Guest Dids Report post Posted October 10, 2003 I thought that was funny as hell- am I alone? Please note- I have a huge soft spot for Paul Wright on the mic. He might suck in the ring- but he's got charisma like crazy and so does Eddy. That segment was gold!! The rest of the show blew goats. Zack Gowen is only cool if he doesn't blow spots like crazy- and he did that last night. I hope the follow up on Spanky's save to set up the Spanky/London tag team that they've had at house shows. notJames 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 Interesting that this thread should fall just above the "Lowered Expectations thread"... And yes, you are the only person who liked the end of last night's SD!. Here's a gold star: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Just kidding. You get nothing. Good day, sir. Highland 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 Seeing that picture of the Big Show makes me glad I didn't watch wrestling. Oh, and I thought Paul Wight (sp?) was a friend of Vince? With a friend that continually tries to destroy careers, who needs enemies? Seriously, this was the last thing TBS needed to have happen to him. I had really hoped he had moved beyond lame ass gimmicks. He's supposed to be a monster, just rename him as the Giant and pattern him after Andre. Bah! nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 The only positive thing that I can think about all of this is that it was Eddy that got to spray the hose. Think of it this way: Austin was the originator. Then there was Angle. Both of them were viewed - by the people behind the scenes - as major players. While I hate the fact that it's an angle based on human excrement, I'm at least a little stoked that they put Eddy in a position that follows Austin & Angle, two of the most over stars of their times. Of course, I'm waiting to get slammed for pointing out the positive, but you've got to admit the simple fact that someone in back thought enough of Eddy to have him do the Austin/Angle spraying thing is kind of cool. I'm with you there. There was nothing remotely funny about the segment (just like, IMO, there was nothing entertaining about the beer truck or the milk truck incidents...well, other than Angle throwing WHOLE milk cartons at the Alliance. That had me dying), but I did get a sort of Austin-like vibe from the whole thing, which kinda gives me the impression that they're beginning to see Eddie as a major player. Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 Austin gets beer... Angle gets milk... Eddy gets shit... Me thinks that they're starting to lose ideas for things to spray at people. They lost a big opportunity to spray HHH down with Chef Boyardee during Mankind's last run.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted October 10, 2003 I thought that was funny as hell- am I alone? Yes. Is spraying shit on someone a creative rock bottom? I'd say so.
Guest Oakster Report post Posted October 10, 2003 Austin gets beer... Angle gets milk... Eddy gets shit... Wait a minute ... if Austin drank beer and Angle drank milk, are you trying to suggest that Eddie's coming down to the ring eating shit all the time? jk
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Well, I was another who did like this angle. It was an admitted guilty pleasure however.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 I actually have Spanky and London teamed on my EWR (Heartbreak Juniors, in honor of HBK) They drew out the shit truck way too long for me to care. And they've already done the beer and milk truck...I didn't get much out of it. But I was all for Eddie closing the show.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Eddy showed his charisma standing on that Tank Truck.. That's about it... Couldn't he just launch Burritos at TBS or something?
Guest Deviant Report post Posted October 11, 2003 The t-shirt gun with burritos in it? Ok, now that's a funny mental image, mainly because I'm imagining Eddie missing and nailing some fan in the head with a burrito... I can't believe that two people who visit these boards actually liked that damn ending!
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Well I did admit it was a guilty pleasure and I'm not real proud of myself for being amused by the Eddie/Show angle. I also liked the burrito angle last week because: 1. Getting sick off bad Mexican food is realistic (it's happened to me). 2. I've often wondered what a wrestler would do if he had to shit during a match.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 11, 2003 You know, if someone came riding out on a shit truck and flat out said "I'm gonna shoot shit at you" I'd make an effort to get away.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 11, 2003 He did move...right to the direction Eddy was standing...I mean Chavo should have at least chased Show around but nope...Show just walked over there... He stood in the ring for like a minute making "no" motions then ran around to the back and STOOD there like a tool.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Hey Anglesault...I thought of one thing you should be glad about for this past Smackdown. Kurt Angle wasn't made to look like an idiot. Think about if he was still heel and replace Show with him for the end of this Smackdown. Like I try to say, "Always look on the bright side of life."
