Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 As Democratic presidential hopefuls headed to Des Moines, Iowa, for a Monday debate, Missouri Rep. Dick Gephardt delivered a blistering attack Sunday on former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean’s fiscal record. With the struggle between them growing more intense by the day, the Dean-Gephardt fireworks are likely to be the highlight of Monday’s two-hour debate, which will televised live on MSNBC at 4 p.m. ET. http://www.msnbc.com/news/997195.asp?0cv=CB10 More on their arguement at that link. This is mostly a thread for discussion when it pops up. I may be here or not for it.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 I've found Democratic debates to be somewhat similar to watching cheese age.

Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 It's been pretty funny so far. Everyone and their mother are attacking and misquoting Dean so far.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Brokaw isn't taking it easy on the candidates. He just asked Sharpton about Tawana Brawley. Heh.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Damn, I wish I had seen that, if for no other reason than to see Brokaw try and pronounce "Tawana Brawley". Seriously, though, these 9 (10? I lose count) need to just Thunderdome. 9/10 men / women enter, one candidate leaves.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 Wait a second. When was the live airing of this? I am gonna be at school for the 5pm/8pm eastern airing, so I may watch the replay at 11pm, but when did this originally air? I am currently watching Hardball and it seems like this debate already happened today!?!
Justice 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 Is Thunderdome a wrestling gimmick I'm not aware of or something? Mad Max, dude. TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVE! Personally, we should just start doing gladitorial bouts for the Presidency. It'd be so much more entertaining.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 Mad Max, dude. TWO MEN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVE! Oh, I'm not that well educated in bad movies, I guess. I don't even know what Mad Max is but a movie that everyone says is very cheesy. And NoCalMike, it'll be reairing at 6PM, choose if you prefer the debate or Raw, I guess. I'll be in class for the 6pm airing, but I checked my guide and it comes on at 11pm so I may check that out. I really only watch these things to see what Al Sharpton will say since everyone else is pretty predictable.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 I caught a bit of it. Clark, Kucinich, and Sharpton sounded really dumb tonight. Mosely-Braun sounded her normal level of dumb. John Edwards was boring. No one else spoke before I went to dinner. As much I love Wesley Clark's Outkast ad, he ain't cuttin' the mustard.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 He just asked Sharpton about Tawana Brawley. Heh. What did Poo-Face say? "Can't win 'em all, Tom." OR "Us race-baiting pieces of shit can't spot the racists ALL the time." OR "I'm sure those cops pulled over a black motorist in the past, so I was justified..." Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 25, 2003 I still want Sharpton/Bush. The Debate spoofs on SNL will be gold. Knowing Lorne though...He'll have Jimmy Fallon play Sharpton

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 Did anyone see Biff Henderson traveling with the Dean campaign on Letterman? A Jimmy Dean reference, a healthcare rant that lasts 7 seconds because Henderson got bored, a check-up, etc. HENDERSON: Bush spits (video), he trips (video), he hits his head getting into a helicopter (video.) Admit it: he's a goofball. DEAN: The evidence is he's a little weird.
