Recommended Posts

most surely release date: January 13th

Fangoria reported the January 13th date, but they took it out of their site.

Details will probably be announced within this month, i've read:

- 2 disc set!

- Deleted scenes

- Commentary with Yu

- Commentary with Englund & Ken!

- Documentaries on both franchises

- More i hope

this is New Line, my favorite studio for DVDs, so i'm sure this will be excellent.

Can't wait! my favorite movie ever! weeeeeee

I was one of the few people who actually bought Jason X, so I'll definitely be picking this up. New Line's Platinum Series DVDs usually kick ass.

another thing, some of the specs i gave were given by Ronnie Yu in an interview, he was the one who mentioned the commentary with Englund and Kirzinger(Sp?)

um...ok

It's a recent film being released in the now standard for any decent release 2-disc format. Why on earth are you treating it as some shocking news about a old out of print movie getting it's first major Video release in 10 years.

yeah, I got Jason X for 5 bucks. Worth it for the few scenes of humor.

I want this now! I never saw any of their movies til this one, but I liked it a lot. I bought Jason X (got it at the right price) and the first Nightmare since, and I watched that Nightmare yesterday... good stuff. I originally heard February, but glad it may be sooner!

Regardless, I loved this movie, my favorite film from BOTH series, so I'll snag it ASAP.

Personally, I thought they would have tried to rush it for a Halloween release, but if 1/13 is a Friday, it makes more sense.

Probably the best horror movie I've seen this year, not for the scares but for the great battle scenes. I'm definitly gonna rent it.

It's still being premiered in other parts of the world.

Yeah, the backstory helped for me too. I'd only seen 2 Freddy movies (no Jason's) before seeing FvJ.

This movie is WAY overrated, and I bought

Jason X, which I think was was better this,

and Cabin Fever and 28 Days Later were way

better.

Jason X was cheesy fun, but in no way was it better than FvsJ.

28 Days Later was a completely different type of movie, than FvsJ was. Therefore you shouldn't be trying to compare them to each other.

Exactly. 28 Days Later was a serious film, an homage to Romero's work (specifically The Crazies and Day Of The Dead). Freddy vs. Jason was the histories of Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees thrown together, tripping on acid, and with kung-fu.

It's actually that good?

No.

It was a lot of fun but that's about it.
