Guest glennsoe Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Just wondering who won the awards they were going to be passing out at this weeks show; the TNA 2003 Year-End Awards will be presented in the following categories: Babe of the Year Finisher of the Year X Superstar of the Year Match of the Year CM Punk has a few words to say about Teddy Hart at some point during this show! Uh oh! - What was this about ?? Can someone please help out `?? - Glenn -
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Finisher of the Year: The Styles Clash (AJ Styles) Babe of the Year: Trinity Match of the Year: The Ultimate X X Superstar of the Year: Michael Shane I have a feeling that this was somewhat rigged
King Cucaracha Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Match of the Year: The Ultimate X X Superstar of the Year: Michael Shane What? Oh boy, some people* are gonna be unhappy about that. *=the whole folder
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Why wouldn't they have awards for the non X wrestlers or tag teams? How could Jeff not want to give himself the award for wrestler of the year, heel of the year, face of the year, owner of the year.......?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Michael Shane?! HA! That makes me laugh. Chris Sabin's reign was over huge, and he was the last big break in the X-Division in TNA that I can remember. Kazarian bombed. Michael Shane sucks and has no Heat. X was quickly jobbed out. Sonjay Dutt isn't much unless he gets to show off his charismatic side and spots. Those are ones off top of my head, and I'm sure theres some others.
Tawren Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Finisher of the Year: The Styles Clash (AJ Styles) Babe of the Year: Trinity Match of the Year: The Ultimate X X Superstar of the Year: Michael Shane I have a feeling that this was somewhat rigged The last three make me laugh.

Seeing as Trinity was the only female around just about, its hard to say she would lose. We've had Tracy for a few months, and that chick who managed The New Church with Mitchell for a few weeks and thats it. And no, no one likes Goldysucks
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Rigged poll? And people wonder why I refer to TNA as "WWE Lite."

But the last two make me guffaw non-stop.
Astro101 Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I voted for Lollipop since she sucks lollipops.
JHawk Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Actually, the last two are even more mind-boggling when you figure that NWATNA's main fanbase is probably smarks. At least when WWE rigs a poll there's an outside chance of blaming it on marks that don't know any better.
Ted the Poster Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Finisher of the Year: The Styles Clash (AJ Styles) Babe of the Year: Trinity Match of the Year: The Ultimate X X Superstar of the Year: Michael Shane I have a feeling that this was somewhat rigged The last three make me laugh. If they're gonna call the Styles Clash finisher of the year, it should be the STYLES CLASH '03!~(copyright Dames) specifically.

Guest JacK Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 How did he get X-Division superstar of the year? He ain't not no X-Division wrestler. That's crazy talk. They're crazy. Although he does do an elbow drop . . . that's pretty damn X-Division ya know. I voted for Trinity . . . and the Ultimate X is the only one of those match's I actually saw, and it was alright. Wasn't as great as they're hyping it I thought; but if you hype something enough, people will eventually believe you. See, they keep telling us Shane is X-Division, eventually we'll believe them, and we'll all be walking around with Michael Shane shirts and little red flags that say 'Shane' . . . you never know. Plus those hat's with the drinks on either side.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I would have voted for lollipop as well
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Do you people realize that from a markish point of view, Shane is without a doubt the X-wrestler of the year because of his long title run? If you look at it as if it's real, then he wins no doubt.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Not really, since from a MARK's standpoint, Shane's only kept the belt this long thanks to interference and cheating. I voted for Sabin as X-Division Wrestler of the year, because this WAS Sabin's year. Awesome title reign, carried Shane and Kazarian to numerous watchable matches, and had a TNA MOTYC with Juventud Guerrera.
AnonymousBroccoli Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Ultimate X was the X Division MOTY (which is still a little kooky, and reeks of Ultimate X2 promotion ). I imagine they'll have overall MOTY on this week's second Best Of show.
Mystery Eskimo Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Trinity is hot. But yeah, Sabin should have won the X division, he's been excellent.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Yes, they do. But how many marks will think of TNA when you say "professional wrestling"? Very, very few. The fact is that TNA's fanbase is the Nashville regulars (all 5 of them that paid to get in) and the IWC (which is chock full of smarks).
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 If you look at it as if it's real and not pre-determined, then Michael Shane is without a doubt the X-wrestler of the year.
Michrome Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 TNA barely even tries to play the game of acting like its real. Most of their fans are internet fans, and most of the live crowd craps on Michael Shane every time. The Hardy Boys were voted tag team of the year by WWE fans in 2000 despite having a horrible win/loss record, fans look at the entertainment factor, not wins/losses. Your view of marks is condescending....most of my friends are marks, but all of them that are over 7 years old know it's fake, and don't judge things by the outcome.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 If you look at it as if it's real and not pre-determined, then Michael Shane is without a doubt the X-wrestler of the year. How? If it's real, then he's won by nothing but CHEATING, and then should not be voted. If it was real, why wouldn't Chris Sabin, who NEVER LOST THE BELT VIA PINFALL OR SUBMISSION, be looked at as X-wrestler of the year, since he had the greatest title reign this year? I'd like you to explain your point, because I can't see how you're making any sense to even yourself.
