pappajacks Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I dont live in the USA, but from what I've been reading in the last few months, it seems like Hilary Clinton is a lock for the 2008 election. It's her election to lose. Which begs the question: can she actually pull it off?
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 No, she can not. She has little national appeal and it's likely she won't even get relected for her Senate seat. Her big problems are she's too far left, not well liked by her own party to boot, and she has the stink of the Clinton Presidency stuck to her. The only way she has national appeal is if Big Willy's off cheating on her and she has the sympathy card in her favor.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 A woman? Maybe Dragon Lady? No. Alot of people love her, but just as many people (if not more) hate her guts.

Condoleeza Rice is probably, presently, the woman with the best shot of ever winning the office. -=Mike
Internet Warfare Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 If there is a Female president some days I hope its Condalisa(sp?) Rice.
Cartman Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Condoleeza Rice is probably, presently, the woman with the best shot of ever winning the office. -=Mike Not a shot in hell.
2GOLD Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 A woman? Sure, of course. Hilary? Hell no, lots of women have no respect for her and I'd vote for Jeb Bush before I voted for her. But of course a woman will be president someday.
Guest MikeSC Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Condoleeza Rice is probably, presently, the woman with the best shot of ever winning the office. -=Mike Not a shot in hell. She's non-controversial. She's a minority. She's a woman. She is highly intelligent. It might be a bit hard for the Dems to nail her for anything, seeing as how she is hardly hated by the left establishment. -=Mike
Guest Smues Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I have no problem with a women president. I DO have a problem with Hillary as president, and I have this bad bad BAD fear she's going to win in 2008. She'll have the support of a lot of women just because she is a women.

bobobrazil1984 Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I dont know, I thik HIlary has a shot. Most Americans really dont care too much about politics, jsut who sounds the best, and has name recognition and occasionally your party. It will depend more on who runs for the Republican party. If its Dick Cheney or Colin Powell or John McCain or something then Hilary has a fight. If its someone "new" (someone whose name is not recognizable to the public) then Hilary has a much better chance.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 I'll be surprised if we get a female president before we get a black president. And I don't think Hilary Clinton has a wing or a prayer for winning in 2008.

If its Dick Cheney or Colin Powell or John McCain or something then Hilary has a fight. She is unelectable on a national level. -=Mike
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Hilary won't even get the nomination unless she goes up against a creampuff lineup in the primaries. If she's up against Al Gore then forget about it.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I think "Hitlery" Clinton has a better shot at winning than a Republican woman. Not beucause we on the right aren't ready for a woman president, its just that I don't think there are any TRUE conservative women candidates out there. Rice seems to be the only viable candidate. We need more Margaret Thatcher and less Elizabeth Dole. EDIT: Oh, and does Hillary actually have a shot in 2008? It depends on how many illegal immigrants will be allowed to vote.
Jobber of the Week Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 TRUE conservative women What do you consider true conservative women? The most traditional Conservative view of women is the housewife who does inconsequential housecleaning and talking on the phone with friends, while the man does the work, takes the credit, and makes the mark upon the world. The way Dean has been grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory, I still think there's enough time for Hillary to run in and steal his frontrunner position.
Firestarter Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 I worked directly under Dr Rice for a little over two years and I can say without hesitation that she would be one of the finest presidents we ever elected. Whether or not she'd be willing to stand, though, I couldn't say.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 The main questions I would have with Rice are charisma and electability. Aside from that, she's a pretty strong candidate: experienced, intelligent, unlikely to have much baggage from the past.

Vern Gagne Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Look out China during Madam President's time of the month.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 If Hillary runs I hope she gets a shot. From an assassin’s bullet. Well, there goes my New Year's Resolution -- thanks a bunch pappajacks...

Honestly. They seem to be the nutjob kind of conservatives that listen to Michael Savage on a regular basis, though.

Highland Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 No, we're more likely to see a hispanic of black male president than a white female.
