haVoc Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Storm Comment Board from: Barry Shandolow Jr. email: [email protected] Your Wife Hey Lance, I don't know if you get this alot, but I'm watching the news here in Jersey and one of the news ladies name is Lisa Evers. Right away, I thought of you and your family and I wondered, what does your wife do for a living? REPLY My wife looks after our children and puts up with me, which is harder than getting a good match out of Nathan Jones. Lance from: Chris Page email: [email protected] Storm & Benoit, no black mourning bands? Hi Lance, How come yourself and Chris Benoit weren't wearing black mourning bands on your arms in memory of Stu? Y2J did, I was expecting you and Benoit to do the same and was kinda disappointed when you didnt... Chris REPLY To me mourning is a personal thing, which we each do in our own way. Doing it publicly on TV, to me, seems like trying to get credit for it, which I don't agree with. Lance Not sure how I feel about the mourning comment, but Nathan Jones was good.
jester Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I could see Lance getting a month of jobbing to Randy Orton for either of those remarks.

If he didnt want to wear a armband thats his choice, doesnt mean he cares any less.I agree that mourning is a personal thing.
haVoc Posted November 3, 2003 Author Report Posted November 3, 2003 I agree. But, I don't think Storm should be making it sound like some guys do it just for the sake of doing it on TV.
Crimson Platypus Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I agree. But, I don't think Storm should be making it sound like some guys do it just for the sake of doing it on TV. "To me mourning is a personal thing" Doesn't sound like he is talking about what anyone else does at all, just doesn't "personally" see the need to publically mourn.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Doesn't sound like he is talking about what anyone else does at all "Doing it publicly on TV, to me, seems like trying to get credit for it, which I don't agree with." This part sure sounds like he is.

This part sure sounds like he is. I didn't take that as he was attacking anyone...just his own reasoning on why he doesn't do it.
dubq Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Another reason the IWC has a bad rep.. over analyzing a simple little comment to death.
Guest Just Looking Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Storm has a point. It really looked self-serving the way Bubba wrote HAWK in big letters and kept pointing to it. It made me feel like he wanted to make sure everyone saw it, and it came across as very disingenuous. In fact, most of Bubba's whole schtick seems like he is pandering to the audience and trying to get attention any way he can. I think this is what Storm was alluding to when he made that comment. Jericho, however, had a simple black armband and never referenced it during his match. Just went about his business. I didn't have a problem with that, and I doubt Storm would have either.
evilhomer Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I don't want to put words in Lance's mouth but the Bubba example is a very easy and logical assumption to make. Lance is kind of in a bad spot here anyways, he puts the armband on and eveyone says he's just keeping up appearances, he doesn't and he gets this. I think the Confidential segment that aired Saturday was the best indication of his mourning. I don't know if I'd say bad things about Jones though. At his best, his opponent is still in danger, I wouldn't want to be that opponent while he's pissed off with me.
Highland Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I think the Nathan Jones comment is sig worthy.
Guest MikeSC Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 But that's what makes us special Do you mean we're special --- or are we "special"? -=Mike
