Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 8, 2004 I officially went down statistically tonight. 3 of my guys to his 6 does not equal a winning chance, although I can possibly make it up tomorrow if everyone produces. VERY nice of Amare Stoudemire to throw 10 shots into the bleachers in one game, as I think I can win 3 pointers, blocks and steals but everything else is in serious doubt. razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 Your players should be in foul trouble 3 pointers is one stat that I just have to give up on, unless Cassell and Alton channel the spirit of Chuck Person or Dan Marlie I have no chance at winning that stat. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 (edited) One day left, and i can win anywhere from five to all eight stats. I doubt i'll win 3 pointers, but i'm tied in steals and down two in blocks, fortunately Ray Allen (provided he plays, and with my luck he won't) is there to provide the steals, Dalembert the blocks, and Garnett to give me a serving of both. Here's hoping a 7-1 victory is on the cards. Stackhouse continues to perform since returning with 19 points and 11 assists, my team is much better with him around. Arroyo giving me 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists certainly helps me forget giving up Claxton as well. I really think I got the better of the deal in that Ray Allen and whomever I got (cause I think I traded most of them away) trade. I became a team on a mission. While, um... Ray just kinda does you nothing every now and then. Think I might have a very far off chance of making top 6 if my team continues on its 6-2, 7-1, and 8-0 winning ways. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 Overall i think the Ray Allen for Jason Terry-Glenn Robinson-Tim Thomas trade has worked out pretty well for both of us, before the trade my team was dying and sinking down the ladder fast but is now right back in the playoff picture, and your team is climbing up from the bottom fast as well. The current injury to Ray Allen could screw things up a bit, but when he's there Allen and Garnett have me covered great in every stat, and with Q-Rich, K-Mart and Stack backing them up my team has been looking quite good lately. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 Still not fast enough for my liking. I won't make the playoffs of 1-6 (and if I do, woo boy, that would be awesomeness), but I at least can foresee myself making it to the 7-12 and dominating there. I just need a good centre. That's all I can ask for.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Well i needed steals and blocks and my team comes through, Dalembert picking up 6 blocks and Derek Anderson nabbing 5 steals to give me a 7-1 win. Unfortunately i lose three pointers. I finished with 35 3-pointers, which kills everyone else in the league except for my opponent, who looks to finish with 51 in one week, and that's with leaving another 12 Mike Bibby/Drew Gooden 3's on the bench over the week, not to mention having Allan Houston on IL cost him even more. Still, it looks good for my team when the only way they lose a stat is the other team going completely insane with long distance bombs, 63 in one week is more than a few teams in the league will do in over a month. razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Hey I don't need 3 pointers when I go to the line 120 times in a week.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I think I lost 5-2-1 damnit, my first tie.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I'm dissapointed to see Speedy Claxton picked up, i was hoping he'd stay a free agent for a while longer until the Van Exel situation is cleared so i could pick him back up again, though i guess Arroyo is a decent enough bench player for me. It also appears Eddy Curry might have finally dug his head out of his ass and started performing like he should, breaking 20 points in 4 of the last 5 games, with decent rebounding averages as well. A shame he couldn't do it when he was on my team. Victory looks pretty certain in my matchup, so i'll be moving at least one position closer to the top 6 and the playoffs. Bwa ha ha. Speedy is mine.... Nice to see Kwame Brown finally doing something. 20 and 10 tonight. I've got five people who only play guard, a G/F, one F, and two F/C's. I need to dump a guard into either a G/F or an F. I just offered up Jalen Rose who is a G/F for Damon Stoudamire.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 9, 2004 So how does this week work? No games on Friday through Monday obviously. Same as usual with just 4 days I'd guess. But yes, Dikembe Mutombo is productive still and that scares me. Think i'm going 4/4 with the Guerreroes. Not bad, I knotted up the best in the league. This week basically consists of the games monday - thursday, and there aren't a lot of games to be played. Some teams only play 1 game, a lot of teams play 2 and there might be a team or two that play 3 games. I don't have any 3 game players, most of my guys have 2 games though so its good. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 There are no 3 game teams next week i believe, everyone plays two other than Atlanta, Indiana, New Orleans, Orlando, Philadelphia and San Antonio who all play one. The 7-1 win jumps me up past Pogo The Monkey and Team Failure into the top 6 and the playoff spot that goes with it, and the next team above me is the SHIT who i face this week, so hopefully my team can kep on going strong. Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I want to make some trades, but I'm pretty much gonna run down to the deadline because A. waiting to see if Webber is coming back next week B. waiting to see where Van Exel winds up
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I think Chris Webber's knee retired without telling anyone. I'm stuck back down in the 7 spot. Hopefully the SHIT and Cuban's team murder one another respectively and allow me to sneak back into the top 6. Antonio Davis is still on the trading block for anyone curious. razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I think Chris Webber is playing poker with Grant Hill, Olokandi, Wally Szyberic, Troy Murphy. The odds that any of these players coming back this month is like trying to out bluff someone with pocket deuces.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted February 9, 2004 well the current rumor is he will come back a few days after the all star break. Of course he was supposed to come back in December. Keep in mind I used the 10th pick in the draft on this pud. hell I may not even keep his ass. Maybe Marshall took his spot while he was sitting around in street clothes. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 Kelvin Cato is putting up bigger stats, but I'm willing to risk trading him for Webber.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 I'd trade Keon Clark, his compadre on injured reserve, for him.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted February 10, 2004 let's play How Did I Draft? 1. Webber - hurt all year 2. Mashburn - hurt till a few weeks ago 3. Crawford - god only knows what his deal is 4. Miller - suddenly good 5. Van Exel - hurt most of year 6. Olowakandi - got hurt, yet to come back 7. PJ Brown - traded for Z 8. Marshall - holy fuck 9. Coleman - got hurt, never plays honorable mention to wavier wire IR residents Keon Clark and Wally Szerbiack and a big thanks to whoever dropped Odom for saving me from shitty drafting
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 I had originally drafted Clark, dropped him, and picked him up again to place him on the IR.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 So Stephen Jackson has been ON FIRE scoring wise lately. Any chance the trade for 'Sheed will change this in any way?
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 10, 2004 Larry Hughes is out 4 to 6 weeks according to Espnews and Kurt Thomas could be done for a month if he indeed needs surgery on his pinky finger. Bonzi wells also may have hurt his knee pretty badly last night, went down in the first and did not return. As far as Jackson goes, he'll still get his most likely, although if Sheed goes perimeter happy, it's gonna be a bit more clogged out there on the 3 point line, Rahim knew to stay down low a lot but Wallace falls in love with his 3 pointer sometimes. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 let's play How Did I Draft? ...*snip* Hey. At least you still have some of your original team. I've traded away my team at least five times over now.

Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted February 11, 2004 I've got to join up with some good guys next year for a league. I'm in 2 leagues, and in 1st and 2nd in them respectively, but only 2 or 3 guys are active (12 in each league I believe). So it's really pointless. I've got two great teams though. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Hey Oct, if we are doing this next year (which, the general census is, yes we will be, and not having a draft as wacky as this year's was), your happy to join us. I don't think people will mind so much, since it'll divert the pool even more and make it more convoluted.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted February 11, 2004 That'd be great. I think I've only experienced one or two all around active fantasty leagues in all sports since I've been doing these. It's pretty sad, heh.
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 My league gets pretty decent activity, at least compared to the other leagues I'm in. It's mostly me and my friends, and some people that my friends know, but there's a couple of guys from the board in it. But, uhm, yeah... active leagues are always better.
