Bored 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 Welcome to Bored's College Bowl Pick 'Em Contest. RULES 1. You must pick a winner FOR ALL 28 games. If you leave one out I will not count your picks. If there is a game where you have no clue about either team flip a coin for all I care just please pick a winner. 2. Each bowl game is assigned a point value from 28 (Sugar Bowl) to 1 (Hawaii Bowl). If you correctly select the winner of a game you earn the points that the game is worth (i.e. pick the Sugar right and you'll earn 28 pts). If you are wrong with your pick you earn zero points. I assigned the games their point value based on the combined BCS ranking of the teams in each game so there is no personal bias on how important I believe each game is as it is simply based on the quality of teams involved according to the BCS. I did this just to make the contest slightly more interesting than just a straight up who picks the most wins contest. TIEBREAKS (for the overall winner) 1. The contestant who picked the most bowl games correctly. 2. The contestant who picked the most games consectively correct to start the contest. 3. The contestant who picked the most games consectively correct to end the contest. 4. Fight to death OR Just call it a tie. DEADLINE You must have your picks posted by Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PM PST which is the start of the New Orleans Bowl. You can NOT change your picks after that date. You can change post picks and change them between now and then if you so choose. If you do change your picks please PM me so I don't miss it. OTHER NOTES I will be participating in the contest as you could expect and I'll post my picks on the board probably in the next couple of days. I'd prefer everyone only make picks on this thread and not turn into a discussion of the bowls as we can create a seperate thread for that. So here is the full line-up of games and their point value for each game is listed in bold. December 16 New Orleans: North Texas vs. Memphis 6 pts. December 18 GMAC: Louisville vs. Miami (OH) 18 pts. And if a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass a hoppin. If OU had won, they'd be a heavy favorite. However, K-State proved that they can not only be beaten but completely SCHOOLED. If LSU's excellent defensive minds can break down enough game tape on OU as well as coming up with their own original defenses to throw off White at the line, it'll come down to whether the OU offense can limit their turnovers and if Matt Mauck can get things going with the Oklahoma defense chasing after him. What was the point in being a jerk there? I was merely making a comment that it'd be a much easier game for LSU had OU won b/c they'd go in thinking they were invincible. But they aren't...they're coming to play....which is very dangerous when looking at the rest of the season.

You've been pissing and moaning about how OU didn't play like OU last night, blahblahblah, so I figured you were doing an encore of it. If LSU shows up to the Sugar Bowl and doesn't play the game of their lives, they won't DESERVE to win because this IS the game of their lives as of now. However, after the Florida game, I don't think anyone on the team is stupid enough to think that OU will just roll over for LSU.
