razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 How 'bout Menudo? Are they making a comeback again? I forgot what they changed their name to. I think some of the members are too busy working on Novelas now.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 My older, 20 year-old brother will buy the new CD. He loves Backstreet Boys. You would think that the teenage girl of the house would like them, not the 20-year old male...
The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Now Menudo was definitely a boy band. They kept replacing members with boys (not MEN) and they were keen on making pop music and dancing all the time while being backed by a production team. Dames
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Weren't members kicked out when they were 16?
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Weren't members kicked out when they were 16? Or 17, something like that... I always pictured the continuous rollover in Menudo like rotating milk at a store... "Renaldo's expired... <producer throws Renaldo into trash bin, then opens up a fresh box with 14 y/o inside and puts him in Renaldo's place> ...now introducing: Julio!" You would think that the teenage girl of the house would like them, not the 20-year old male... It's the same way with me CC. My sister is pretty much an alt-rock kinda girl, while my music is the poppy/dance/top 40 stuff. I do have a very diverse collection, as I listen to everything, but it's just the point that it's geared towards her, but I buy it. Ah well, different strokes for different folks. Perfxion 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Pop music is geared towards the masses. Its hard to just say girls because shit like hair metal always started with a up tempo song to show how cool they are. Thus male fans, then sappy pop songs, thus massive ammouts of female fans. The ballads get relased more and more because more CDs are bought, but the male fans are still there. Just males don't buy the CDs as much as females, so it looks like it is for females only. Motown R&B, Hair Metal, Boy Bands all go by this formula.
