Kurt Angle Mark Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 As expected with an average (as opposed to below average) overnight number, Smackdown's final number at 3.7 was the second highest of the past year. credit: Dave Meltzer
haVoc Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I'm giving a lot of the credit to the Cena storyline.
Spaceman Spiff Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Pfft. Jamie Knoble = ratings.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I'm giving credit to Steph being off TV
Steviekick Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 All three are valid ideas. I decided to sleep instead of see SD. What do I know. What was the highest rated SD this year?
Guest Ronixis Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 Maybe it was the HOSS factor? Or maybe Cena is starting to become a star? Or maybe is was a way to sell SS big time? Whatever it was, at least Vince cant say Sex Gets Buyrates.
Guest Jimbo Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 but, what is a GOOD show? Or did it just get lucky.... sorry, I didn't care to watch...
Guest Max Peter David Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 Why must ratings go up when the show starts to suck?
Guest wildpegasus Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 It's all Benoit, baby! RavishingRickRudo-What manuever is being preformed in your signature?
Guest Choken One Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 It might JUST be Cena. I've seen a lot of people doing the WORD LIFE and YOU CAN'T SEE ME gestures lately.
iliketurtles Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 I'm going to on a limb and say I don't think it has to do with Vince.
Guest Choken One Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 Yet the ratings breakdown indicate Vince is a big ratings draw...funny isn't it
Downhome Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 We ALL know that Vince/feces is the cause of this! Self defecation = ratings~!
Kahran Ramsus Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 Yet the ratings breakdown indicate Vince is a big ratings draw...funny isn't it Yes, but PPV buyrates are far more important and yet the ones with McMahon's on top fail miserably. Even worse than normal.
Boner Kawanger Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 "Well, what a great rerun. It sure is funny that UPN's only decent programming is syndicated TV reruns. Let's go out to dinner, honey?" "Should I turn off the TV?" "Nah." That=Ratings.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 It's a double-leg takedown by Henderson, with Newton securing a front-face lock. Wrestlers usually twist their hips (and therefore their opponent) when moving in for a shoot so they can get side-mount - Henderson over-rotated and spun, Newton held on. Note Dave Meltzer at ring side in the white shirt You can find a Dan Henderson highlight video on Kazaa that features the move (It's actually a really good video - Henderson always manages to deliver.).
Corey_Lazarus Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 I actually liked SmackDown this past week. Raw as well. A lot, actually. They both advanced angles, nothing was too bad, and there were quite a few matches.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 Let me make this clear guys, big ratings don't mean shit compare to low ppv buyrates and very low house show tickets' sales.
