I refuse to buy anything that gets sold at Hot Topic because they are responsible for all these semi-gay looking punk teens trying to be punk but look gay in the process. I dare you to ask these people what punk is. You'll want to stab them in the face. And I really wanted the Brak Show shirt.

The definition of punk is now "gay and retarded". What you used to call punk is something else now, and it's better that we don't know what it really is, because it would just become gay again. So kids if you want to be punk, don't be punk, if you're being punk, you're not punk. So don't be punk to be punk. I really don't give a fuck about who shops there or the "politics" of the kids who shop there. I like the pop culture and vintage style shirts they sell, statements be damned.

Isn't there any degree of subtlety anymore? Do people wake up in the morning and say "yes, I think now is the time; today I want to be a punk!" And then they just stroll on over to Hot Topic or whatever else claims to be the "one stop shop for all their gothic/punk/grunge/vampire/alternative needs?" I readily admit I'm a nerd/geek. I am the way I am because I grew up this way. I wasn't out on Friday night getting drunk and gettin' some when I was in high school because Friday night gaming with my pals was just something that seemed "right." I grew up with the notion that Magic: The Gathering, wrestling, hockey and video games were my way of life (which is why that Duck Hunt shirt belongs on my hot body). I didn't need to shop at a store to end up the way I did, it came naturally. Heh, I didn't even realize I was a geek until the 8th grade. Hey man, I got to where I am by CLUELESSLY shopping for my clothes at K-Mart baby! No buzzing signs and fads were needed to mold this image!
