The WWE PPV DVD Thread

Recommended Posts

Unforgiven 2003

- no extras

- RVD, Kane, Lita, and Gail's themes are kept intact (including on SSeries)

- The Dudleyz are STILL edited though

No Mercy 2003

- OMG, after 3 previous WWE DVDs of being extraless...NO MERCY HAS EXTRAS!!!

They are:

Cole Interviews The Big Show

Cena's Battle Rap With Some Fan

The Shit Segment from SD

and The Kidman / Moore Heat Match

- Benoit, Hardy, and Gowen's themes are kept intact (Same with Benoit at SSeries)

Survivor Series 2003

It has extras too:

Survivor Series Moments Confidential Segment

Making of SSeries 2003 Commercial

Lillian Interviews Chris Jericho

Los Guerreros Locker Room Pep Talk

Lillian Interviews Randy Orton

Austin / Michaels Locker Room Conversation

and the Noble / Tajiri Heat Match

- OMG, Build A Bridge got edited out of the DVD! Its some generic rock instrumental now. They even cut off the Goldberg / HHH Build-up video in the middle where Goldberg is to come back and beat up Batista

So there you have it, in case anybody on here was wondering. Were there any noticable botches on any of the matches on these PPVs because I haven't noticed any camera angle changes yet?

What about the original Super Padded Tombstone Piledriver of Death that Kane used on Shane? Did they show it from the front or the back during SS DVD? I bought the PPV and they showed it from the front then the back during the replay.

Awe, Kane's Tombstone was edited to show from the back. :P

How much did you pay for the DVDs?

About $20 each.

Oh yeah, you can see me perfectly on the SSeries DVD from time to time. Look for a guy in a bright ass green pimp suit to the right of the screen. :D

Did they leave on the match of "Flesh vs Steel" when Benoit's head hit the chair in the match agaisnst A-Train?

LOL, no, Benoit / A-Train wasn't cut out. They zoom away for some reason when his head actually connects with the chair and THEN zoom in. Yet you can see the original angle of the fuck-up on the replay perfectly. vb_sweat2.gif

They also edited Benoit's fuck-up on the Sharpshooter (he had a little trouble trying to put his hands into place).

Actually, I think Benoit also did that a week or two before when he put A-Train in the sharpshooter. I just thought it was putting over the fact that it's hard to put on a sharpshooter with someone that big.

So I was watching KOTR 2002 yesterday.

*hears the "God, why?" reactions.

Anyway, during the video package, Undertaker is on his "You will respect me!" spree. He's kicking the crap out of Randy Orton and guess who comes to make the save...

...you got it. It was HHH. The irony.

Why is Bookers theme edited out? He's been using it since 1994, and is a cheap WCW production theme I thought.

Nope, Booker's is stock music, much like why they don't always use Flair's and probably dropped the old Hardcore Holly one.

The best known source Booker's music can be heard on non-wrestling that I can think of is in an old Kids in the Hall sketch.

That sucks their editing music, I knew they did it with some songs on the games, but I had no idea on the DVD's. Thats sorta weak, I think Holly's old song is a normal song, I know if you see the beavis and butthead dvd collection ad on TV, you can hear it as the theme music.

You did your little *shudder* thing after you mentioned that you bought Armageddon.

Why did you waste your money on a show that you obviously had little desire in viewing?

I knew it was bad, but I still try to be a real "fan". Plus I want to get the 2003 WWE DVD box case.

Booker's theme is production music which needs to be paid for (If you check your SmackDown insturction book, it has the production name of the music and has to give credit for using it - which is why the game WMX8 did not - it's also been called 'Rap Sheet' and has been used o nthe TV show Kids in the Hall). Booker's theme was edited on home video release between Backlash and Bad Blood, but returned at SummerSlam (with Kane and RVD's themes as well - Vengeance was the DVD that started putting all the themes back after 3 months of dubbing). As Rico mentioned, the Dudleyz have been the sole dubbed over music exception lately. Well, Armageddon came out and we're back to generic Booker music, and the DVD was released after Booker switched to his Originals music, which pretty much spells out the fact that WWE have decided to make Can You Dig It his full time theme, not just a 4 week ad for the CD.

Deon, did your copy of Vengeance have the POP? I was cutting them out one by one the other day and thought I had somehow lost my Vengeance one, then found out via IRC that I needed to call WWE and have them mail me one.

No, that you mention it...Nope. I just realized that the other day. Thanks for the reminder.

Unfortunately, they didn't have the MNW, but I'll get that when RR 2004 comes out on DVD in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, I bought the Stone Cold Truth and Greatest Hits and Misses:

Okay, so everything Braves stated about SCT is right, but some more notes about a few of them:

Stone Cold Truth

Hollywood Blondes vs. Arn Anderson & Ric Flair (06/17/93, Clash of the Champions XXIII) - It begins at the opening bell, but Ventura is dubbed out so it hurts the match a bit with Tony just talking by himself.

Intercontinental Title Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Owen Hart (08/03/97, Summerslam, Austin wins title) - The full match in its entirety including the isle entrances and Austin beratting on Michael Cole beforehand.

Stone Cold toasts a beer on Vince McMahon's birthday (08/24/03, Summerslam) - I've been waiting for so long for this to be released, unfortunately, they cut it off after everyone sings "Happy Birthday" so The Big Show's hilarious Show-a-roonie, the roster congratulating Vince and giving hugs and handshakes, Austin and HHH's joke session, Pat Patterson's "My Way" performance, and the McMahon reunion won't be seen by you guys. :(

Mick Foley's Greatest Hits & Misses

Everything extrawise has been covered in the other thread, unfortunately all his Attitude matches are blurred, but they are in their entirety including the HIAC match against the Undertaker along with his match against the Rock on RAW where he won the WWE title for the first time.

Maybe because they don't own the entrance music? LOL

I was really impressed with Amazon today. I placed my order for MNW 10 days ago and they said it may take awhile due to it being sold out, but it ended up shipping last week. I ordered the Rumble DVD after a trip the US on Saturday failed to find it, and it shipped on Sunday. Both arrived today, which is an all time quickness record (the Rumble, anyway) in Amazon getting me something. Would have been real great if I didn't work 12 hour midnights and just woken up at 3, having to leave for work again.. right now.

I did have time to watch MNW, and that was a fun feature. Some hypocricy (Foley complaining about how one night WCW made Goldberg look inept, the usual talk about WCW not allowing the new guys to break through...) but over all I thought it was well done.
