Guest undisputedjericho Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Once again, the same two Giants are going as last year, even though Shockey has been out 4-5 weeks now.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Terrible rosters this year. Hasselbeck deserved a nod over Favre and McNabb as he's played well all season unlike the other 2. A lot of the guys on defense like Sapp didn't do much of anything this year as well.

WHat needs to be pissing people off is Warren Sapp. WHAT in the flipping fuck did he do?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 18, 2003 McNabb wasn't really lighting the world on fire till a few weeks ago though. And it took him till about week 6 or 7 to climb out of the basement QB rating wise and his TD/INT ratio is terrible at 12/9. Favre is an equally bad choice to me as he seems to make a bad play for every good play he makes. And honestly has Sapp done a damn thing this year?
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Dat Nguyen should have been there for sure. I am pleased to see 4 Cowboys, but Larry Allen does not deserve to be going. Sapp on the team is just a joke.

the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 BULLSHIT! Two Eagles go and Troy Vincent is one of them. I love Vincent to death, but his selection is the epitomy of reputation leading to pro bowl berths. McNabb I would say deserves to go, because really NFC QBs aren't lighting it up so his great last two months gets him in. But lets look at screwjobs here: Michael Lewis - he held that secondary together when it was made out of loose string and duct tape. Mark Simoneau - He has been terrific in the middle Corey Simon/ Darwin Walker - I think one of them (both shouldn't go) deserves to go over Sapp, but they are getting worn down the last month or so, so I wouldn't really go to the wall for them for Pro Bowl. And the biggest screwjob award goes to........ BRIAN WESTBROOK He is in the top half dozen in TDs in probably half (if that) that amount of touches. He is one of the top 5 most dynamic players in the NFC this year. And he is the savior of the NFC's top team's season, with that punt return in NY. There should have been a spot on the team somewhere for him.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 You could make a case for LaDanian Tomlinson, but it's not as if Lewis, Holmes and Portis are unworthy...
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 You could make a case for LaDanian Tomlinson, but it's not as if Lewis, Holmes and Portis are unworthy... LT's in the wrong conference. I rate him ahead of Green and Davis in the NFC, but the three AFC guys are all having better seasons.

I rate him ahead of Green and Davis in the NFC, but the three AFC guys are all having better seasons. To be honest, I think that Green would be Pro Bowl bound if he were on an AFC team as well. Still, Tomlinson is just unlucky that 3 other guys in his conference are having damn good seasons as well...
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Is Culpepper really having THAT great a year that he should be STARTING the probowl?
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 I'd also say Bailey's selection is mostly based on rep too since he was not nearly as good this year as he was 2 years ago. I'd argue that Fred Smoot has had a better year, however since Smoot covers a team's #2 reciever, I guess you would have to give the nod to Bailey.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Interesting year for my team. Made it: Ruben Brown and Takeo Spikes. How Brown keeps making it (8 straight) on an O-line that hasn't been average in years is beyond me. Spikes was good...but he wasn't even the best LB on the team this year IMO. But London Fletcher isn't even an alternate. Alternates: Sam Adams and Pat Williams. *shrugs* They were good. This is fine. Brian Moorman. SCREWED. Best punter in the NFL. Didn't make it: Fletcher was the best player on the team this year. Antoine Winfield still can't sniff an alternate spot despite his 100 tackles...many of which were for losses. They should make a special category for him since he's never going to pick off the ball...but he's the best tackler and makes more big plays. He's a LB who can cover. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Is Culpepper really having THAT great a year that he should be STARTING the probowl? Besides Hasselback there isn't another QB in the NFC who's put up the numbers Culpepper has. The reality is NFC QB is pretty weak this year. 5 AFC QB's could easily start for the NFC. Guest Bottled Black Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Can someone explain to me how Mike Barrow didnt make the team, He's only leading the NFC with 132 solo tackles. Which also places him tied for 4th in the NFL. Yet Urlacher (30 less tackles) and Brooking (15 I think) are going ahead of him. I understand that the Giants had a terrible year, but I think Barrow definitely should have made the team.

Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 w00t~! Eight Ravens go, and all of them are deserving. It just makes it that more frustrating to think that the team went out and laid such an enormous fucking egg against the goddamn Raiders...
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 I agree with HoganMadeWrestling. Dat Nguyen should have been there for sure. Favre getting picked just boggles the mind. Hasselbeck played way better than Favre, and I'm pretty sure he's put up better numbers. Let's find out: Favre GS ATT CMP Pct Yrds YPA TD INT RTG 14 420 274 65.2 2846 6.78 27 20 86.3 Hasselbeck GS ATT CMP Pct Yrds YPA TD INT RTG 14 452 272 60.2 3347 7.40 23 12 89.0 Hasselbeck has ~500 more yards, 8 less INTs, and a higher QB rating. Favre has a better completion percentage and 4 more TDs. I think the big difference is that Favre cost GB at least one game (against the Eagles). I'm not sure if you can blame Hasselbeck for any Seahawk losses. Instead, blame the wacky referrees or Darrell Jackson dropping the ball.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 McNabb doesn't have the numbers deserving of making the Pro Bowl. Sorry but the Pro-Bowl is based on stats, not what your team does.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted December 19, 2003 My team (Browns) had.....zero. NOBODY! And the sad part is, I can't even get mad because no one on that team deserved to go. Sigh. But hey, maybe we can either get Ben Rothlisberger or Eli Manning in the draft! Or Chris Perry. Jts someone who can put some points on the board. I was damn sick of seeing "CLE O" on sports tickers all year.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 McNabb doesn't have the numbers deserving of making the Pro Bowl. Sorry but the Pro-Bowl is based on stats, not what your team does. ...and THAT is what's wrong with the Pro Bowl. How can anyone say that a QB thats a front-runner for the MVP isnt on the Pro Bowl roster? Or a Safetly that came to a new team and became it's LEADER and has been dominating all year? I understand Ed Reed is awesome and all but Harrisson has had much more of an overall impact on the Patriots Defense as a whole.

C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 How the fuck can anyone justify putting Warren Sapp in the pro bowl. He's nothing more than a mouth and a distraction. I'm going to get a good laugh next year at whatever team is dumb enough to pick up his contract.

I understand Ed Reed is awesome and all but Harrisson has had much more of an overall impact on the Patriots Defense as a whole. Like I said there are QBs with a better TD/INT ratio than 12/9. It also took McNabb close to half of the season to climb out of the basement for his QB rating and he's still in the mid-70s. There are several QBs that have had way better seasons and Hasselbeck is one of them.

Guest Rob Van Dam Report post Posted December 21, 2003 Dat Nguyen should have been there for sure. I am pleased to see 4 Cowboys, but Larry Allen does not deserve to be going. Sapp on the team is just a joke. Nguyen is the first alternate at Linebacker in the NFC. They should of put four running backs in the AFC on the team, besides Tomlinson's rushing this year he also has 86 catches.
