Here's a rumor going around and we're not saying it's true, we're just reporting what we've heard. You decide if you want to believe it or not....

Word has leaked that Ozzy Osbourne's long-time guitarist Zakk Wylde may be on his way out the door very soon. Supposedly, the band is actually in rehearsals with Buckethead (Guns N' Roses) and keeping him on stand-by. It's no secret that Zakk is a very heavy drinker and it seems that the Osbourne camp might be ready to do an intervention on the axeman. Sharon and Ozzy have had to anti-up large bar tabs at five star hotels from the bearded maniac and his biker buddies. Jason Newsted, who is the 'new' guy and known for being a sober and cool headed veteran, has even butted heads with Wylde. Apparently it's become routine that Zakk is usually drunk beyond repair by lunchtime daily. The buzz is that if Zakk doesn't clean up his act, he's gone.

I would love to hear Zakk go off on one of his drunken rants about Ozzy, Sharron and Kelly.

Doesn't Zakk have his own band with BLS? So why would he care if he got kicked out?

BLS would be lucky to sell out clubs of 1500 seats. I'm sure playing Ozzfest during the summers is more fun and more money. Zakk would never admit to the money though.

I wouldn't shed a tear if he parted with Ozzy. Zakk's been bitching in interviews about having to play on shitty songs written by Dave Grohl anyway, so I don't suppose he'd care all that much.

I'd rather Zakk do BLS full-time than have to be dragged down by a man that can barely talk. Wow, so Zakk drinks a lot...you're point? That's part of his appeal, honestly.

And I wouldn't be too surprised if Black Label Society broke out big one day. "Stillborn" is actually a pretty decent hit on the radio, and I know quite a lot of people that have been digging BLS heavily since 1919 Eternal (which is their best album, and came out in '02).

I like both BLS and Ozzy, but does anyone else find this kinda stupid that Ozzy of all people is gonna kick someone out for drinking too much? Well if Ozzy kicks out Zakk, then maybe it'll do for his career what it did for Ozzy's when he got the boot from Sabbath :P .

If Buckethead went to join Ozzy what happens with Guns N Roses?

GNR will die again?

that would rule

but if buckethead does join, ozzy would look like a joke...well a bigger joke now.

You're right. Adding a innovative guitarist to a shivering moron who wrote a song about Perry Mason wouldn't be a good idea.

He wears a fucking bucket of KFC on his head with a mask. Is he in Slipknot? No, he looks like a buffoon. Ever notice how you can't take some people seriously based on the way that they look? Same principle here.

And talk all the shit that you want about Wylde. He might not be as good of a guitarist, but he's about 10x cooler than Buckethead will ever be.

I've never actually heard Buckethead play. Is he on any records? I only ask because I'll probably never hear him on a Gunners album.

He's got a couple of his own I have never bothered to pick up. But I hear they are pretty damn good. I guess try to download some of his shit off Kazaa and go from there.

I can say this, from what I have heard he plays GNR stuff better then Slash.

He's got something like five solo records. Giant Robot is intense, and Monsters and Robots is really solid, too. Les Claypool and Brian "Brain" Mantia play on most of the tracks on that one. I've heard good things about Colma, but haven't been able to track it down yet.

Key tracks i'd suggest would be "The Ballad of Buckethead", "Knockinggun", "Flying Guillotine", "Welcome to Bucketheadland", "Binge and Grab", "Jump Man", "Nun Chuka Kata" and "Stun Operator".

Also it's not like Buckethead is the first talented musician to wear a bizarre stage costume. Just look at the Residents, 2112-era Rush, or more recently the Frog Brigade.

I was just looking at his stuff on Amazon. There's some listmania's with around 20 albums. Colma sounds great, apparently it's an acoustic album only. I'll probably pick up Bucketheadland soon and check him out.

I've had Bucketheadland for a while, it's a pretty weird album, but the guitar playing is amazing. It's meant to be listened to the whole way through because it's the soundtrack to his ficticious amusement park Bucketheadland. I just got Bucketheadland 2 in the mail this week, it's even better than the first one, well worth the wait.

I would cream myself is BLS became huge because Zakk was kicked out. However, there's one thing about BLS I have some minor issues with:

It's just Zakk and whoever he can find to play drums. That's why the first two albums were just nice riffs around a solo, because Zakk was like "LOOK MA, I CAN SOLO!" Then 1919 came out, and well...awesomeness.

But yeah...Zakk should be like "fuck you, Oz," and bail.

I have Colma, it's very good if you like nice quiet music (which I do, suprisingly).

As for Zakk Wylde, he could play guitar for Good Charlotte and still be a badass. I can picture him drinking Whiskey in front of all the trendy sXe kids now.

Which guy did Zakk play in Rock Star?

The guy with the least lines. The hunter.

Zakk Wylde played a hunter? I would've never guessed.

I'd love to see him succeed on his own...we need more guys like him back in music. There's too many sober people in music now.

the guitarist...there's only one...the other guy is a bassist.

haysoos christo do you know AAANYTHIIIING about music?

Zakk needs to record another Pride and Glory album. I find the Pride and Glory album 666x better than anything he's done with BLS and Ozzy.

I didn't exactly pay close attention since the movie sucked and all. I marked out for Jason Bonham though.
