CONTRACT EXTENSIONS

A few players were left unsigned following the contract extensions issued on August 1st.

Mike Van Siclen (Montreal Fritures de Liberte) -- MVS still believes that he is in his prime and would like to test the market, but he is still hearing offers from Montreal if the price is right.

Edward James (Philadelphia Freedom) - Eddy J wants a $63,000,000 contract with Philadelphia over three years, and it doesn't seem that Philly is willing to put up that kind of dough, despite having plenty of available money. EJ's new contract would soak up about half of that available money, however, and leave very little for offseason moves.

Timothy Marsch (Los Angeles Glory Holes) - He wants to play for a winning team next year, and there is nothing that will convince him otherwise.

Austin Sly (Los Angeles Glory Holes) - He is in his prime and would like to test the market, but he is still hearing offers from the team if they have any.

If any of these players would like to be resigned to their current teams, please let me know right away so I can go ahead and simulate August.

Say, Evo....how does Columbus' rightfield situation look? Also, how much money is there lying around?

Columbus needs a good rightfielder, and they have $11,099,527 in available money currently.

Still waiting on confirmation from every non-Sly player who wasn't resigned.

You won't Fury...you're going to lose statistically, your team is going to lose in the standings....but you'll lose while fighting valiantly....

just like the SWF....hehe

...Ouch.

Well, who knows... You could be right.

But I'd like to see it for myself.

Soon.

:D

Anyone else get the feeling that this is turning into another SWF thread at some points?

So how about we waste some time while Evo gets the next update ready....lets play...HANGMAN~!

EDIT: Upon further inspection....this is hard to pull off...making the noose set up and all...so..whatever.

Nice chairshot, Flik. (Y)

Thank ya. Sadly, that whole chairshot was more effective than I ever was in the SWF/OAOAST. I would say my entire e-fedding career, but I actually had a World Title shot once a long time ago...

Anywoo, I'll take a second letter, S.

And I must say that I hope someone signs me from Free Agency. :) I still provide a mean bat.

Okay, so here's the deal. You guys have turned this into a wasteland, so it's time that I clean up the mess and take out the trash.

Three things have been keeping me busy and not updating:

1) Recapping Lost and Desperate Housewives for a site that I will not bother naming because I have no desire to plug myself.

2) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which is the best in the series.

3) My new job at Target as a cashier.

Now, don't be fooled, I'm actually halfway done with the recap of this month, but I keep getting sidetracked. So here's the deal, shorties:

I promise you that by the end of tonight, there will be an update for the SFBL. I promise.

Did I mention that I promise?

Now, you guys have to understand that I'm holding off the Halo 2 Collector's Edition for this, so bare with me.

SFBL

August 2020

Best Team in August: The Seattle Frasiers. Deadlocked with the Jokers at the conclusion of July, the Frasiers not only launched themselves into first place but gave themselves an amazing six-game lead in the West. Seattle has put themselves in great position to capture the West Division this year and enter into the playoffs, which is their best hope as the Central has hogged most of the Wildcard Standings in the East-West.

Worst Team in August: The Las Vegas Jokers. Most of the action was in the West this month, as the Jokers seem to be in position to choke away a rare chance at the SFBL postseason, something this team doesn't experience very often. They're going to need to scrap together all their power to topple the Frasiers, who are looking hot going into the final month of competition.

Adam West (NY) will miss 5 weeks

NEW YORK - New York's Adam West suffered a serious injury Tuesday in a game against Los Angeles. West fell down while running the bases and couldn't get up without help. He will miss around five weeks. After being taken to a local hospital, West was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a torn thigh muscle. West had walked 46 times this year and posts a .365 OBP. While batting .305, 138 for 452, he has driven in 79 runs.

Tuesday, August 21st, 2020:

New Orleans' Andre Chevalier unloads three times

NEW ORLEANS - Andre Chevalier powered New Orleans to a 11-5 win over Vancouver. He did it in style by homering three times. His first blast, a two-run homerun off Ernest Cresswell in the second inning, landed an estimated 412 feet from home plate. His second shot, off Ernest Cresswell in the fourth inning, was a two-run homerun and cleared the fence in left field. Number three in the seventh inning, a shot estimated at 426 feet, cleared the wall in right-center. Andre got four hits in four at-bats, scoring three times with eight RBI.

Guest Evolution

I've simulated the final month short of the final four games in October, but I thought I'd tease you all with this little ditty that I typed up.

RACE TO THE FINISH

Boston Tea Baggers and New York Bums

For: The Eastern Division

Stipulations: The loser goes home, as the Wildcard has been clinched by either Baltimore or Denver.

Standings:

Team GB

Boston --

New York 1

Baltimore Crime Spree and Denver Douchebags

For: The East-West Central Division/The East-West Wild Card

Stipulations: The winner will be division champs, but the loser will be wildcard champions.

Standings:

Team GB

Baltimore --

Denver 4

Vancouver Vasectomy, Columbus Pride and New Jersey Clerks

For: The North Division/The North-South Wild Card

Stipulations: The winner will be division champs, and the two losers will finish first-second or tie for the wildcard spot.

Standings:

Team GB

Vancouver --

Columbus 3

New Jersey 3

New Orleans Crunk Machine and Jacksonville Jackoffs

For: The South Division

Stipulations: Loser goes home, simple as that. This is the closest that an expansion team has come to the SFBL playoffs.

Standings:

Team GB

New Orleans --

Jacksonville 4
