OK, they've done off the deep end

Recommended Posts

Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but wasn't it Himmler's doing that began the Hollocaust? I was under the impression that Hitler merely wanted the Jews to be in a state of servitude within the concentration camps, then he went to Himmler and said that something had to be done about the "storage problem", leaving Himmler and his secretary (Heidenreich?) to come up with the plan.

At least, that's the way that I remember it. I could be entirely wrong, but the way I remember learning it was that Hitler wasn't the one who orchestrated the deaths of 6-11 million Jews.

My god, no wonder Hitler committed suicide! When he found out what had happened under his watch, he couldn't live with himself anymore!

I'm sure his suicide had NOTHING to do with the fact that he was utterly surrounded and defeated.

I'm sure my reply has NOTHING to do with being sarcastic in response to you somehow implying that Hitler bears no responsibility for the Holocaust...

They have ADS THAT DIRECTLY COMPARE BUSH TO HITLER.

They have ads where they use kids WAY too much to put out their message.

I've lost every drop of respect I ever had for Jack Black as he is one of the judges for this crap contest.

I want to see ANYBODY on the left defend this bilge.

I'm sure idiots at pandagon.net (conservatives, check out the site --- FAR LEFT whackjobs) would love it --- but I'd like to believe that are leftists here are somewhat more sane.

        -=Mike

drudgereport.com has a report on all of this.

For someone who claims to be the most moderate poster on the board, you sure tend to be just a *tad* biased towards defending anything conservative....

Or bashing anything on the left. Not that this isn't stupid, because it is. But the point is that there's really no point in bringing it up. You asked all those evil leftists to try and defend this, yet agreeing with this site has nothing to with political ties. It has to do with having your head up your ass, or not having your head up your ass. You can insert a joke about liberals having their head up their ass LOLVOTEBUSH2004~! but it would just be stupid. I now await a petty insult coming my way, and please don't disappoint.

Actually CNN did a small bit on this not that long ago covering that it was gonna go on and who the judges were gonna be, so this isn't something that is going on in secrecy. But looking at the ads...

Run them. Swear to God, run them every day 24 hours if you want; It'll be the best endorsement the Republican party has ever had because frankly, whoever makes those types of ads are the ones that normal people do NOT identify with. I say more comparing him with Hitler, less developing platforms to run on! That's the motto of the Democratic Party 2K2~!

Exactly, I think that if those ads are run it will only give the Republicans better press and the like.

I don't get the bit with judges, as the link isn't working for me for some reason. Surely someone like Jack Black can't be involved with this shit. SAY IT AIN'T SO~!

By the way, I thought that the whole Bush=Hitler thing was just something a few fuckups said in other places on the net. For some reason that sentiment runs rampant in high schools though. It's scary.

Jack Black is a judge, as is Garofalo, Moore, et al. I was shocked by it as well --- and more than mildly chagrined. C'est la vie.

And, no insults here. I will just say that if ANYBODY on the conservative side was APPROACHING this level of idiocy, people here would mention it. Heck, Clinton never faced character assassination of this degree.

I don't think Bush has faced much worse than Clinton in terms of the legitimate media. I mean what the hell is this site, where are these ads going to be played?

The only thing people make fun of about Bush is his intelligence, but that's just a joke and everyone understands that he's an educated man. They don't go to the point of making specials about it, like the numerous ones they did on Clinton and Lewinsky. Hell, Monica Lewinsky is a household name.

Soros is POURING money into this project. Do you really think these ads --- the Hitler ads won't be aired as the ADL has already read them the riot act --- won't air? Even the ads that are still alive just reek of child exploitation.

Watch the South Park where they discuss Starbucks v small mom-and-pop coffee shops. Those ads are almost the same thing as the jokes in that episode.

With the Hitler ads, yes. I think the idea of BushIn30 is to try and bring about some of the mudflinging loudmouth politics that the Democrats don't have on a national level. You guys have Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, our side has generally been too spineless to get dirty.

I think airing, say, this ad would have great sucess. The Hitler ad, no. The Bush Mask & Peter Pan mockup commercial, no. Regardless, all this does is give the contests and ads more visibility, like when everyone complained in the 60s about that ad that showed a girl pulling petels off a daisy suddently switching into a video of a nuclear explosion going off.

Interesting that this sort of topic would arise, because in the Monday edition of the New York Post, there was an editiorial basically comparing Dean to Hitler. Some excerpts:

But Howard Dean and his Deanie-weenies do all they can to restrict the free speech of others. I can predict with certainty that Dean's Internet Gestapo will pounce on this column, twisting the facts and vilifying the writer, just as they do when anyone challenges Howard the Coward.

Dean wants to muzzle his Democratic competitors, too. He believes the Democratic National Committee should shut them up. His followers try to intimidate other presidential aspirants by surrounding the cars delivering them to their rallies and chanting to drown out their speech. Of course, Dean denies any foreknowledge or blame.

These are the techniques employed by Hitler's Brownshirts. Had Goebbels enjoyed access to the internet, he would have used the same swarm tactics as Dean's Flannelshirts.

Dean was already practicing the Big Lie. Montreal was just a stop on his journey from Munich to Berlin. He was already looking around for his Leni Riefenstahl.

A better article: Dean's Undoing? by John Podhoretz

He generated a properly scornful laugh for announcing he would balance the federal government in "the sixth or seventh year of my term" - a statement that's an act of disrespect to voters because it presumes not only that he will be elected in November but reelected in November 2008. He looked baffled and more than a little rattled by the laughter, a deer-in-the-headlights moment from which he did not easily recover.

Ah yes. I remember the confused look of stunned, directionless anger on his face as the audience, panel, and stage simultaneously erupted in an incredulous burst of "What did he just say?!" laughter. All Dean could do was look around and mutter "What? What?"

Worse yet, Dean baldly lied in a way that may come back to haunt him: "You better go look what I said about Saudi Arabians tipping off the president," Dean fumed to John Kerry, who brought it up. "I said I didn't believe it, and I said it right on that show."

Here's the totality of what Dean said on Diane Rehm's National Public Radio show on December: "The most interesting theory that I've heard so far, which is nothing more than a theory, I can't - think it can't be proved - is that he was warned ahead of time by the Saudis. Now, who knows what the real situation is..."

Do you see anywhere in this quote an assertion that Dean "didn't believe it"? (He did use those words on "Fox News Sunday" a week later, after a firestorm erupted on the matter.)

A good point. Look for Dean to be crucified on this one later in the primaries, and if he wins the nomination anyway, it'll decimate him in the general election.

Another article: Truth or Consequences - Can Howard Dean lie his way into the White House? by Brendan Miniter

Even Democrats are figuring out that this isn't the way to go. Joe Lieberman pointed out that the average family of four in Iowa saves $1,800 a year thanks to the Bush tax cuts. "I don't know which is worse, that [Mr Dean] wants to repeal the tax cuts, or that he won't admit that they ever existed," Mr Lieberman said. John Kerry jumped in later on to ask Mr Dean why he keeps saying things that are obviously not true or indefensible.

A quick look at the real status of the Pell Grants, and another reference to Howard Dean's "sixth or seventh year" as President of the United States (God forbid). Focus, Mr Dean, focus. Try winning the primaries before assuming you'll be elected and re-elected...

OMG NEW YORK POST~!!!

Let's join in with more Dean articles from Radical Right Wing Rags!

One of Dean's first initiatives as governor was to champion Bill 160, sweeping legislation meant to address the health care problems he inherited. But instead of undoing the price regulation that had been slapped on the insurance industry, Bill 160 went further. The legislation aimed to establish state control over hospital budgets, create a statewide insurance pool, and form a new health authority to coordinate it all. Instead of scrapping community rating, the legislation expanded it. Premiums wouldn't be based on age at all, but would be one-size-fits-all. Thus, a 20-year-old worker in perfect health would pay the same premium as a 60-year-old man with heart disease and emphysema. Much of the legislation was eventually dumped, but not community rating. "We fought that tooth and nail," recalls Tory Bunce of the Council for Affordable Health Insurance, an

advocacy group for small businesses and insurance carriers. "We predicted that premiums would go through the roof."

They did. And no wonder. If homeowners' insurance were regulated the way Dean regulated health care, residents could insure their houses after they caught fire. As a result, young, healthy people dropped their insurance, numerous insurance carriers left the state, and the percentage of uninsured Vermonters approached 14 percent.

What does Vermont health care look like today? It's a mixed picture. The percentage of insured citizens is relatively high, but so are Medicaid rolls. It's not clear that Vermonters can sustain the state government's spending. Projections suggest that in Vermont Medicaid will run a $98 million deficit by 2008. And insurance premiums are sky high. "I'm paying a lot and getting little choice," a self-employed Burlington resident told me. He wasn't kidding: To cover his wife and himself, he pays $5,000 a year for a plan with a $1,000 deductible. Because most carriers have left the state, there are only a few insurance companies left in business.

Hey, did you know where the only place to get that Hitler ad was?

The RNC web site. The rules state all the ads hadd to be suitable for television, but the RNC got ahold of it and put it on their site.

Well, it's good to know the DNC didn't have this on their web site

Actually, when Drudge posted the story, the link took you to the moveon.org page WITH the ads on it. They have since taken them down after the controversy.

My mistake. I must have mistaken. I didn't know it was the GOP who said that a vote for a Republican is a vote for lynching and church burnings. I didn't hear Republicans stating that liberal opinion led to a major terrorist attack, but I could've easily missed it, I suppose. Thank God the Dems avoid the meanness, huh?

That ad WAS offensive --- and the Dems thought so, also, as it was only aired one time.

Cheerfully stolen from Imao.us Finally, someone has broken down the points and has pretty much shown that Bush is not Hitler:

WHY BUSH IS PROBABLY NOT HITLER

by Frank J.

While it is very hard if not impossible to prove a negative, i.e. Bush not being Hitler, I will do my best because I believe that he is in fact not Hitler. After doing some research, I found out that Hitler was born in Austria in 1889 and died in Germany in 1945 (coincidentally, the same year WWII ended). George W. Bush, on the other hand, was born in America in 1946 and, to my knowledge, is still alive. That by itself seems to be ample evidence that Bush could in no way be Hitler. But there is even more evidence against Bush being Hitler. Hitler was known for having a mustache and being hatless, while Bush is clean-shaven and wears a cowboy hat. That's quite a stark contrast. Also, Bush speaks garbled English, while Hitler spoke angry, angry German. Hitler was also known to kill millions of Jews, while Bush has killed no Jews that I know of. It is rumored that he once punched an Episcopalian, though. And, while Hitler liked to kill oppressed ethnic minorities, Bush want to kill terrorists, who are under-oppressed criminals. Furthermore, Bush has deposed evil dictators, while, presumably, Hitler would want to be buddy-buddy with fellow mean people and probably play golf with them. Also, when Bush has invaded a country, he's established democracy there while Hitler would probably want to do mean evil things to the people and not let them vote. And Hitler starred as a loveable tramp in a number of silent, comedic movies, while Bush has shown little comedic acting ability in his two Barney Christmas movies. Finally, Hitler would kill anyone who spoke out against him while Bush doesn't kill any of his dissenters despite them really, really asking for it.

So who is Hitler? Anyone ever think that maybe he's Howard Dean? I don't know what year Howard Dean was born - as I don't feel like looking it up - but it could be the same year as Hitler! Notice how both "Howard" and "Hitler" start with an 'h'. This could be a subtle hint... from Hitler! Also, if you shaved Hitler mustaches, restyled his hair, and made him a lot angrier, don't you think he'd look a lot like Howard Dean? And I've never heard Howard Dean say not to kill millions of Jews. Furthermore, I'd really like to punch Howard Dean supporters just like I'd like to punch the supporters of Hitler, the Nazis. And what did Howard Dean do during the Vietnam war? He went skiing, just like Hitler. Finally, why was Howard Dean against deposing Saddam Hussein? Maybe it was because he was afraid next they'd be after other evil dictators like himself, Hitler.

In conclusion, the evidence shows that it is very unlikely that George W. Bush is Hitler, but there is ample conjecture that Howard Dean is. Please pass this information to people who it might interest like those at Moveon.org and the Democratic Underground. Thank you.
