bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2003 Ryan knows who Stan Hooper is because he watches Newsline- so he obviously has some degree of intelligence on him- He also wants to be a filmaker so he probably watches a lot of movies and stuff. The butler worked for a very rich guy for a long time and he's a butler- so he had to have some training. Chelsea is a dumb fuck. Pete and Lou aren't stupid- they're just simple. They believe in paying off debt and just being good honest hardworking folk. It took them 4 hrs to play pool because they all suck at it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 13, 2003 No One sucks that bad. If people believe Kane can survived a firy dumpste.r..I guess you can be stupid enough to actually buy that it takes two people 4 hours to play pool.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2003 I can identify since I suck ass at pool. But remember Choken- it's a TV show- not a documentary
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - 12:44 PM FOX Pulls Tonight's 'Stan Hooper' By Brian Ford Sullivan CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- In a last-minute programming move, FOX has yanked tonight's planned episode of "A Minute With Stan Hooper" in favor of a repeat of "That '70s Show" ("Misty Mountain Hop"). No explanation was given nor is it clear if next week's scheduled episode of "Hooper" will be yanked as well. FOX had previously announced "Hooper" will be pre-empted on December 3 in favor of a new episode of the upcoming reality series "The Simple Life" (read the story) meaning the freshman comedy will be absent from the network's schedule for at least two of the next three weeks. "Hooper's" future gets even murkier come 2004 as FOX plans to air "American Idol's" half-hour results show in "Hooper's" Wednesday, 8:30/7:30c time slot beginning January 21 (read the story). For its three airings this season, the Norm Macdonald-led comedy is averaging 6.0 million viewers. Last week's episode snagged 5.8 million viewers, an increase of 12% over its previous airing (5.2 million). Nevertheless, "Hooper" is off 21% in year-to-year comparisons for the same three-week stretch when "Cedric the Entertainer Presents" held the slot (7.6 million). Making matters worse is that lead-in "That '70s Show" is actually up 6% compared year-to-year with last year's initial Wednesday, 8:00/7:00c time slot holder "The Bernie Mac Show" (8.6 million vs. 8.1 million). Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Fuck Fox? No Fuck Norm for not putting a funny show...
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 No.... The ratings for Stan Hooper in week 1 and 3 were okay. Week 2 bombed because of the CMAs. The ratings INCREASED last week proving that the show is building an audience. The show needs time to get an audience and preempting it every week is just gonna kill it off. What's the point if you're just gonna give up after 3 episodes- when the 3rd showed promise.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 20, 2003 It did? It had maybe two decent jokes.
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Jesus fuck people need to realize what an opinion or preference is. I loved the show, and now it's taken from me. Damn you fox, damn you shitty reality TV, and damn you SNL for reminding me almost daily that Stan Hooper is the greatest man in the history of TV. DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!!!1 But yeah, OC looks good tonight....*is subdued by Foxes killer wed. line up*
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 The ratings INCREASED last week proving that the show is building an audience. Two weeks of ratings prove nothing. You need a lot more data points than that to illustrate a trend.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Well when the show debuts okay and then regains most of its audience after the CMAs are over- it shows that it is starting to earn a fanbase. Of course had they let it aired tonight- who knows what would've happened
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 So is Stan Hooper done, for all general intents and purposes?
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Not really. Arrested Development is also struggling and is in a better timeslot. And FOX could always redo its schedule for midseason. It doesn't look great but the show has some life left in it
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 While they're gone can they fire the butler? I hate that guy.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Tonight's Stan Hooper- (from fakenews.net) Writen By: Michael Lisbe & Nate Reger Directed By: Jeff Melman Stan goes along with the boys on the traditional Waterford Falls turkey-hunting trip. Much to Stan's dismay, Molly, a creative but terrible cook, volunteers to help cook Thanksgiving dinner, locks herself in the pantry and Chelsea cooks the meal herself to ensure a great turkey dinner. Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 26, 2003 As it should be. Maybe Norm should look into getting some hot teenaged girls to fight over a Shy Jew.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 Good to know a lot of you watched the show. I thought it was hilarious with the exception of Molly being mega annoying and the butler being a mega dick. I'll have a more in depth review tomorrow

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 A Minute With Stan Hooper" has lived up to its title. Fox has pulled the plug on the frosh laffer, which starred Norm Macdonald. Thirteen episodes were produced, but only six aired. Despite some solid reviews, "Stan" never gained any traction in its 8:30 p.m. Wednesday timeslot following "That '70s Show." Skein averaged a 2.4/7 among adults 18-49 and attracted an average of 5.1 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen. Fox tried out the show on Friday night, but the results weren't any better. Net doesn't have to worry about what to fill the slot with: The "American Idol" results show was always skedded to bump "Stan" come January. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 See, Fox moving it to Friday was clear evidence that they didn't care for the show to begin with. I didn't like this show much but it was seriously screwed over.
treble 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 The show was actually starting to get better as the Christmas episode with the old lady and her pie recipe was pretty funny, but the first few episodes weren't that good so it's not surprising that ratings weren't that strong. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - FOX has scheduled early March premieres for the midseason comedy "Cracking Up" and the potentially eternal reality series "Forever Eden." First out of the gates is "Forever Eden" from the purveyors of good taste behind "Paradise Hotel." Designed potentially to run in perpetuity, "Forever Eden" once again places an array of sexy singles at a luxury resort. The longer they stay, the more money they can earn, but the game is naturally loaded with twists and turns. "Forever Eden" will premiere on Monday, March 1 at 9 p.m. ET. The hour-long reality series will move to its regularly scheduled Thursday 9 p.m. time period on March 18. Jesus Christ. Really some interesting midseason replacements they've got. Add to it some terrible Joan of Arcadia-like show that they'll be "temporarily" replacing Boston Public with in March. I was never a big fan of Stan Hooper, as even Fred Willard didn't get me to love the show. But canceling that, their deasons at the end of last season, and if they cancel Boston Public at the end of this season and renew shit like Tru Calling....
