Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 I'm so frustrated, Gwanju White Tigers isn't active and I might lose a shot at getting into the playoffs because of it. Might be consolation, but I've been fighting hard all season to redeem my team. I'm NOT happy about that.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Ok, so everything wasnt as bad as it looked like it would be. I got 60 rebounds (Davis 10, Brown 12 Howard 15 Camby 18 primary contributors) to White Tigers 19, so Im up 42 rebounds. White Tigers scored 91 points to my 85 points, so Im only down in that category by 3. I have the lead in Rebounds (88-36), blocks (6-2), Steals (13-11), Assists (34-31), FG (57-52) Im trailing Points (154-151), FT (36-33) and 3pts (11-1) Baring some sort of breakdown I should probably win 7-1 (losing only 3 pointers). I've also realized that a Team Failure squash of Better than Utah means BTU would fall to 6th place and I could actually pass BTU. If BTU loses 8-0 (currently losing 7-1) and I win 7-1 (currently winning 5-3), then I would only be 4 1/2 games behind BTU. Next week I go 8-0, BTU goes 3-5 and I would make the playoffs. So I have a bit of hope.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 except you play me next week. So, If I need to win 8-0 next week to make the playoffs, I will.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Looks like my team is fizzling at the worst time. Q-Rich is injured for about the 5th or so time this season, Dalembert, Butler and Szczerbiak are giving me nothing at all, and my team has stopped shooting threes and passing altogether. Not only is my team stinking it up this week, but i'm at a 17-13 games played disadvantage for the rest of the week, so i'm looking at an 8-0 or 7-1 loss. Looks like the battle for the final playoff spot will come down to the last week.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Myself I KNOW I'm good for an 8-0, 7-1 win over both my next opponents. Problem is, I need all bottom feeding teams to BE bottom feeders. Because I can't get that last consolation place alone. Come on now bottom feeders, just start to choke and I'll be happy. Except Gwanju, I want you to not win as many games as you are because you are screwing me out of 12th.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Well my team has finally started doing what I thought they would do from the beginning, better late than never. Amare has finally asserted himself as the next lord and master of power fowards not named Kevin Garnett (witness the absolute bitch slapping of K-Mart awhile back) and everyone else is just very well rounded on my team. I don't really have anyone who can get 50 but I have 8 or so guys who can get 20 and 6+ on every other stat, so I'm good to go.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Just in time for my critical matchup with Flik, Karl Malone returns.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I picked up the points category, but I have no chance at anything better than 7-1 since Im down big in the 3 pointers, unless Dirk and Baron start hitting some serious 3s over the next 3 days.
Sandman9000 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I think I can safely say that the massive trade me and Alfdogg made has benefitted me moreso than him. Sorry bud. Provided I don't collapse against Pogo this week and SHIT next week, I'm in the playoffs in either 11 or 12. Unless Pogo goes 0-16 the next two weeks, I can't get any higher. Hurry the fuck up and heal Speedy, I need all nine people these coming up weeks. EDIT: On that note, has Pogo given up? He had 19-7-3 from Jim Jackson on the bench, and I don't think he's changed his line-up this week?
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 (edited) I've listed both Pogo The Monkey and Gwangju White Tigers as inactive. I haven't see either team play freaking consistantly for a while. [sarcasm]And shit to Karl Malone showing up. This ruins everything in me making the playoffs.[/sarcasm] My team's still going to kick your ass Al. [sarcasm]And shit to Karl Malone showing up. This ruins everything in me making the playoffs.[/sarcasm] My team's still going to kick your ass Al. White Tigers is actually active. Dumped Shawn Bradley and moved T-Mac to the bench (where I hope he'll stay...) for some unknown reason.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Oh? So he actually moved someone. Still doesn't make me a happy commish.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I was already down, and having no one up against Peja and Brad Miller i'm even further behind now. If anyone could potentially pull me back into things it's Kevin Garnett, though right now the best case scenario is winning steals and maybe FT's, though if Allen and KG go nuts scoring points like they can maybe i could nab FG's or something too. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Looks like Stackhouse decided to return without notice, of course happening after i dropped him. And now that i've picked him up again he'll probably not play for another few weeks just to annoy me. I've also taken a chance on Vin Baker now that he's with the Knicks. He probably won't give me much, but it's not like Caron Butler was doing anything significant anyway.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Fuck. If I knew Chris Crawford was playing the Wizards, I woulda started him, they give up 30 points to the coaching staff at this point.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Dumped Jerome Williams for Malik Rose for better defense. Besides its not like Jerome will be playing much since he only had 4 minutes tonight and Rose is back in championship form getting 14+ points and offensive rebounds. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Hey! Pocono Poison. Steal some freaking games from Alfdogg. He gets 8-0 off of ya, and I'll have to pull off the exact same feat. ...what, nevermind. Checking your stats and comparing them to my current, that shouldn't be too freaking hard (this is for next week). But I don't know if I can win enough so that I can pass both Pocono Poison and Alfdogg (which is what I'd have to do, and probably White Tigers as well). Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Reminder to all teams returning for next season: If you want keepers or take a swing at first and second round picks, you must make mention of this come this Sunday. This is a per team thing, not a league decisionary thing. Keepers were agreed upon, so let's go. And yes, Razazteca, I know you are keeping. Just make mention of who you are still in deciding on which they'll take. Also, were you are at the end of the regular season determines where you'll be position in the 2004-05 draft. So if you say, have first place like Razazteca, you will be 16th in ALL rounds. No serpentine drafting, straight up, offline drafting. Just a healthy reminder to everyone. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I forget how many keepers were having, but i'm taking the keeper option for sure. Kevin Garnett stays with me until grim death, and if it's two keepers Ray Allen stays on board as well. I doubt i could draft a pair in the first 2 rounds better than Garnett/Allen anyway, and not taking the picks at least stops me from doing something stupid like taking Jason Terry in the 2nd round. I don't know what i was thinking there. EDIT: And my luck continues to sink down the drain, as Kenyon Martin sprains his ankle. If he misses any time, then in the space of two weeks i'll probably go from a possible top 3 finish to missing the playoffs altogether. At least Q-Rich is back, though typically his 25 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals were squandered on my bench
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 (edited) It is two keepers you get to keep. Edit: For the record, I'm retaining two keepers as well. I'm still trying to decide between the three I have locked down as the ones I want. Edited March 13, 2004 by Lightning Flik

Isn't this a tad bit early to decide upon keepers? Most fantasy leagues I've heard of don't decide keepers until a month before the next season starts?
