Guest ligerbomb03 Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 SOURCE: http://www.1wrestling.com As I reported late last night on the Newsline, Teddy Hart is done with Ring of Honor after a situation where he began upstaging the booking and other workers after the finish of the promotion's Scramble Cage match in Elizabeth, New Jersey. As the Backseat Boyz were celebrating their win, Hart stopped selling and began climbing to the top of the cage and doing moonsaults and dives again and again and popping the crowd, taking the attention away from the Backseats. The Carnage Crew, seeing this as disrespectful, whipped Hart down so he had a reason to sell, but he jumped up and did the same again, angering the locker room. The Crew attempted to get back in the cage but were told to return to the back. Several other workers were going to hit the ring, but were stopped at the curtain. When Hart returned to the locker room, the Carnage Crew and several others were angry and wanted to go after him for being "a glory hound" as one worker put it, but were stopped by ROH management. Hart's attitude in the back when he returned did him no favors, and he was eventually tossed out of the locker room, bags and all. Unfortunately, as talented as Hart is, his breach of etiquette was the worst thing he could have done and it killed his credibility with the ROH locker room. After the show, Hart's conduct was the biggest topic among the workers, all of whom seemed united in the opinion that Hart had tried to upstage the show at the expense of everyone he worked with and then had a callous attitude when he should have been apologetic. The feeling from ROH management is that there was no way Hart could be brought back without enraging the locker room as they basically excommunicated him. Hart's attitude has been an issue in the past. He was sent home from a WWF camp run by Dory Funk Jr. in 1998 over attitude issues. When he was brought into NWA TNA over the summer, Hart did a kip up and then performed a backflip off the top rope after losing to Juventud Guerrera instead of selling the finish. The incident was edited off the taped broadcast of the PPV and Hart later told TNA officials that he wanted to salute the fans in case he wasn't coming back. He has yet to return to TNA. Hart, who puked in the ring after the match, was later claiming to have suffered a concussion.
1234-5678 Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 In summation........Teddy Hart is a dick. Well, his name will always have value, especially in Canada. He won't exactly be starving for work.
Guest Dids Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 How did the fans respond to him? You'd think as smarkish as the ROH crowds are- they'd see obvious glory hounding like that.
Guest ToddRoyal Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 The guy does some impressive stuff in the ring, but he has the attitude of a 14 year old. His attitude in the WWF training camp cost him a job with the WWF, His attitude after the Juvy match may have cost him a job with TNA, and his attitude after the Scramble match cost him his job with ROH. The LEAST he could have done was wait until the Backseats had stopped their celebration and headed to the back. If everyone else was gone and he was putting on his little show, I don't think it would have been such a big deal. But completely stealing the heat from the Backseats, then ignoring a beating/warning from the Carnage Crew and doing it AGAIN is ridculous and disrespectful. He obviously thinks he's above the BSB and the CC as well as everyone else in the promotion, which is insane. Hopefully he hsn't burned all his bridges and he can mature and get a steady job with one of the major US promotions in 6 months or a year. I also hope this hasn't affected TJ Wilson or Jack Evans chances of getting US work, just because of Teddy's attitude problems.
Guest ToddRoyal Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 How did the fans respond to him? You'd think as smarkish as the ROH crowds are- they'd see obvious glory hounding like that. Apparently they were cheering him at first (when he was hitting actual moves onto Special K) but started to tire of it and turn on him when he kept climbing to the top and doing backflips just for the hell of it.
Guest Max Peter David Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 From what I understand, Stu Hart himself has stated that Teddywill never amount to anything if he doesn't improve his attitude, and tone down his style. I agree.
Mecha Mummy Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 What a fucking waste of the Hart family name. This is shameful and Hart needs to get the fuck over himself.
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 What a fucking waste of the Hart family name. This is shameful and Hart needs to get the fuck over himself. I couldn't agree more. Well said.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Ring of Honor did the right thing by breaking it off with him. You can't go on and on about being a ring of "honor" if they let him get away with that. TNA on the other hand can bring him back anytime and I won't complain.
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Source: http://www.rohwrestling.com There is a credo in the ROH locker room that you try to get over the other guy before yourself. Those who are selfish, unwilling to cooperate for the good of the company or only care about making themselves look good will not be welcome in the ROH locker room. Those who built ROH with their hard work in the ring protect that credo. It is this attitude that gives you fans the high quality in ring action you've come to expect from ROH.
PsychoDriver Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 As the Backseat Boyz were celebrating their win, Hart stopped selling and began climbing to the top of the cage and doing moonsaults and dives again and again and popping the crowd, taking the attention away from the Backseats. Just to clarify, He was doing the Dives/Moonsault on to other wrestlers right?
Guest ToddRoyal Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 At first he was doing them onto Special K members, then he just started doing backflips off the cage.
tpww7 Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Gabe will be on WOL tonight with Meltzer to adress some things.
Michrome Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I'm tempted to call in and beg him to change the fucking announcers. Honestly, that's the worst part of RoH by far. The announcers should be MARKS.
bob_barron Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Yea- tell Gabe that that Chris Lovey guy sucks
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 It's a testament to ROH that I've watched every tape, IN SPITE OF their announcing. It is HORRIBLE, and has been since late 2002 when Corino and I think Donnie B left. Maybe these guys work cheap or something, but they are dreadful.
Guest ToddRoyal Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 They do "work cheap" in that they're not real people. Chris Lovey IS Gabe Sapolsky, ROH's booker. Ray Murrow is another ROH employee, Doug something-or-other. That's why they are the commentators. They're always "in house" so you don't have to pay someone to come up and record, and they know the storylines. I do agree though, they should act as fans, not as bookers and "smarts" when commentating.

tpww7 Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Am I the only one not bothered by the commentating?
Guest OSIcon Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I am generally not bothered by it. It is not good and I am not going to try to argue that it is, but it doesn't come across as unlistenable to me. They usually do a good job getting the storylines of the matches across including stuff you generally wouldn't think about because Gabe knows what he wants to get across to the audiance. They added a lot to the Homicide/Corino 8/16 match in that regard. The main problem is that they aren't announcers and they really don't have the natural talent to be great announcers. I really don't think they are as bad as others think. I also really dig Gabe's "Dangerous" call....
Michrome Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Well, he explained the Hart situation in detail, and it's obvious that the lockerroom would never want him back.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I am not really bothered by their commentating either. Don't get me wrong as I'm not saying they are all Gordon Solie like, but I guess after all of the Jim Ross BY GAWD's and so on, anything would seem alright.
Guest Joe Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I don't mind the announcing too much, but I definitely enjoyed Corino and Donnie B. more...Those two just had great chemistry and made for an excellent team...
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Interesting story about Teddy, just thought I'd add it for interest.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 TEDDY HART CLAIMS HE DOESN'T REMEMBER WHAT HE DID AT RING OF HONOR SHOW by Buck Woodward Updated: 11/4/2003 12:28:10 PM I received the following today from Teddy Hart, asking that it be posted on the site. For those that don't know about the incident that Hart is referring to, please read Mike Johnson's coverage of the incident by clicking here and clicking here. In his statement, Hart claims to "not have much, if any, recollection" of what caused him to be literally thrown out of Ring Of Honor this past weekend. Here is what Hart sent out today: AN OPEN LETTER FROM TEDDY HART To All Ring of Honor Staff, Talent, and Fans: I am writing this letter in response to the situation That took place at Saturday nights Ring of Honor Show and my actions during the Tag Team Scramble. I do want you all to know that I suffered a concussion during the course of the match when I was thrown into the guardrail headfirst. I just left New Jersey this morning after awaiting Medical Clearance to fly back to Calgary. I do not have much, if any, recollection of the events that transpired in or out of the ring after getting whipped into the guardrail. That said, I want to make it clear that as a man, I take 100% responsibility for my actions Saturday night and feel horrible that my post match conduct has taken away from what was a tremendous event. I am human and have made, and I'm sure will continue to make, mistakes in my life. I want to officially apologize to all Ring of Honor Staff, Talent, and Fans. If that was my last match ever in Ring of Honor, I want to Thank Rob, Gabe, Doug, and all of the tremendous talent in the locker room for giving me the opportunity to perform in front of your great fans. I hope that time will heal the wounds and I will have the chance to return to Ring of Honor and personally apologize to anyone who I offended. Either way, I will continue to do what I love, which is wrestle and I'm sure will make more mistakes in my journey through life. I cannot turn back the clock and change what happened. The best I can do is to turn this into a learning experience to better myself and my career. God Bless, Ted Hart

Mecha Mummy Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 I thought it was Eric Garguilio or something who was Corino's broadcast partner... Oh, and on the Ted Hart excuse; well, it COULD have happened. Didn't Al Snow no-sell like ten chair shots once after taking a concussion?
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 It's definitely possible, depends on the severity of the concussion. My brother once got a really nasty one, a grade 2, and he doesn't remember getting carried off, spending time in the hospital, or any of the conversations he had during that time. That said, judging by the fact that he reportedly had a coherent argument with the ROH honchos and got his bags thrown out -it sounds like bullshit.
Downhome Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 I know that at times when you get a concussion you don't remember what happened or what happens after you got it, but I didn't know it was possible for you to suffer from one, and then go and do the sort of things that Hart did. That's what I mean.

While it is definately possible to forget things because of a concussion, the person knows what they are doing it while they are doing it. They just forget about it later. So he definately knew he was showing up people while he was doing it, but if he had a concussion, may have forgotten about it later.
