The OAO Armageddon Prediction Thread

I love these things. We get to say who we want to win. We laugh at our mistakes. Good times for all.

 

Now, on with the long boring analysis:

 

Jericho and Christian vs. Lita and Trish

Buildup: Who'd a thought this would have been interesting. While fueding with Austin, Jeriho saves Trish from a beat down out of nowhere, and a relationship is born. Christian follows suite and everybody thinks this will turn out as another scheme by Y2J. But it doesn't! At least not at the beginning. But Trish found out about the bet, and now everybody wants to fight!

Analysis: We all know how this angle fumbled at the end, but you cannot question the effort of the wrestlers involved. jericho has been doing well teatering between face and heel. As for the match, if the storyline is good, it will be decent. Anything else and it will be crap.

Prediction: Matt joins in beating Lita and Trish, but Jericho's heart wins out and he lets the girls win.

 

Booker T vs. Mark Henry

Buildup: Booker T gets eliminated by the World's Fattest, Strongest Man at SS. On Raw he faces Henry to get his revenge... and wins? For some reason they keep on fighting.

Analysis: Henry is one of a number of people on this card whom have had questionable pushes. At best he's a midcard hoss, but does anybody really think he deserves to be the guy who takes out Goldberg and fights HBK? Booker T has been on a downslide as of late, so don't pray for any miracles.

Predicton: The Book scores the pinfall.

 

Tag Team Turmoil for the Titles: The Dudleys vs. La Resistance vs. Cade and Jindrak vs. the superheroes vs. Steiner and Test vs. Storm and Val

Buildup: It's chaos, tag team style! Cade and Jindrak piss off the Dudleys, Foley pisses of Steiner and Test, Rock pisses off La Resistance, and ,well, that's it.

Analysis: This is actually the best thing the WWE could do for the tag team division right now. With a longstanding dip in quality tag teams it's nice to have them all go out there and have a chance. With so many teamsexpect at least one of them to have a good match.

Prediction: Dudley's do nothing with it, Storm and Val just haven't clicked well enough together, and the superheroes have ben treated as an afterthought. That leaves 3 teams, and out of those I think Steiner and Test will get it, because they have to move on with something else and I think this could be it.

 

HBK vs. Ba(u)tista

Buildup: After fighting with everything he had to save Austin's job, HBK fell due to Batista's interference. And yes, now he want's revenge.

Analysis: Batista's greener than market-fresh produce. but that hasn't stopped HBK before from having a good match. I think this is gonna be above average at leat because HBK always surprises people.

Prediction: The Showstoppa has jobbed to another one of Hunter's pet projects, but not two. HBK wins.

 

RVD vs. Randy Orton for the IC title

Buildup: After RVD retained his title against flair, Orton got the idea to win the IC title. RVD may have been too hight o notice.

Analysis: A tale of two wrestlers. Randy Orton is WWE made, has "the look," has history with the company, and is now the pet project of the new Mr. Stephanie Mcmahon. RVD is ECW made, talks like a stoner, does not use WWE style, and is currently questioning whether or not to renew his contract due to the fact that he's been treated terribly in the WWE, and he knows it. If nything, expect it to be an interesting match.

Prediction: The WWE gave rob the IC title as a peace offering; he just saw it as another way of saying "You're not championship material." Expect the WWE's kind nature to end, and Orton to CTW.

 

Goldberg vs. Kane vs. HHH for the World title

Buildup: Goldberg suceeded again against Trips at SS, but Hunter still wants revenge. But he's not the only one. Kane, barely alive after fighting Shane Mcmahon, wants what he deserves: a chance at the World title. Who will win?

Analysis: Why o why does HHH need to be in every PPV main event? He's so busy he even no-showed the past couple of Raws. Just give it up, man. With three power wrestlers in the ring, t may not be pretty, but it'll be decent at least.

Prediction: Goldy keeps the belt.

I'm predicting that I'm going to order it in lieu of having a final on Monday. Then I'm going to hate it and bitch about how I shouldn't have ordered it and I should've studied for my final. Then I'm going to get to the classroom for my final the next morning before anyone else and go to the stage with no lights on. Although, I do kinda disagree with the ending of the Battle of the sexes. I don't know, it just seems like the face turn by Jericho won't be clear cut that quickly. Maybe he tries to hit Christian with a chair but accidently knocks the hell out of Trish or Lita. I don't know, it just feels like they may drag out his turn.

Goldberg vs. Kane vs. Triple H: I really, really don't care about this match. On one hand, I'd like to see Kane get the title or atleast have Kane look dominant, on the other, HHH sorta ruins it and makes me lose any interest in it. What is he doing in the match? Granted, I haven't watched Raw in awhile, but what doe shis presence add to the match and impending fued? Hardly anything as far as I know...

Rob van Dam vs. Randy Orton: - Randy Orton on his own, with a belt? I'm liking it, I'm liking it a lot. RVD does nothing for me any more and I'd much rather prefer that he was shipped to Smackdown for a change of scenery so there's a bit of freshness to him.

Orton having a belt of his own would help him a bit in his obscene push so he has actually accomplished somethign besides having a bunch of old guys job for him...I'd like to see a Jericho/Orton fued, might be interesting down the road and since Jericho obviously isn't world title material.

 

Shawn Michaels vs. Batista: There is NO way HBK comes out on top in this one. What's the gain to Shawn if he does win? Batista atleast will look big, "tough" ;)and at least as a force in the WWE, but Shawn will then look...good...still?

 

Mark Henry vs. Booker T:.........yeah, so...who cares?

 

Boy's vs. Girl's: ugh, what a stupid match. Atleast it'll help the storylines and it's a difference usage of the women, but...

Booker T VS Mark Henry is hard to tip. Henry's push may continue, but then again, the WWE may have realised their mistake to push him in the first place. I'll say Booker T. Wishful thinking? Probably.

 

Chris Jericho and Christian will win the 'Battle of the Sexes' match, or it will be a no-contest or a disqualification when Matt Hardy V1.0 does a run-in, setting up what has to be a better match at what has to be a better Pay-Per-View.

 

I feel that Shawn Michaels will put Batista over. No more to say there.

 

Randy Orton will become WWE Intercontinental Champion. No doubt. Or is there?

 

The WWE seem to like putting Tag Team straps around rookies' waists, so don't be surprised if Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade become the new WWE World Tag Team Champions in this Tag Team Turmoil match.

 

I think that either Goldberg or Kane will retain or become, respectively, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion/ship. Triple H has to just be in here for the Main Event pay-cheque, and I can feel Kane VS Goldberg at the Royal Rumble. Wishful thinking? I'll say Kane.
