It's All Bennifer's Fault

Actor Ben Affleck confesses that the over-exposure from his high-profile relationship with fiancee J. Lo has damaged his career. He said "The combination of me and Jennifer as a unit became more important than the parts we did in movies." Aren't relationships about putting the partner first?

Affleck Has Had Enough

Hollywood superstar Matt Damon says his best bud understands if fans are tired of all the Ben hoopla. All of this year's publicity has made Ben sick of himself. Maybe losing "Celebrity Poker" and the "Gigli" bomb have lowered his self-esteem.

I like Affleck. I haven't really been watching E! or any of those other media trash shows so he hasn't been overexposed to me.

However he seems like a decent guy and.....I don't understand why he'd date trash like that.

I like Affleck to but, I think he and J-lo and that whole Bennifer were way overexposed this past summer during the whole wedding. And I blame it on J-Lo cause she was courting the media exposure. The woman is a glory hog and the wedding was a part of it.

Speaking of J-Lo

http://channels.netscape.com/ns/celebrity/...3-l1&current=23

J.Lo Gets Dumped

Hollywood's hottest lady has just been dropped by luxury designer Louis Vuitton. She's posed as the face of the elite this year, but apparently got a little too greedy to work with. Insiders tattled that Jen's prima donna attitude and desire for freebies were the reason, but Vuitton's official word is that it was only a one-time contract.

You can't even escape the Ben and Jen obsession on a board filled with people who claim to hate both.

I'm not one that hates both. I don't listen to Jennifer's music and I don't watch many of Ben's movies.

Ben has always been hurt by his habit of picking shitty movies. It seems as if he's more concerned with making an easy paycheck.

Can somebody explain to me with celebrities' obsessions over getting freebies? I mean, come on, if anybody can actually afford that shit, it's them.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but Paycheck doesn't look bad, and it doesn't look like it would be an "easy" way of getting a pay-check. Same with Daredevil in my oppinion(Although it seems alot don't like this movie.) I don't have anything against Ben, but J-LO, thats a different story.

I'm not saying he always does it, just that he has a nasty habit of doing it.

Changing Lanes and Daredevil are his only current examples of movies that weren't easy paychecks. Yes, I know he was good in the Kevin Smith movies, but that was more Smith writing good dialoge than Ben giving a good performance. I also think Paycheck will be another movie that goes in the category of "good affleck movie", but that remains to be seen.

I thought Affleck was solid in Boiler Room. Hey, he's never been the greatest actor ever, but until the last year or so, he was pretty harmless.

His biggest downfall was getting himself linked with J-Lo (read: "primadonna"). Maybe he can salvage some of his professional pride now that he's cut his ties from that albatross he called a fiance.

They should have learned from Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. They were in love, they were getting married. They starred in Traffic (which was a great movie), but the difference is their characters never interacted with each other.

Indeed. Ben is someone who doesn't have a "need" to be loved by the public and hounded by the media every five minutes. Jennifer, on the other hand, craves all the attention she receives. Apparently his mom brought this to his attention in September prior to their cancelled wedding. She reportedly asked Ben, "Is this the life you want for yourself? Can you really see Jennifer as the mother of your children?"

Nothing more reliable than "a source close to Affleck".

Gwenth Paltrow basically saying he will never be married because he has fucking issues takes a backseat to a "un-named source".

I don't like Lopez. Can't say that I always have (Out of Sight is still a great movie) but I think that the constant media overexposure has just killed any appeal she had for me. Plus she has the most overrated ass in the entertainment industry (no, not Affleck).

Affleck, I like, although I think he's trying too hard to become a MegaMovieStar. This thing with Lopez guarantees that he'll have to ride out the wave of bad press before things get back to normal for him - whatever normal is for an actor is, anyways. Honestly, I think that things like Celebrity Poker are probably good for his image.

Speaking of poker, did anyone see that chick Evelyn Ng on the World Poker Tour "ladies night" special?

No no.

Ben did just as well as Sammy did.

J.Lo Loses Louis, Denies Diva 'Tude

by Lia Haberman

Dec 12, 2003, 10:15 AM PT

Jennifer Lopez's bootylicious bod will no longer be draped in Louis Vuitton.

The superstar's run as the luxury line's pitchwoman has expired, and, if the gossip columns are to be believed, Lopez was dropped because her penchant for pricey freebies annoyed company execs.

La Lopez, who was the face of Vuitton's fall 2003 campaign, allegedly took tens of thousands of dollars worth of luxury goods after a photo shoot for the design house. J.Lo even sent an assistant back to collect a groovy pair of socks she'd forgotten, according to a source cited in the New York Post.

But a rep for Lopez calls the report "completely inaccurate," saying the campaign was meant to be a one-shot deal only. "It was a mutually fantastic experience for both," said the spokesperson.

Calls to Louis Vuitton were not returned.

Curiously, the diva-esque claims come as the former Fly Girl has rekindled her relationship with onetime manager Benny Medina, who has been credited with orchestrating Jenny's rise from the Block to Bling-Bling City. Last week, the two sides allegedly dropped dueling legal filings against each other. No word on a cause for the reconciliation.

Earlier this year, Lopez axed Medina. At that time, the 43-year-old manager was largely blamed for her most pampered demands, like her request for a fully equipped 45-foot trailer while shooting a brief cameo for a charity video benefiting 9-11 and AIDS victims and her insistence on all-white dressing rooms stocked with white lilies, white sofas and room-temperature Evian everywhere she goes.

Dubbed "The Mediva" due to his own love of all things luxurious, the ex-manager became the public fall guy for Lopez's diva image and was singled out as the reason for the multi-hyphenate's departure from the Endeavor Agency--her reps there released a statement in June saying they "were no longer able to work with" Medina.

Lopez's house cleaning this summer also extended to her publicist, Alan Nierob, who had reportedly advised the Latin sensation to tone down her diva demands.

Among some of the more outrageous requests the press have attributed to Lopez are her insistence on having her coffee stirred counterclockwise, employing lackeys to spray gardenia perfume in her path, refusing to sleep in any hotel bed that wasn't brand new and directing hotel staff not to look her directly in the eye.

But the woman who allegedly had Fenway Park security guards rope off a ladies room for her own private use insists that the public's perception of her is all wrong.

During a Dateline NBC interview earlier this year the Bronx-born babe tried to dispel her diva image, saying, "All I do, really, is go to work and try to be professional, be on time and be prepared...Then you hear all this stuff that people say about you. It can be hurtful," Lopez told interviewer Pat O'Brien.

"I think people are always surprised, when I go work on a movie or do something, when I show up and it's just me, my assistant and my driver. And they say, 'Well, where is everybody else?' This is it. It's just me," said Jenny.

The Misunderstood One, who's looking to bring out a line of lingerie next fall, just wrapped shooting on Shall We Dance? opposite Richard Gere. Then there are two Miramax flicks waiting to be released, An Unfinished Life with Robert Redford and Jersey Girl opposite Ben Affleck.

Bennifer's other half is on spin-control mode for his upcoming Paramount Pictures Christmas Day release, Paycheck. Rumors of another flop have prompted the studio and Affleck's rep into overdrive, insisting the stinker reports are "bulls--t!"
