themain event of 90% of house shows since Goldberg works a light schedule. Although...thoughts of how important they made Rey Jrs. Cruisertitle win look one week...then curtain jerking a 4 minute rematch the next week... well...I'm not confident about it. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 I'd see it might just be fun to have a champion who wants to fight for the belt and not talk about it. Whatever happened to the quiet warrior? The guy who just WANTS the belt and if you want it, come and get it.
NYU 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 That mini feud involved the best RVD booked segment in his WWE tenure. The show after RVD almost beat Jericho...Jericho cuts a promo and RVD comes out to interupt with a mic... and instead of trading words...he just jumps in the ring and kicks the crap out of Jericho. That feud really needed Jericho winning the rematch that never happened. But...RVD wreslting Test as the curtain jerker match and Jerhico going against ROCK...or Austin...I can't remember...again while never mentioning the RVD incident again was the natural progression of the fued. ... Right? Well, Barron believes so. Yet of course, we ALL know the feud was dropped on the night God returned to professional wrestling. But nah....no conspiracy here. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Bret Hart's first title reign was the model for what they should do with RVD. Now...NO I AM NOT SAYING RVD IS A GOOD WORKER... but he's over based almost completely on what he does in the ring...cause that's all he does. Just have him defend the title all the time...have JR call him the "Fighting Champion" No promo's needed. It's actually the way I would have booked a Benoit World title run if it ever came up. But nah....no conspiracy here. Wait- HHH actually returned on January 3rd????? Could've fooled me. The feud was dropped on JANUARY 3RD. HHH returned on JANUARY 7th. Had HHH retorn his quad in between the 3rd-7th- It would've still been Y2J v. The Rock.

RVD seems to have defeated Jerhico, geting a ridiculously large pop out of the crowd....then wrestles in a tag match on Smackdown... Then curtain jerks with TEST... ... Y..yeah, I'm not getting how exactly that fued is over. Are we saying that the DQ finish on the Raw before was a blow off for the fued for the TITLE?
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 There was no official 100% blowoff THIS FEUD IS OVER BAH GAWD. Just like how Big Show v. Brock Lesnar has never officially ended either

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 WWE chose to continue the feud after Judgement Day and they never had the official this is it no more blowoff. RVD v. Jericho wasn't even a real feud to begin with. The last time they had any sort of interaction or were both involved in the decision was sometime in December. Again- a long time before HHH came back
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 I find it funny that the RVD haters keep coming up with the same old tired arguments, and bps, while admitting all RVD's faults and being very diplomatic about the matter, provided strong arguments. Really now, until Trips comes back, the World Champion isn't going to be working house shows, and Raw NEEDS a strong house show draw. So basically, RVD is going to be forced to be headlining house shows most of the time until Trips comes back. Still, having 1 1/2 "top stars" on your show is pathetic. Who else is going to fill the void? RVD? Jericho? Venis? Oh yeah, Mark Henry.
Guest thrall585 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 RVD and Goldberg remind me of the British Bulldog and the Ultimate Warrior in 1992, I have a feeling they will both be getting fired soon. HHH can give Orton his spot in retiring Goldberg, where Orton is the one who takes out Goldberg for good so he gets paid 100,000 and add another legend to his legend killer list, and he can also take Goldberg's title. Then Orton and HHH can feud with Jericho and maybe Mick Foley (his book tour is over I think, so he can get in shape and come back again).
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Last time I checked, they convinced Goldberg to work house shows though. Rock had one non title match with Eddy on RAW...other than that I don't remember. Taker didn't work every week on the count of the roster split and having a feud with one show while cutting a promo on the other. Hogan obviously didn't... I'm pretty sure Rock / Guerrero was for the title. Rock also defended it against Chris Benoit and HHH. Taker feuded with HHH and defended the title against RVD, Jeff Hardy, and Kurt Angle. Hogan feuded with Undertaker and defended the title against Ric Flair, William Regal, and Chris Jericho.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 No- Rock v. Eddy was non-title. Had Eddy won- the next week they would fight for the title
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 It'd also be a nice change of pace, the WWF hasn't had a champion this athletic and dynamic since the days of HBK. Shawn could put on good non-ladder matches too, you know.
Guest JMA Report post Posted September 30, 2003 "RVD selled good"? I should've said "sold." Big deal. Anyway... RVD's inepititude in the ring hardly affects my ego, personally. If it does for you, so be it. Actually, what I said was that you had to "get your ego in check." You seem to think you're never wrong (and I'm not the only one who thinks this). And when a large group disagrees with you you seem to think they're all acting like sheep. Or, in this case, "RVD fanboys." "Oooh, I hurt, I hurt --- now I'll jump the top rope and splash you --- now I'm hurting again". My God, I've seen Tanaka/Awesome with better selling. What did you want from them? To lay on the mat holding their sides for several minutes?
KTID 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 I don't even argue with these "anti-RVD" guys. There's just no point whatsoever, and I suggest everyone else stop right now. If you just ignore them, they'll go away.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 TheMikeSC is full of shit. Yup, just as the sky is blue and the rain makes the green grass grow. BUT.... Since coming to the WWE over 2 years ago...when has RVD been in a main event match and NOT gotten the crowd into it and loud as hell? King Of The Ring final vs Brock. And yeah, Brock was making people sit on their hands at the time but Rock had them going from the word go just after that.

And yeah, Brock was making people sit on their hands at the time but Rock had them going from the word go just after that. Nah, correction. Brock had a fan reaction starting from SummerSlam, which wasn't even the reaction he was LOOKING to get. Even before that, when they were building the feud up, Brock got nothing. After the Brock-Super Push from Hell, I never ever want to hear WWE say again that they don't choose who gets pushed; the fans do. Never had someone going for the title got such a lack of reaction. And the apathy at King of the Ring for RVD/Brock, though I DO remember there being some considerable support for RVD, would be placed on Brock. RVD had a heat-filled match with Jericho just minutes earlier, while Brock had a pretty much dead match with Test. Who then could be attributed to the dead crowd, if there was one ? NYU 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Shane is over and can't wrestle just like RVD, maybe he should win the title too Oh, please, don't doubt it for a second. If he can kick Kane's ass like he did at Unforgiven, they would surely have him beat Fuck Goldberg for the title sometime. It sounds unbelievable now, but who would have EVER thought they'd wind up giving the title to Vince McMahon at one point ?
Guest thrall585 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Maybe Lita should win the world title too, she is over huge and also can't wrestle.

KTID 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 People, there's a BIG difference between someone who gets pops (Lita, Funaki etc.) and someone who the fans actually care about (RVD, for instance).
NYU 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2003 Well, women's title soon enough. Trish is going through the ultimate depush, so someone will have to get the title off Molly. Here comes Lita. And obviously we can't forget the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION of Raw, who may be the worst offender yet. Not only can Goldberg NOT wrestle, but he doesn't even like what he does. Pathetic...
