Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Dajuan Wagner and Derek Anderson have both been activated, i'll wait a while to see if they perform, but if they do i have to work out who i'm going to figure out who to drop/trade. Jarvis Hayes will be the first to go, but after that things get tricky, everyone else contributes something that i can't afford to get rid of easily.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Tough decisions to be made. I myself made a few dumb mistakes in the public league like keeping Troy Murphy and dumping Tayshaun Prince then dumping Murphy for Brian Cardinal. I am thinking about getting rid of Devan George for a FA like Jarvis Haynes, Arroyo, Maurice Taylor, Gill.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 10, 2004 The Era of Gordon Giricek on Team Failure~! has ended, as Amare Stoudemire finally came back tonight. So yes, if anyone wants an inconsistent 3 point shooter who one night will score 2 points then go for 25 the next 2 games, he's your man. Makes a mean pasta too. razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Sounds alot like Eric Williams to me, I only keep him for his FTs right now until I can find someone better. Or like Etan Thomas who will get 25 minutes one game then 12 minutes the next night because Kwame Brown is having a good game. Or Drew Gooden who would get a double double the night I bench him and on the times I start him he does nothing.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Derek Anderson puts up 19 points in 17 minutes in his return game (or maybe his second back, i don't know), that's good enough for me to bring him off IL. Jarvis Hayes has one more game for me tomorrow, then unless i swing a trade or have a change of heart Hayes goes back to the free agent pool.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted January 10, 2004 speaking of horribly streaky players, I'm looking to trade Van Exel to make space for my returning all-stars who will totally destroy you in the second half of the year.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 If anybody wants to trade a center send me an offer.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Stromile Swift is also frustrating for me. He had 15 points and like 12 boards and 5 blocks a few weeks back in 20 minutes of play and always contributes pretty large when he gets a chance to play. But they play him on average about 20 to 25 minutes a night. God dammit, I demand Stromile minutes and I demand them now.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 (edited) That's the same problem i had with Stromile when i had him. He'd bounce between putting up good numbers one game and playing 5 minutes in the next until i just had to drop his ass. EDIT: And i'll probably make a couple of trade offers to some people sometime soon, depending if i can be bothered or not. Feel free to make offers for any of my players, even Kevin Garnett, though it'd have to be one sweet fuckin' deal for me to consider parting with him. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 That's the problem with everyone on the Grizzlies, exceptions being Williams, Gasol and possibly Battier. Inconsistent minutes. Well, that and FUCKING SNOW CANCELLATIONS. I have two Grizzlies on my team in Slim Citrus' league (Swift being one of them).
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Cuban should have named his team "Better than Atlanta." Or maybe "Better than Washington."
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Cuban should have named his team "Better than Atlanta." Or maybe "Better than Washington." Oh now! Was that really necessary? Mocking the man is one thing but raping him of his pride with the Better Than Atlanta tag is taking it too far. It's true but still unnecessary.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Utah are only a .514 team, while i have a .550 win %. It's closer than i anticipated, but i'm still 'Better than Utah'. For now anyway.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 I feel stupid for dropping Derek Anderson back in that trade for PJ Brown. The good news is that just after that trade I picked up Marcus Camby who's having a decent little season so far. 8 Blocks last night... And with Stoudemire back playing in Phoenix, I was worried that Joe Johnson might get pushed off to the side but that trade helped his cause out and maybe I wont have to worry about dumping him. I was going to dump Johnson when Wade comes back, but it looks like I might end up dumping Raja Bell.
Guest Just J Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Well it's been a good week raz. But I think you'll get me 5-3. Congrats! I'm coming after The Whaler's next week. WHo's that?

razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Well I got rid of Eric Williams for Kwame Brown so now I can have 3 of each position and a headache for the next few games.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 I think I got Raz next week, which should be interesting..
Guest Just J Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Carmelo Anthony > Labron James Now that's funny. But my problem this week was Kobe and Lebron didn't play enough games. Once again that fucks me. Get rid of the stickman Shawn Bradley. I did take your advise on this but Lateneir(sp?) was the best grab out there. Which is very sad.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 I see 2 good shot blockers that are on the FA list, remember points is not everything. Paul Pierce & Cassell had a great week and is the real reason why I am better than the SHIT.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 12, 2004 Matt Harpring is done for the season. And so, Better Than Utah will save face because they will not be able to stay above 500. without him. You love that Stromile Swift scored 23 points in 18 minutes. What the FUCK, if a man scores 23 points in 18 minutes ,I'm keeping his ass in the game. NO fouls btw, so that wasn't a factor. Oy.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2004 Matt Harpring is done for the season. And so, Better Than Utah will save face because they will not be able to stay above 500. without him. Saw it coming. Dropped him last week in favor of Doug Christie.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted January 12, 2004 A part of me wanted to post Yinka Dare done for the season, but that woulda been in poor taste. And not made a lot of sense, seeing as how he's been out of the league for like 2 years but whatever.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2004 Fuck Bender, he goes from 2-4 weeks at the beginning of the season, and here it is the middle of January and he STILL has no timetable for his return. So, I have officially given up on him in this league.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2004 The injury prone players of Gilbert Arenas, Dewayne Wade, Troy Murphy in my opinion are lost causes. I got rid of 2 of them already in other leagues with only Arenas on the Injury List. I picked up their replacements of Cardinal and Rafer both of which are doing just as good as the injured......so who needs them.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2004 I wouldn't say Wade is a lost cause. This is his first injury of the season, whereas this will be Arenas' third trip to the IL. We don't know if Wade's injury is recurring. Murphy's stats aren't quite on par with last season's, but some guys just need more time to shake off rust. razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2004 Wade has missed several games with a hand/wrist injury this season, only recently has the team put him on IL. I guess both Arenas and Murphy rushed the return before they could fully heal.
