Smartmarks Fake Baseball League

Recommended Posts

Another solid week of smacking the ball as my power continues to stay steady. Now at 12 HR's and my base running abilities haven't diminished at all which is nice to see(15 SB's, whoo). Too bad we just suck, suck, suck! as a team though.

Awards/SFBL Players In The News:

Thursday, June 7th, 2017:

Jacksonville's Paco Fernandez laces five hits

COLUMBUS - Paco Fernandez saw the ball really well, leading Jacksonville to a 15-8 win over Columbus. His five hits thrilled his teammates and coaches, and Paco seemed happy as well after the game. His 2nd hit, a solo homerun off Vin Nobles in the 3rd inning, cleared the fence in left-center. Number 4 in the 7th inning, a shot estimated at 423 feet, cleared the wall in center field. He collected singles in the 1st inning, in the sixth and in the ninth (one RBI). Paco did drive in four while scoring four runs on his own. He now has a total of 67 hits this season, accounting for a .278 batting average.

Monday, June 18th, 2017:

And after a pretty good year, Gonzales is back to sucking horribly. I'm kind of glad, because it was weird seeing Gonzales with like three losses going into September. I am not happy about the low number of strikeouts. It should be at least in the 80s. And such.

I'm also upset that Atlanta is doing poorly yet again. Oh well, I guess I can always wait for next year, for Gonzo to retire so I can bring in Tiny Gonzales to shake things up.

Kind of odd that there are only three pitchers with records at .500 or better. Also odd that it seems since going to New Orleans, Henderson has dropped off. Come on, Big Red, get back up to hitting .400 again.

That's all I have to say for now. Let's get this thing to over 1000 replies! And such.

My ERA and WHIP went down. I guess I'm averaging like 16 walks a month and most starters get 5 starts a month...so a little over 3 walks a game. Compare that to *does the math* a little over 4 strike-outs a game.

Oklahoma would like Adam West's services. Trade some of the non-TSMers for him. Like our SS and somebody else please.

I do not know the reason for this, but it always seems that Atlanta just owns New Orleans. It's weird. We could have a horrible record, but we always seem to do well agains NO. I demand that Atlanta be scheduled against New Orleans only. As long as we can keep a record similar to the 5-2 we have against them.

Actually, post #1000 was Eddy J's post about getting a Hunter/James trade in the works. That was the 999th reply to the SFBL FAQ.

Congratulations on #1001 though, Sly. :D

Whoo...on a contender my first year...and I'm getting better as then season goes on. I wonder if I'll get up to .280, 15 home runs, 80 runs batted in, and 50 stolen bases. A good rookie campaign I see ahead...as well as a possible championship.

Breaking News

Ravech2(web).jpg

Karl Ravech: Hi, I'm Karl Ravech and this is a breaking update from the news desk. Ben Dover, the journeyman pitcher was arrested on public drunkeness and then admitted into detox late last night. A close family member speaking on annonimity had this to say

"He had been really depressed about being released by Chicago and nobody else looking into signing him. After his season ending injury in 2013 he started to look towards the bottle. His numbers went downhill and he hit his worst after leaving LA. This has been a long time coming"

There had also been rumors that he was dabbling with cocaine. A picture of Ben passed out was released earlier today. You make the call.

Either way, we here at Baseball Tonight hope you get healthy real soon.

Aw, poor Dover. But I want to know what Cirillo and Zenon have done since retiring. Wait, they didn't have good careers, so nobody wants to know.

That's pretty cool Frigid. Hopefully we'll see more when the rest of us retire.

Evo, if it's near the trade deadline and I'm not being picked up by someone, I wish to be sent to the team that has the best chance. Meaning, I'll use up a TSM trade if one's available at the time.

If you suck though, why would a contending team want you?

:D I'd like to think that my former glory and my defense keeps me looking like a marketable player.

Besides, taking a look at all TSM players stats, no one is playing to what they can be. Ain't just me.

damn, The Ghandi is having a career revival in his old age.

also, I'll ask Frigid what everyone else is thinking: where do you keep getting these fabulously gay pictures of Karl Ravech?
