the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 Quick idea if you want to speed up the draft a little, if you want. Pair everyone off with someone else and send them a list of 3-4 people in order that you want, so it is twice as likely that someone is on. You just have to trust the person to make the pick you want. If you send it to them after their pick then you will get 2 picks before they pick again, so I don't see much strategy ruining happening there. Pick 1 sends their list to pick 9, and vice versa 2 with 10 3 with 11 etc. etc. That way everyone is even with 8 spaces between your partner.

Only downside to this though is say I want a Center in the next round so I list 2 C's at #1 and #2 in case one of them gets picked. However if I get my #1, I wouldn't want my #2 in the next round but he'd still get picked for me.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 I am sure it would be simple enough to qualify in your PM. Just mention that you don't want two of the same position.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 Im beginning to believe that this should have been a live draft.. If you can get close to 20 people to do a 16 round draft for football you can get 16 people to do a 9 round draft for basketball. FOR CHRIST'S SAKES~! As for the football draft, excuse me. But last I remembered, about 6 missed the draft of the SmartMarks draft. And 5 of them had said they wouldn't be able to be there because of that. The other one was just a dumbass and forgot, but still would've missed round one regardless. And I might add that for the NHL draft (for Smart Marks) that it was horribly flawed because the draft happened so early that people couldn't draft certain stars (Hasek) and certain things couldn't play out in time (Comrie), and most of them were decided by auto-drafting. Lucky it ended up well balanced (Edit: And I swear that's just a fluke). Besides, we've got till the 28th of October here people. Does it really matter that this is taking time? Is the league going to suddenly decide that October 28th is not the greatest starting time and bump it up a whole two weeks on us out of nowhere? Geezus... I mean, yes, I'll pick on people, but that's only because I'm joking. I don't really care if this is fast or slow. It's not like it's taking YEARS here between picks. Besides, the later rounds will blitz by as people will have more or less what they want and trying to wrap up nice prospectual canidates or take some risks. We've got till October 27th. Are you saying that with twenty days to work with, we won't finish this draft in time? We're already into Round Three. Looks like we are doing quite fine.
