Forgotten free TV classics?

Recommended Posts

Remind me, as it's been a while...what was the finish?

Savage was in Hogan's corner. Sting had the Scorpion on Hogan and he was screaming in pain ... Savage was cheering him on but it was obvious Hogan was about to tap ...

Then comes the Dungeon of Doom clusterfuck brawl to mess up everything!

I don't think it's a classic but I was on the edge of my seat for the Yokozuna vs. Crush WWF title match on Raw a few weeks after King of the Ring. I was sooooo bummed when Crush lost.

A couple of good matches to bring some WCW love, heh

October 14th, 1999 Thunder

Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Saturn

April 19th, 1999 Nitro

Cruiserweight Title: Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Juventud Guerrera vs Psychosis vs Blitzkreig

-Just an awesome cruiserweight match that went around 20 minutes with non-stop(unless you count the commercial break) action

Angle vs. Kane for the US title on Smackdown was pretty damn good as well.

I second this.

Angle actually did some leg work before applying a leg submission!

Kane seemed motivated too.

1-2-3 Kid and Marty Jannetty vs The Quebecers where quebeecers lost tag titles for 1 week

On that note, how about Blitzkrieg v.s Juvi from Nitro where Juvi busted out the top rope Juvi Driver.

Yeah, that was a great match. Luckily I have it recorded. Anyways how about this classic:

Tajiri/Psicosis - ECW on TNN

That was a tv match wasn't it.

Speaking of ECW on TNN, one of my favorite moments on that show was the segment when Kid Kash defeated Rhino at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Kash went through the mosh pit of ECW wrestlers to get to Rhino and then plancha'ed on all of them. I believe they were all there to protect Paul Heyman after he got gored. Can't really remember. But good stuff from what I could.

I believe the Lynn/RVD TNN Match was the only decent match those two pulled off...

And the TNN Tanaka/Awesome match outclassed the N2R Match.

The Christmas Eve 99 match is one of my favourite matches of all time.

I've only seen it once and I can barely recall what happened, but I know I just LOVED it.

Thought of another one.

Triple H had a pretty good match with Bob Holly on Heat in 2000. I actually believed Bob was going to win, but I think Trips won by DQ.

Tajiri had an awesome match with TAKA Michinoku in june 2001.

i don't know what show this was but Owen and Bulldog had a really good 15 minute draw in a 1995 kotr qualifier.

More Tajiri, I remember him having a good match with Taka on Raw in July 97. Also Taka/Sasuke on Raw the night after Canadian Stampede.

Wasn't thier a hardcore title match between Road Dogg and Bossman in winter '98 that was 100x better than it had any right to be?

Another fun TV match that should be mentioned is Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle - Raw 11/27/00. Solid match except for the HHH/Steph crap at the end. Austin's the one guy who really knew how to work Angle. It's also nice to see Angle before he became a suplex spotfest.

--HHH vs. Rikishi from Smackdown

--Booker vs. Bret from early 99 Nitro

--Bret vs. Benoit matches on Nitro other than the Owen memorial.

--Kane vs. Mankind (HIAC) in 98

--Benoit vs. The Rock on Benoit's third Raw, Benoit wins it.

--Jericho vs. HHH from April 2000 where Jericho wins the belt. God what a markout moment.

--Chris Benoit vs. Scott Hall in the lone good match of the first Russo era

--Chris Benoit vs. Sting in Sting's last good match.

Wasn't the finish an Sit Out Awesome Bomb where Mike came off the top with his back to the ring and still got enough distance to be darn near the center of the ring when they landed?

Austin/Shamrock was a good match from September '98. I believe it was from the first Raw back after the US Open and it was a great match up until the shitty ending (Undertaker, Kane, Rock, and Mankind all did run-ins and everyone just started brawling with each other).

I vaguely remember a HHH/Rikishi match that was shockingly good where HHH nailed Rikishi with everything he had and the big man just wouldn't stay down. I think it was sometime in 2000 or the beginning of 2001. Rikishi was crazy over because of this match. Anyone remember?

That would be early 2000 and I think it's the same match that Michrome's referring to. That was pretty much the match that made Rikishi in WWF.

How about the X-Pac/D'lo Euro Title match from 98? I always liked that one.

Also, I was watching an old tape from May 99 (building towards Over the Edge), and there was a match between Val Venis and Jeff Jarrett on there that was surprisingly good. The crowd was pretty dead for it until Debra got involved though.

- Bret Hart vs. Bob Backlund (1994, the Backlund heel turn match)

- Great Sasuke vs. TAKA Michinoku (1997, the night after Canadian Stampede)

- Bret Hart, Owen Hart and British Bulldog vs. Steve Austin, Dude Love and Undertaker (flag match from Halifax RAW in 1997)

1-2-3 Kid Vs Razor Ramon-Raw 1995 (?) I believe this was when Kid turned...They restarted the match like 4 times because Kid kept begging to have anoter shot or someone interefered...then Kid swerved Ramon and turned.
