Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 Anybody seen any of these yet? I caught the 1986 episode the other day, and was marking the fuck out for so much stuff. I caught the majority of the episode, but what I saw included; -talk about the Garbage Pail Kids hype -the failure that was Geraldo and Al Capone's Vault -Clips from one of the greatest movies ever (IMO), Howard The Duck -Don Johnson's foray into pop rock with "Heartbeat", and showing most of the video This was the only one I saw. Any seen any of the others, or this one?

lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 I mark for the 80's even though i was born in 1985. One thing i don't like is when Raven Simone or whatever was on " I Love the 80's" and she was talking about stuff that happened in 1983 which is like a whole three years before she was born
JHawk 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 Quick thoughts: Hal Sparks. Funny. Michael Ian Black: Not funny. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: Funny. The guy from the Daily Show: Not funny.

Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 I think Mo Rocca at times is funny. I think I laughed a good 5 minutes over the "Money can't buy everything but it CAN buy you a black man" comment.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 (edited) I really like those "I Love the...." shows, but some of the people they have talking over it really annoy me. Sometimes to the point where the show is hard to sit though. I've never heard of half these jackasses who are they to tell me Mr. Belvidere sucked? Guest Frank The Tank Report post Posted October 27, 2003 and who the fuck is Ian Black anyways? He's from the Comedy Central series "VIVA VARIETY!" not to mention a very gay scene in "Wet Hot American Summer". Is he gay? I'm kind of wondering myself. Anyways I think Ian Black is one of the least funny people on the planet. His sarcasm and dead pan are way too old and he is really annoying. Why does he get so much screentime? Rocca and Sparks are both funny, but IMO Donal Logue from Grounded For Life is the funniest person on the show.

No spotlight for Metallica's One, no one going into the S&M overtones of the GI Joe ARAM toy line, no one talking about the Batman movie, Transformers The Movie, Robotech, Muppet Babies, Calvin and Hobbes, Amazing Spiderman and His Amazing Friends, Star Trek 4, David Letterman/Johny Carson as the ultimate late night one-two punch, SNL's revival from the dead with the legendary 1986-87 season, Clue the Movie, Blade Runner, Legend, Aliens, etc.... Lots of stuff they missed this time around...
JasonX 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 and who the fuck is Ian Black anyways? One of the supporting cast members of NBC's show Ed and IIRC one of the head writers/stars of the cult MTV variety series "The State"...
Guest Frank The Tank Report post Posted October 27, 2003 QUOTE] No spotlight for Metallica's One, no one going into the S&M overtones of the GI Joe ARAM toy line, no one talking about the Batman movie, Transformers The Movie, Robotech, Muppet Babies, Calvin and Hobbes, Amazing Spiderman and His Amazing Friends, Star Trek 4, David Letterman/Johny Carson as the ultimate late night one-two punch, SNL's revival from the dead with the legendary 1986-87 season, Clue the Movie, Blade Runner, Legend, Aliens, etc.... Lots of stuff they missed this time around... Also Evil Dead, The Shining, The Thing, and The 1980's thrash metal scene. Their probably already working on Return Of I Love The 80's as we speak. Tony149 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 And no fucking Batman!?!? Now you're talking. My DirecTV programming guide listed Batman as one of the topics in the 1989 year and it was NOWHERE to be seen. I missed about 3 mins. of the show so I thought I missed it, but when I caught the 1000 replays VH1 show I was surprise to see no mention of it. It got the boot twice! Which is bull because it was a HUGE thing back then. The only time it was mention was in the original "I Love the '80s" where they lised Michael Keaton as a hunk in 1989. The shows are cool though. And I agree with many, Michael Ian Black isn't funny.
A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 I really like the fact they went back to what worked, and that was I Love the 80s. Ian Black, but yes he does try too hard. He should be serious once in a while on things. But Hal Sparks can do no wrong. Anyone else wish there was more Jericho on the show?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 27, 2003 I love all these shows and I'd like to see every decade done. Interesting to see how they'd handle the 50's in a comical entertaining way. I like Mo Rocca on the show...he has very dry humor, which I can relate to. Also, I may one of the few people who actually doesn't mind Ian Black. So, I like the two guys with dry sarcastic humor. Maybe this is because dry and sarcastic is the stlye of humor I use, so I can appreciate that style.

Guest stardust Report post Posted October 27, 2003 Well, I *was* watching 1985 just now but my roommate decided she had to go to bed. *grumbles* Stupid roommate. For some reason, though, I marked out when they were talking about JEM, I guess because that was one of those things I'd long forgotten about. Ian Black isn't very funny, though, I'll agree with everyone else on that one.
