Why makes her a "hero" and what makes her so "brave?" Because she was attacked by a shark she's a hero? Because she lived to tell about it she's brave? If she died she wouldn't so brave and she wouldn't be a hero. I'll give her credit for going back into the water and surfing again, but she's not the smartest student in class anyway. If you heard her talk on the news you'll know what I mean. America needs a real hero! Next thing you know Paris Hilton will be called a hero because she "over came" the porn tape saga. So if I were to get jumped by a gang and not die in the ensuing beat down...would I be a hero? Or does it have to be a calamity of nature? Like if a tree were to fall on me and I were somehow not to die in the process........then would I be a hero? And I'd say her days of competitive surfing are probably over now. Kinda hard to balance on a precarious platform like a surfboard with only one arm, much less try to swim in the ocean with it. And if someone came up to you and said "Hey, you almost died in a really spectacularly brutal way, we'd like to pay you to come to NYC and talk about your experience in front of millions of people and become rich and famous," would you say no? She has one arm, she is not getting commercial deals or model deals or movie deals (unless it's her made for tv movie about...a shark attacking her). One armed females don't sell. No other 13-21 year old female wants to see a one armed girl and no perverted 21-35 wants to look at a one armed 13 yr old girl. So which is sicker? The fact she is famous on these shows, or the fact that she is now officially unable to sell product in the eyes of Hollywood/media because she lost her arm?
