Giuseppe Zangara Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Well, shit. The audio from one of our CD players is fucking up.
justsoyouknow Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 This all seems like excellent road trip music, for some reason.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I'm going out of town tomorrow, and a lot of the songs I'm playing tonight ended up on a mix I made for the trip, so, yeah.
Sandman9000 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 If I gave a shit, I could record my radio show. Course, that requires me actually trying to put on a good show for once. Fuck that. Unas Slayer of the Gods and a ten minute bathroom break.

Fuck that. Unas Slayer of the Gods and a ten minute bathroom break. I'm recording this show to our hard drive, which we use to play programs on a loop for whenever no one is on the air. Technically, we're not suppose to record "specialty" shows--format, only--but the rules are a little lax during the winter break. And my show's normally two hours, so I've played epic tracks for the sake of piss break.
justsoyouknow Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I'm intrigued by this whole "radio show" concept. Do you have to own these CDs yourself to play them, does the station supply them, how does it all work? Does the playlist have to be pre-approved?
Giuseppe Zangara Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I'm intrigued by this whole "radio show" concept. Do you have to own these CDs yourself to play them, does the station supply them, how does it all work? Does the playlist have to be pre-approved? The rules vary from school-to-school, but the basics are this: There are two types of shows, "format" and "speciality." Format is all the current stuff, supplied by record promoters, which we play and chart to CMJ (College Music Journal). Speciality is when you bring in your own music and play that.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Oh, and I'm wrapping up, so here's the setlist: The Delgados--"No Danger" Leonard Cohen--"Chelsea Hotel #2" Rollerskate Skinny--"Speed to My Side" Yo La Tengo--"I was the fool beside you for too long" White Stripes--"Hotel Yorba" Mercury Rev--"Boys Peel Out" The Beatles--"Happiness is a Warm Gun" Bedhead--"The Unpredictable Landlord" Tom Waits--"16 Shells from a 30.Ought Six" The Wedding Present--"Dallience" Prince--"It" XTC--"Crocodile" Wire--"Too Late"
1234-5678 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Speaking of jokes, The Doors. They are a joke. You bastard............. "LA Woman" and "Five To One" are two of the greatest songs ever recorded.
justsoyouknow Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I still need to hear "Johnson sucks". I feel so left out for giving Inc the idea, then not reaping the benefits.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I still need to hear "Johnson sucks". I feel so left out for giving Inc the idea, then not reaping the benefits. Feh. On the off-chance that more than a couple of people were listening, I thought I'd give them a different program. It's still me, though!

Zack Malibu Posted December 29, 2003 Author Report Posted December 29, 2003 So I go to eat dinner and play some NHL 2004, and when I come back, we're talking radio, and Johnson gets a shoutout? Now I know how RoyalBlue felt when the "Real TSM" thread exploded every time he wasn't around.

The Kid Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Well....I'm gonna attempt to be on-topic... I should stop cussing so fucking much.
justsoyouknow Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I think Johnson is typing out a well-thought, well-versed reply that will tear all of us a new asshole for sullying his good name.
Guest Just J Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Sorry to let you down, but I was just gonna say that the music was horrible and I didn't even hear the stupid little comment.
justsoyouknow Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 ...I was wrong. And, if that music was "horrible", what would you consider "good"?

I'm so fucking close to giving to my fucking dog to fucking chew on.

HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I don't know if it's the Doors I hate, or Morrison in general. Probably both.

That's the same way it is at our station as well. I do a speciality show as well, but we also get a shitload of metal CD's (as well as techno, hip-hop, R&B, etc...) so I generally use those, but I go to my own collection when I wanna play some rare/odd, such as Ten Masked Men or Sepultura w/Lucianno Pavarotti.
Zack Malibu Posted December 29, 2003 Author Report Posted December 29, 2003 Throw some O-Town on that tracklist, Sandie.
EL BRUJ0 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I still need to hear "Johnson sucks". I feel so left out for giving Inc the idea, then not reaping the benefits. The "johnson sucks" (the new catch phrase that needs a dead horse beating) was short and sweet. As for the music, it's not my thing, but of what I heard, it didn't make me want to turn off my computer.
Zack Malibu Posted December 29, 2003 Author Report Posted December 29, 2003 Wow, swerve. When I saw Brujo's name in this thread, I thought he was gonna put "I think this thread is ghey."
