Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I just wanted to know what everyone thought: WWE-Mind blowing moronic booking desicions WCW-Infuriating refusal to let any of the talented superstars break through and surpass the less talented guys on top. So, what drove you more crazy? WCW or the current WWE? Personally, I think the WWE has done the impossable and surpassed WCW in bad booking. Words can't describe how pathetic the WWE is right now. Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Who's still alive? WWE won't be going bankrupt early 2004... WWE has too many markets worldwide along with the DVD/VG market to stay afloat... WCW never did good business...
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Of course. WCW was more of an ignorant stupidity, while the WWE is focused and determined at being completely senseless.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 29, 2003 On one side of the coin you can say "WCW started pushing young guys at the end" on the other coin "WCW knew damn well it was closing down and didn't want Nash and Goldberg to be the last image so they put up the young punks and Booker T." AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Yes, they have. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Bringing back Nathan Jones and putting him in the SurSer match. I rest my case.

LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 We're not talking about WWE dying. We're just talking about whether WWE's booking is worse. WWE will live through hell because of their financial backing, but that doesn't mean the product won't get worse.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted October 29, 2003 WCW was infinitely more idiotic than the WWE. I mean they fucked up BRET HART after arguably the most talked about moment in the business. Fucking up an old and worn gimmick like the NWO is one thing but fucking up someone like Bret Hart to the point where the crowd is indifferent takes a special brand of stupidity. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Vince fucked up WCW vs. WWE. Game. Set. Match. WWE. WCW was pretty successful with that lil ol invasion angle they did in 96 - and all they had were a failure of a champion and an IC-at-best wrestler.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 29, 2003 WCW: The Dog I rest my case. WWE:Katie Vick + WWF changing name to WWE > The Dog The Name Change should not count because it really didn't hurt the product aside from the marketing they had to do for it... AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I'll give WWE credit for not putting the belt on Carrot Top--I was scared when he was massaging Steph in those commercials that he'd be holding a top title.
tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 WWE easily. WCW at its worst (1999/2000) did not have the talent roster that the WWE has now, hence the need for them to push guys like The Dog, and Fit Finlay, and the Harris Brothers. Yeah, they still had bad booking, but the fact that WWE's shows are just as worse as WCW's at their worst combined with the fact that the WWE has the single greatest roster in professional wrestling history in terms of experience, star power and ability makes WWE the winner easily. And WCW had to deal with a few dozen regime changes every few months, WWE has had the same people running it for the past two decades. There's just no excuse for the crap they're feeding us now. Guest Sakura Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Well WWE's awful booking and total incompetence has ruined my love of the entire hobby, so I'd say them. I mean WCW was bad in a funny way, like it was kinda charming how dumb they were. WWE just makes me mad.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 If it wasn't for WCW, WWE's roster would be half of what it is now.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 WWE is about to lap WCW in bad booking decisions. Business decision, no one can pass the musical chairs of WCW. WCW had a poor roster for the Russo years (Russo's fault for cutting all the cruiserweights) although they made some inexcusable decisions. But the WWE is making bad ones left and right and now they are ruining one of their major PPV line-ups to get over the father and son. Late WCW and now WWE have one major thing in common: Ego WWE is just lucky they have the money to survive it.

Vyce 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 WWE has definitely beat WCW. I think Rudo has the best explanation for why. WCW was run by ignorant screwballs - and as soon as one got booted, they replaced them with another idiot. WWE can't claim ignorance. The WWE knows damn well what's going on they just refuse to take steps to change it because there are certain levels of bad business which they apparently deem acceptable - and they haven't reached the point where they feel the need for any major changes. Guest NCJ Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Sometimes people forget how stupid WCW was in its booking. Yes the WWE are idiots right now and have been for quite a few years, but David Arquete as the Champ when it wasn't even a good publicty move considering Arquete was at best a B- to C list actor, Jay Leno going over the top heel, Karl Malone wrestling Dennis Rodman when they had more than enough people to push, Chucky the psycho doll from hell vs. Rick Steiner, The finger poke of doom, Golberg when he was the number 1 or 2 guy in all of the business losing to Nash and a taser, and Nash droping the title to Hogan and the finger poke of doom, killing Bret Hart's heat after the WWE handed them the biggest story of the year, Buff Bagwell's mom holding half the tag titles, Russo winning the title(atleast Vince looks imposing), the OWN, Tank Abbot dancing with 3 count (don't tell me Tank was better than Nathan Jones), Mike Awesome the fat chick thriller, damn I know I am forgetting alot of stuff. The fact is yes the WWE is stupid (which is mostly due to certain peoplenot putting their ego in check), but they are not near WCW in shear stupidity of booking and angles. Nathan Jones has been down in OVW so he may have learned something. I doubt it, but we should atleast give him a chance. Yes Katie Vick is one of the most disgusting and ridiculous angles ever!!! But if you don't think WCW would have run something like that after Russo got there if they had a character that would fit you are kidding yourselves. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Come on Tank Abbott and 3 Count was hilarious.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Yeah, what was wrong w/ Tank hanging w/ 3-Count? Kept him from wrestling, and it was pretty entertaining.
Guest NCJ Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Before hand they had built Tank up as an unstopable force on a Goldberg like streak. He was knocking out everyone with one punch. It was stupid for him to be in that position in the first place, but having him dance around the ring with the boy band no one cared about was just ridiculous. I'm just glad they broke up and Shane Helms became a cruiserweight star.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 But Tank wasn't really getting over, IIRC. Plus, he was horrible. They took him and let him go w/ something that was getting him a reaction from the crowd. Would you rather they kept pushing him when it was obvious it wasn't working? Also, IIRC, 3-Count was getting some decent heel heat w/ the boy band gimmick, so to say no one cared about them is a stretch.
