ChrisMWaters Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Oh, if they do make a Wrestlecrap DVD...PLEASE use Cheetum the Evil Midget! PLEASE!
razazteca Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 DDP matches I would like to see are: DDP vs Raven vs Benoit all of the matches DDP vs Savage DDP vs Flair vs Hogan vs Sting Spring Stampede DDP Jersey Triad tag matches The whole book angle with Kanyon DDP in the Battle Bowl ring angle And a feature of all of the variations of the Diamond Cutter, which would include footage from The Muthaship Saturday Nite and Thunder.
Downhome Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 The Shockmaster = Yes! Necrophilia = No!
Guest Stunt Granny Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I think the Austin DVD would kick mjor ass. I wouldn't want to see a "Best of..." type deal. More like an anthology of his career. Showing matches that define the phases of his career that not many people have seen. Disc 1 -Early stuff from Texas -Some match from Memphis -Some Dangerous Alliance stuff -Hollywood Blonds stuff -His feud with Steamboat Disc 2 -An ECW match of some sort - vs. Bret SS '96 (I'd include that rather than WM 13 since so fewer people have seen this match) - vs. HBK KoR '97 - vs. Dude Love OtE '98 - vs. Vince in the cage Disc 3 - vs. Triple H NWO 2001 - vs. Benoit Smackdown in Edmonton - vs. Angle SummerSlam 2001 - vs. Rock WM XIX
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 God Bless Amazon I finally got my Flair DVD (and Bloodbath), because they aint released here till January, so I had to buy them through Amazon.com. as opposed to .co.uk, and they arrived this morning A WEEK EARLY. So, dont expect much posts for the next 24 hours you promise......
razazteca Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Disc 1 -Early stuff from Texas Austin vs Chris Adams! Disc 2 -An ECW match of some sort Austin vs Sandman vs Mikey Whipwreck! The ECW DVDs already have most of the good stuff so if they do include ECW matches I think it should include an extra audio commentary track by Austin about his matches vs his drinking buddies.
Guest X-X-X Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Is there an official release date for the UK/region 2 version? By that, I mean an actual date. Not "mid-December" or "January". THE REAL DATE (if there is one, that is).
Guest Just J Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 So, bottom line, is it worth buying? Is it a good "greatest hits" DVD for Flair? I am an old school Flair fan, so I want to see some good things from the old days. I know how it's advertised, but I want an honest opinion from a few people who already have it. I don't buy wrestling DVD's, but this one really has my attention; so, help a brotha out with some feedback.

I don't buy wrestling DVD's, but this one really has my attention; so, help a brotha out with some feedback. I bought it only for the old-school stuff (and by old-school, I mean older than Flair-Steamboat). It's awesome watching clips from the old TBS shows, from the 85,86,87 era. If that's the kind of Flair you're looking for, it's worth getting. The only caveat that I'll offer is it leaves you wanting to watch more of those shows, and less just Flair-focused stuff. Now, if the wwe decides to put out a "Best-of-the-NWA 1986" DVD, I'll be the first in line to buy it. And if it helps you make up your mind, I also don't buy wrestling DVD's ... I gaffled two ECW from an ex-roommate, but watched them so infrequently I have no idea where they are. For all I know, he stole them back. So, the Flair one is the first, and only, wrestling DVD that I've bought.
Guest Choken One Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 The Flair dvd is the Pinnacle of Wrestling DVD's. Countless ****+ matches and primo promos and old school hype packages.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 This is the only wrestling dvd I have ever bought. I own hundreds of vhs tapes, but never cared to spend extra cash to buy the dvd version until now. And I was more than satisfied. I too am an old school Flair fan, so this was perfect. Johnson, have you not seen the list of matches and promos on this? I ask because you say you are an old school Flair fan, the list tells you which matches and promos are on their, yet you still ask if this is something you should buy.
DrVenkman PhD Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Ok, so I was watching the Barry stuff today... the match, which I've never seen, was great, but that wasn't the most amusing part for me. The music used in the intro chapter is the same music that is used for 30 minute Sex Line infomercials that air here late at night.
razazteca Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I'm waiting for Vol TWO of the the Flair Collection! I still need Flair vs Savage, Flair vs Hart, Flair vs Sting Clash 1, Wargames. The Ultimate Collection has some footage of World Wide interviews and Mid-Atlantic workout footage. There are some build up promos by Flair in his feuds vs Steamboat and Funk. The Piper workout was surprising good. If you're a old school WTBS or a Saturday Night wrestling fan and you do not own this then you are either poor or insane maybe both. The clips about the plane crash and the Horsemen were taken from Confidential. The only thing that I can complain about this DVD release is that there was not enough of Flair or anybody else talking about how it was in the good ol days or much commentary about the matches themself. Yes Flair talked about Steamboat being one of his favorites to work with, but I would of liked to see a current wrestler's view about the match. Other than that this is one of the greatest DVDs released by WWE.

The Dames Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I was thinking of doing a special in depth Diatribe on the Flair DVD now that I'm done with everything on it. Should I? Dames
ChrisMWaters Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I was thinking of doing a special in depth Diatribe on the Flair DVD now that I'm done with everything on it. Should I? Dames As the M&M's Minis would say.. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!
Tawren Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 I *finally* bought this, along with the Cage match DVD, last night. Goddamn it is incredible. The quality of the footage, especially the old school NWA stuff is incredible. Race/Flair is such a great match.
Use Your Illusion Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Am I the only one who marks out in every possible way for the Dusty Rhodes of the 1980's? I get so caught up in Big Dust's matches with Flair, espicially the Starrcade match and the cage match on the Bloodbath DVD. Fucking awesome.
Guest Choken One Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Dusty Rhodes is the closest thing NWA ever had to THE ROCK. Amazing Presence on the mic and could work a crowd like no other, Although Rock easily beats him in workrate but oddly enough Rock/Dusty are Flair and Austin's favorite guys to work with although each have worked with better workers in their time.
MillenniumMan831 Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Like an idiot, I let my dad's boss borrow it last week. I get it back and there's now a tear in the insert, disc 2 now has a scratch and disc 3 is all scratched up. Plus, somehow all the gloss on the cover is gone. I'm taking it to CD Warehouse to hopefully get the discs fixed. So help me God if that doesn't work out.
Use Your Illusion Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 NEVER part with the Flair DVD!!
MillenniumMan831 Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Eh, I tried to score a few points for the ol man. I returned from CD Warehouse and the dvds look crisp, clean, with no caffeine (as Angle would say). I'll have to check them out tonight to make sure everything's copastetic (sp? but it was cool when the Rock said it).
