Mole Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Let the predictions start for LoTR. 70+
Guest Skironox Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 What the hell is Somethings Gotta Give?
the pinjockey Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 5 day prediction for LOTR 175 mil. Seems like a disappointing number for Stuck on You. Of course, seems like a down week in general. Good to see Elf still hanging around.
the max Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Return of the King will outgross Titanic when it's all said and done.
razazteca Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Which one was the Jack & Keanu movie?
CanadianChris Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 What the hell is Somethings Gotta Give? That's that new Jack Nicholson movie.
Downhome Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 I highly doubt that, I don't think it has a fucking chance at it. Titanic = $600,788,188 Fellowship = $313,364,114 Two Towers = $339,789,881
Downhome Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Which one was the Jack & Keanu movie? People, it's SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE! Why can't anyone seem to remember what that movie is?
Brocklock Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 That rules that Bad Santa is doing so good. The movie was hilarious. I thought Stuck On You looked like crap so that's good that it didn't bring in a good number.
razazteca Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Stuck on you... SUCKED Stupid question #2 who is the star of that movie?
MooreMark Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Honey fell..not too surprised. I saw it and liked it. The acting was pretty bad for the most part but overall it was a fun teen movie. Exactly what teenagers want. Next up..Love Don't Co$t a Thing.
Lord of The Curry Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 100 mil by the end of Sunday for LOTR.
Downhome Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Stuck on you... SUCKED Stupid question #2 who is the star of that movie? Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Any movie with it's title based on a Jennifer Lopez song deserves to die a quick, painful, death. RRR: Waiting for "I'm Real"
MooreMark Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Well, it's going to be up there for atleast one week as the teen movie.
Mole Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Any movie with it's title based on a Jennifer Lopez song deserves to die a quick, painful, death. RRR: Waiting for "I'm Real" Mariah Carey actually....
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 LOL, I was referring to "Love Don't Cost a Thing"... but Honey should die too...
Guest El Satanico Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 It's just a different worded version of Can't Buy Me Love which is the 80's movie which has the same plot. Why are you people so obsessed with Jennifer Lopez?
Guest El Satanico Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Mona Lisa Smile will do some big business. LOTR: ROK will do $122 mill
Mole Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I'd actually go see Mona Lisa Smile. It's the Julia Stiles love.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Why are you people so obsessed with Jennifer Lopez? It's more a hate towards movies with (recent-ish) song names for titles. I'd be equally annoyed if it was called "Oops, I did it again", or "In da Club". I liked Lopez in Jack
pochorenella Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Return of the King will outgross Titanic when it's all said and done I highly doubt that, I don't think it has a fucking chance at it. Titanic = $600,788,188 Fellowship = $313,364,114 Two Towers = $339,789,881 Even after all the hate that Episode I & Episode II get, and all the love and praise Lord of the Rings get, Episode I grossed over $415 million and Episode II did $310 million, so both LOTR movies paled in comparison to Ep.I and barely outgrossed Ep.II
Downhome Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 There is no way in hell, NO WAY that RotK will beat out Titanic for the #1 spot, it just will not happen.
Downhome Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 By the way, here are the top ten predictions from BoxOfficeMojo. If you ask me, they look about spot on. 1 THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING $108.1 2 MONA LISA SMILE $16.6 3 SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE $11.4 4 THE LAST SAMURAI $9.4 5 STUCK ON YOU $6.2 6 ELF $4.7 7 BAD SANTA $4.6 8 THE HAUNTED MANSION $4.2 9 LOVE DON'T COST A THING $3.9 10 HONEY $2.9
Zack Malibu Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Love Don't Cost A Thing was pretty good. Not hysterical funny, but a good redux of Can't Buy Me Love (it even says in the credits it is based on that screenplay). Plus, Melissa Schuman, who was the blonde girl in the pop group Dream, is in it, and HOLY SHIT did she ever sprout some ta-ta's. I'm happy I went to see this just on account of that.
2GOLD Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Honey was just Glitter meets Save the Last Dance And if that isn't a combo from hell then I really don't know what is. And why the hell did I quote that box office report at first? Moron.
Tawren Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I predict RoTK will have around a 120 mil 5 day, really picking up steam over the weekend.

Critics gave it lots of hype.
