no actually it didn't. vince russo was responsable for winning the monday night wars. he did it with attitude and shock tv. are you now going to tell me that its not the reason they won? its because they were bringing something to the table that people were surprised to see. surprised draw viewers. old mindless predictable angles dont do shit except waste the companys money.

Yes, but shock tv is not what the audience wants to see anymore, they've had their fill for awhile. I wouldn't mind if WWE did a couple shock angles, as long as they backed it up with GOOD wrestling.

 

What the WWE needs right now is balance. They can still do shock tv angles to bring in the calibre of fan who enjoys that, but they should also have more traditional feuds based on simple premises so everyone has something they want to see. And above all, if the angle is based around shock tv, make sure it is set up around GOOD wrestling.

 

Wrestling foremost, the angles and stories should just keep things interesting inbetween matches and to set them up. Angles should not be the focus of the shows.

i agree. good matches are definately important, but these days the angles are just as important imo.

yeah? would you have thought about the way they developed kanes character? i dont think so. it spiked ratings, they just didn,t follow it up right. if you had it your way kane would probably still be in a fued with rvd to see who the better man is rather then lighting people on fire and getting people put in suspense as in they dont know what will happen next week. your kind of fueds would be so predictable. what could happen... will kane win or lose? what suspense!

But one thing bugs me: RVD, don't act like everybody hates you because of your opinions. That is bullshit. A lot of people have different opinions. I have different opinions. For example, I like Edge and don't like Austin (not just current Austin, Austin at any time). I haven't been blown off because everybody doesn't agree with me. You know why? they are going down because of lack of faith in the talent and subtle writing errors. if vince doesn't have the balls to push someone hard and really develop their character, we wont see anything new. he had something going with kane, but he fucked it up when he started fueding with shane and looking like a clown when he should have ended shanes so called career in their first encounter. the only person who should be near kane right now is goldberg. then the ratings would have continued to rise. but that damn mcmahon ego fucks everything up. hhh's politics didn't help anything either.
