Kurt Angle Mark Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 This week's edition of Raw did a 3.7 cable rating, with a 5.6 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show did hours of 3.6 and 3.8. The number is up from last week's 3.4. credit:1wrestling.com
NYU Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 The fans must have knew Shane and Kane had a dinner date last night. That sure as hell forced me to turn on Raw.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Any bets RAW's ratings will drop next week? *realizes SSeries is next Sunday Nevermind.
razazteca Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Lita = Ratings or Goldberg is a draw...
JJMc Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Lita = Ratings or Goldberg is a draw... I don't understand why people say things like this. Just because a certain wrestler is on TV one week and the show gets a high rating doesn't mean they are a draw, necessarily. A draw to me is Hogan in the late 80s or Austin in mid '98, someone who draws people to shows.
razazteca Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 So you are saying that Goldberg or Bautista did not keep your interest in the show?
razazteca Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 (edited) Well apperently the Passions storylines and dinner dates keep some peeps interest in the show but how far will this go? Edited November 12, 2003 by razazteca
Kahran Ramsus Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 This is just in the normal range. If they start drawing in the 4s again like they did when Kane was getting pushed before Shane got to him in the summer, then you can consider a guy a draw.
Steviekick Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 I'm guessing the ratings increase is partly due to the better content the past few weeks.
LaParkaYourCar Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 It's still within the average. It doesn't mean someone/something draws or doesn't draw. It's just the usual. It's a mixture of what it's going up against and what people expect beforehand.
humongous2002 Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 When they start getting better buyrates for a ppv then i will say that so and so is a draw, but as far as i know Goldberg hasn't draw shit .
NYU Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 The over run got the highest. As it usually does. Says absolutely nothing about Goldberg or Batista being supposed draws.
Guest Skironox Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 I just know WWE is going to link this with the return of HHH to live TV.
razazteca Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 The over run got the highest. As it usually does. Says absolutely nothing about Goldberg or Batista being supposed draws. When Goldberg vs Xain had the cage match weeks ago it was the highest rated segment of the hour.
NYU Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Well, to be fair, it wasn't like weeks ago. More like months ago because, if I remember right, the match took place in around May. That was when Goldberg was still fresh and new in WWE and, let's face it - when buyrates needed to be generated for his return match at Backlash against Rock, he pretty much failed miserably. Goldberg gets fan support, there's no denying that - but it's silly to say he's a draw now and bring up a match from six months ago, which had the fact that it was a cage match possibly boosting the ratings for it. There are times when certain parts of the show are rated higher than the overrun. But, for the most part, the people in the overrun get the highest ratings of the night, regardless of who they are.
Guest deadbeater Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Raw is steadily improving. They built proper heat for all the participants in Survivor Series, and the writing for the most part got better. Now if Lita gets to kick Bischoff in the gonads, the mysogyny angle will hit a proper end.
Guest Megatron Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Now if Lita gets to kick Bischoff in the gonads, the mysogyny angle will hit a proper end. Didn't they already do something like this a long time ago?
