Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 I just paid it a compliment. Still, it's by an awful band. Where is the Love? You only said it was tolerable. Anyway, they have another song, Weekend (I believe) where they jack the beat from Family Affair by Sly and the Family Stone...again, that song rules too. Either than that, I concur, they are pretty poor.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Anyway, "Victoria," by the Kinks, may be the greatest song ever. I don't see any point in arguing this.

Do It by Death from Above takes it. Incorrect. The Fall did a cover of "Victoria" back in '86, which was a hit for them in the UK. The Fall is a good band, but they have no business carrying that song's jock.
Kinetic Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Agreed. When I saw the Fall a few months ago, I was hoping they'd play that song so I could heckle Mark E. Smith and possibly get thrown down a flight of stairs. EDIT: This is obviously in reference to Incandenza's post.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Fuck you all, Do It is the greatest song.

"Victoria" is so obviously perfect. Oh, and I'm Mark E. Smith on Friendster. Wanna be his (my) pal?
Kinetic Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Oh, and I'm Mark E. Smith on Friendster. Wanna be his (my) pal? Shit, yeah.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Banky Edwards can't read.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Two things: 1. I really, really hate this song now. 2. Does Banky still think Death From Above is responsible for the greatest song ever?
alfdogg Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 1. I really, really hate this song now. Everyone who watched the NBA playoffs last year would agree with this statement.
Ted the Poster Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Or those with any musical taste at all.

k thx Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 I love the idea that Inc pretends to be Mark E Smith to get strangers on the internet to be friends with him. That is the indiest thing ever.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Tits are the best asses.
Nighthawk Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I love how shallow your musical tastes are.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 "Victoria" is still the best song extant, so it's great that some things never change.
Sass Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I've been subjected to hearing this song whenever the Lakers played. Goddamn, the song got atrocious after a while. I never liked it to begin with either.
