King Kamala 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2003 For I Love the 60's they could bring in George Carlin. He'd bring a refreshing change of pace to the I Love the series.

The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2003 "I Love the 90s" logo and signs with Uncle Joey from Full House and Parker Lewis telling you not to drink if you are under 21. That is fucking GREAT. Parker Lewis Can't Lose was a great show back in the day. Yeah, our one sign said "There's one difference between you drinking under the age of 21 and Parker Lewis.... PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE." The Uncle Joey one had a picture of him with his arms folded and a condescending look and it said "Think about drinking if you are under 21? Well Uncle Joey Says CUT...IT...OUT!" It got some solid laughs. And as for the party in general, I was really fighting the urge to tell Mo Rocca about it here the other night, but by the time I got up to the front to have him autograph my ticket stub, he looked completely worn out and I decided to spare him. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2003 They do 70's Strike back, then I Love The 60's, then Return of I Love The 80's, then Return of I Love The 70's, then maybe 60's strike back, and finally I Love The 90's. If they go that route it could be two years. I was under the impression that I Love the 70s didn't do as well as the I Love the 80ses.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2003 You always have to reminisce about the decade before the last one. If they had done "I Love the 70's" during the 90's it would have done bigger ratings. At least that's my theory. I think for "I Love the 80's" they could do a half-hour series for shit they haven't covered. Could easily do 10-12 episodes. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2003 I Love The 80's: The Series could work if they put some full 80's music videos in there. It could last probably only last 20 or so episodes though.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2003 I couldn't stand enough Michael Ian Black for a series...although with 30 episodes between 70s and 80s that's pretty much what it is

They NEED to show the full version of Don Johnson's "Heartbeat" video. Ever since I saw the clip on the '86 episode, I've had that friggin' song stuck in my head. I think it was on MTV a few years ago as one of the "lamest videos ever" or some similar countdown. Vanilla Ice showed up and trashed the set on the same show. WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 What you're talking about Zach was MTV's 25 Lame. It was the 25 lamest videos of all time as hosted by Dennis Leary, Chris Kattan, John Stewart and Jeanine Garofolo. Heartbeat came in at number one. I think what Vh-1 should do is just a random "I Love" series where they can talk about obscure pop culture issues like comic books, cereal, toys, t.v. shows, whatever from any era. WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 One of the funnier bits from the special was the guys ragging on Jeanine for defending some of the videos, like the Paula Adbul "Rush, Rush" video. Leary said it was only because she thought Keanu Reeves was hot and he went on to say how she only loved Good Will Hunting because the guys were hot in that. Jeanine became very defensive and Leary said she wouldn't fess up because it made her look bad with her demographic of snarky liberal feminists.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2003 I thought Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy's "What's Up With You?" video should have been number 1. Heartbeat is god awful but What's Up With You is absolutely atrocious.

Sucked it never took off. The chick with the punk/gothic look was hot. The show wasn't that bag. The dad, store owner, sister, and punk chick were decient. But what killed it was "Look! Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 I thought Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy's "What's Up With You?" video should have been number 1. Heartbeat is god awful but What's Up With You is absolutely atrocious. I think it's because Heartbeat's Vietnam-esque setting really has nothing to do with the song, unless you go by Hal Sparks' take on it (is it a song an MD sings?) and think that Don Johnson fell in love with an Army Nurse. It's like, what does Don Johnson tossing a kid into a foxhole have to do with love, y'know?
WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 The Hearbeat video is actually made up of a direct to video special type thing that Johnson did. In it, he's a photographer in a war torn Asian country who sees this woman on the street and then spends the rest of the film trying to find her. I think she's a spy for the resistance or something. I haven't seen it, but know of it. Also notice who Johnson's lead guitarist is, Dweezil Zappa.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 Also notice who Johnson's lead guitarist is, Dweezil Zappa. HA! I had no clue. I just taped 83-89 yesterday, so I'll have to go back and watch the video clip.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 Here's a list of people who guest starred or write songs on Don Johnson's Heartbeat album: Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Diane Warren (Writer of a bunch of shitty ballads that sell millions), Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Ron Wood. Boy the record company sure tried hard to polish that turd.
