the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 I thought it was set up that whoever had the most points would win the game. Isn't that why you assigned all those point values to stats. As for the 1-0 vs. 4-3 arguement I would prefer just you either win or lose, no winning each stat category. It is easier to track, plus it limits the damage in case some teams decide to quit and give 7-0 wins to the teams who face them late in the season. As opposed to those teams who faced them when they were still playing.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 I agree, I'd much prefer the 1-0 system rather then the 7-0. Just seems easier standings wise too.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 I like the hockey scoring system, its more less a weekly roto league with the win, lose, tie for the stats. 6-7-4 Baby!

At least that's what the original rules stat. Personally, I want to play it so you just have to kick the crap out of my said opponent. Not get lucky and land a 7-0 and basically fuck everyone over as I jump out to a great start. It says that you beat the person if you get the most statistical categories, but in the NHL Smarks League, I know this isn't true. As I beat the Leafs (my opponents) with a 9-7-1 record and ended up with that as my recorded. Not just 1-0-0. Oh bloody hell... *just finished reading rules regarding Head-To-Head* It's the exact same for weekly. Dammit. That means we get stuck with the 7 "games" winning strat. 147 "games" leaves a lot of room for err. I mean, you'd have to have everyone get a lot of 5-2, 5-1-1, 4-3-0, 4-2-1 combos to make it look even close.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 With the Head 2 Head league rule it will be exciting because on any given sunday........er week the team can win. There will be no major blowouts unless the opponet's team is full of scrubs who only play 2 minutes a game or are injuried. The match ups will be naturally competitive, there will be no reason to give up because there is always hope. I petty the fool who gives up.

I'll fiddle with the league as soon as the draft is completed and see if I can't get it working to the way we wanted it. If I can, that'll be great. If not, it's 7 "games" per week. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Hm...is it possible to add every possible stat? That'd be kinda weird yet neat to see! Example: Whoo! I'm leading the league in Turnover:Assist ratio!
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted October 15, 2003 but for the love of god take all the foul categories off. I don't want to get stuck with a "loss" because one of my guys fouls out, you know?
Sandman9000 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Give 5,000 points per technical and 6,000,000,000 per suspension, either league or team mandated. I'll win easily, thanks to Artest.

Um... Actually, right now I've only got FGM, FTM, 3PM, PTS, RB, BLK, ST. Until I know otherwise, that's all I'm having.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 And thankfully, I might get to pick up the guy I had in mind this pick. Unless Dawn picks him. And then I'm going to kick myself for picking Morrison.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted October 16, 2003 I'm in favor of the Head 2 Head league rule as well, it sounds like it'd result in the best competition. On a random note, I am shocked Mike Miller was still available this late in the draft.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 On a random note, I am shocked Mike Miller was still available this late in the draft. What can I say, I do my homework when I am picking. I was even more surprised that Pacer fanboy Alfdogg let Al Harrington slip to me this late as well. I was all set to pick up some other guys and lo and behold, Harrington and Miller were still not picked.

I was all set to pick up some other guys and lo and behold, Harrington and Miller were still not picked. I think the reasoning some people got missed is because a lot of people went with certain categories (as did I), or needed to pick up some roleplayers in the final rounds. Oh and I like head-to-head, but I'd prefer just kicking the shit out my opponent for a single win. Not hoping to God I steal a 5-2 victory.

I figure Larry Brown is smart enough to stick with him after the nice playoffs he had.
