Guest Evolution Report post Posted September 22, 2004 2019 SFBL AMATEUR DRAFT The first three picks of the draft were all first basemen, a very weird start to this year's amateur draft. Christian Fury was the first of the first basemen to get picked, as he was drafted as the number one overall pick by the Boston Tea Baggers. It didn't take long for the other TSM player to get drafted as well, as "The Methadone Man" Charlie Simmons was picked as the sixth overall pick by the Oklahoma Twisters, and the first pitcher to be drafted in the draft. I'm already looking for my player's picture to put on the Player Page, but if Fury wants to come up with one, he is certainly welcome to. Spring Training It's that time again. For those of you that don't know, Spring Training is the time when any player in the SFBL can improve, if they distribute their points right. You start with 20 points, divided evenly at the start among four categories. Batters: Contact Hitting Power Hitting Strike Zone Judgment Defense Pitchers: Pure Stuff Pitching Velocity Pitching Control Stamina From there, you can take away points from one category and put it in another, as long as you distribute all twenty points by the end of your reorganization. The other option is, of course, to take five points from all four categories (or from one), and put it towards learning a new position. There is no guarantee that you will learn the position, however, so choose how to distribute your points wisely.

What's your take, Duran? -Z I'd give it another year, if it's a bad season this year, then you should move to the closer position. Right now, it'd be jumping the gun on what could have just been an "off" year.

Vasarian_Brandy 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 Christian Fury - playing first base for the Tea Baggers, batting fifth against right-handed pitchers and the leadoff batter against left-handed pitchers. Fifth and first in the lineup? That's kinda bizarre. I've heard of being taken out of the lineup dependant on the handedness of the opposing pitcher, but... Playing power ball against righties, and then playing to get on-base against lefties? So weird.
