Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Any of the fax-80's type rock bands. I can't think of any names, but I keep thinkg of The Stripes or The White Stripes or somehting like it... You mean those champions of Christian rock and the universe in general, Stryper? Also, I nominate Danko Jones. how can Stryper be faux 80's when they are from the 80's? Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 would fozzy be considered Faux 80's or just a Generic Cover Band with good cult following?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 14, 2003 The White Stripes are actually quite good and don't deserve to be lumped in with the other Garage rock bands and written off. If people actually bothered to listen to the rest of their material, they'd see they aren't a hollow band with nothing to back up their hits.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Ahem... Awesome cover band with cult following, and some damn fine retro originals (meaning they sound like they should have been released years ago).
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Oh Yes...I love Fozzy as well and I honestly believe they could be big if they went full time... 80's Rock will make a comeback and Jericho could be reborn star... To Kill a Stranger and Happenstance are EXCELLENT songs on their own...
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 I'm a big fan of "Happenstance" and "Crucify Yourself."

I'm illiterate. But I did get to make a Stryper reference, so there we go. I'd also like to add Sting to my list of nominations. He's been shitty on a greater scale for longer, which puts him ahead of Danko Jones.
River City Rocker 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 G.G. Allin. Does anyone take this guy seriously, aside from his very small cult of fans who seemed to be as sincerely fucked up as Allin himself? Will he ever be remembered as more than "the guy who shits onstage and then eats it"? I highly doubt it. Seems that his "talent" was his obvious mental illness fueled by massive substance abuse and a general hatred of everything in sight, right? Basically, a criminal psychopath who happened to record a lot of shitty punk rock, as opposed to the tough punk rocker who had more than a few run-ins with the law. Elbarto997 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Top 10 worst bands: The Beatles Aerosmith Limp Bizkit The Monkees (just fucking obnoxious) Nirvana (Kurt cannot redeem himself here) Hole (see above entry) The Ramones Limp Bizkit (they are so bad they deserve to be listed twice) The Police May fall into this list soon: Metallica 7 out of 10 of those bands suck, and Metallica??? WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 For the people dissing the Monkees, you have obviously never heard anything past what is standard of theirs to be played on the radios. I highly recommend picking up Headquarters and the soundtrack to Head. Above all, Mike Nesmith is highly underrated and underappreciated as a musician. And no one, NO ONE, can convice me otherwise that America is the worst band ever.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 i'm sure you all have heard some piss poor local bands... ...as for bands that made it "big"... ..i'd say the band known as ...ONE WAY RIDE... GOOOOOOOD LORD do they suck beyond comprehension...... they are kinda like Creed...but about a billion times worse...and THAT is saying something.
Elbarto997 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 What about Thirty Odd Foot Of Grunt??? ???
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 America is decent, and far from the worst band in existance.... that alone goes to Nirvana.

justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Well, if we're going by celebrity bands, too, then I'll have to say Dogstar.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 The credibility of music tatses of some of you is completely lost the second you consider The Beatles and The Eagles as worts band ever candidates. Maybe you cant stand those bands, but there is NO way anyone can justify saying they are Worst. Band EVER. nominees. Perfect example of the utter stupidity and bad taste of many(definitely not all) people on this board. ANYWAYS... When I saw the title of this tread one band immediately came to my head... Cradle of Filth BUT, then I remembered that is was just the vocals that sucked...the music itself is great. Kinda like Shadows Fall...sorry Laz. My nominee for Worst EVER has to be...ah hell there's too many choices. I think Good Charlotte and any band comparable to them stinks, as do the White Stripes, Vines, etc.

I think Good Charlotte and any band comparable to them stinks, as do the White Stripes, Vines, etc. Shit, I don't even think GOOD CHARLOTTE is worst band ever material. People need to stop thinking in terms of "What popular band do I hate and resent?" and actually look at the general lack of talent.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 15, 2003 God damnit...The White Stripes don't deserve to be compared to fucking Good Charlotte. The White Stripes actually have talent.

People need to stop thinking in terms of "What popular band do I hate and resent?" and actually look at the general lack of talent. Who's worse than Good Charlotte? It's not that they're popular, causing hate and resentment, it's that they legitimately suck ass. If they're not the worst band on the planet right now, I don't know who is. Maybe Ima Robot, but I don't think Indie counts.
Guest croweater Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Wow, I never realised how unpopular The White Stripes are here until reading this thread (I don't hang on the music board often). I love the White Stripes and think Jack has a hell of a lot of talent, Meg on the otherhand isn't the most talented drummer but she gets the Job done. And what's with all the Beatles hate? To say that the Beatles are the Worst Band Ever is not fathomable. They wrote some unbelieviable and revolutionary music.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 15, 2003 If you'll notice, the only one saying the beatles are the worst, is Mario. That should tell you something.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2003 I forgot about Cinderella.... Worst of the Worst out of the 80's Hair Bands. Aw hell no I found Cinderella to be one of the more enjoyable hair metal bands. Worst hair metal band title would have to belong to Stryper, beyond a doubt
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Stryper is by far the worst. In God We Trust? The Devil Can Go To Hell? maaaaaaaaan.... Kix is probably the second worst.

Not "bands you hate." The Monkees and Hole I can see, but there are more bands out there with less talent then the others you listed. Turn on Much Music/Fuse and you'll hear all the pop punk and emo bands. Think of all the one hit wonders of the 90's. Think back to the 80's and you have Trixster, Ezuff Enough, Go Go's, Warrent, Vixen, Winger, etc. To say any of those bands are better then Metallica, Aerosmith, Beatles or Nirvana is a joke. Guest Plushy Al Logan Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Why does everybody hate Hair bands?!
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 15, 2003 Because pretty much all of them were full of no-talent lame asses that all looked and sounded exactly alike. A homogenized sub genre of gaudy 80's decadence, that died a blatant and public death. Nothing long term, nothing meaningful, just shitty ballads, and worse solos.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 15, 2003 So it was a Nicer looking version of Emo I guess you could say? At least Hair Band gave you fashion tips... Emo bands just like wear jeans and tight shirts with like 500 waistbands and shit...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 15, 2003 They're equally ugly. Hair Metal's absurd outfits would never fly in modern society, even as a joke, and the genre never had enough substance to warrant itself idolatry from the elitist asshole crowd. Emo's just scathingly wimpy and effeminate, however, which does mesh with the girly lead singers of the 80's. It's no wonder the genre finds its roots in that decade.
