Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted January 15, 2004 That's my point exactly; there's zero substance to what they said. Wow, Bush sucks! Such insight! Such wit! Truly this is a grand moment of intellectual discovery! I love when O'Reilly has these Hollywood/Music types on and he makes them look like total morons when he actually makes them, you know, defend their stance with more than just canned quips and phrases. Wow. You mean O'Reilly makes someone ELSE look like a moron? In all seriousness, he's not much better than the celebs he "embarasses." He's a glorified populist. I just like the show. He brings up issues of actual relevance and then critically analyzes them. Say what you will about O'Reilly the person, but the SHOW is good. Heh, just like the moron celebrities that hate Bush and never back it up with anything more than personal attacks; the people that hate the O'Reilly factor simply hate O'Reilly's personality. Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 Actually, the reason why O'Reilly pisses me off is because he defends his "views" more often than not with misrepresentations of statistics, or just pure bullshit. However, I take most of what any radio personality, or TV personality, in political commentary less than seriously. When they start spouting off they are 100% right, I have an issue. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 (edited) I'm sorry but I lost any little respect I had for them when one of the quotes said something along the lines of "we're not all sinners". That's funny...I guess they think they're perfect now??? And the line about "this year showed how stupid the republicans are", funny I guess they soon forgot everything stupid some democrats have done this past year. Both parties have been stupid. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 But you have to remember, these people weren't at this event to have a strategic debate. They were having an awards show in front of a bunch of people that hate Bush. I mean it would sound kind of silly for them to get up there one at a time, and read off a bunch of statistics and then get out. I would categorize this more as a pep rally with comedic overtones. No one on this board is shot down because they throw a cuss word or two, or a million in their post, so why should the people at this event be labeled morons for using cuss words? kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 This is the same Cho that compared the Washington monument to a giant dildo. (I'm not offended by this remark; I just thought it was incredibly unfunny.) But remember, she's blacklisted because she's Asian...

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 Well that's just silly. Unless our hour was up, I would have never kicked her out of the room. Okay. But what am I going to do with this script? *looks at paper, grabs eraser, and rubs out VYCE. Writes in OREILLY* Hmmm..... You know, looking at it, I think this will work even better. Truly this is a grand moment of intellectual discovery! They're speaking to a crowd of their own. I don't think they needed to convince anyone in that room. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 Ugh. I barely got past the first entry. Uh, yes you are fat and yes you are Chinese -- that all you talked about in your two very unfunny stand up specials I had the misfortune of watching. Too bad she wasn't living in China and her parents already had that country's quota of kids they were allowed to have...

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 15, 2004 * "Son of a Bush and his crew is at it again, because, we do not want 8 years run by a Colon, a Bush and a Dick." He spent all day thinking up that gem.
Styles 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 *"I'm Al Franken. I'm here to present the funniest ad award. I'm a last-minute substitution, former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill was supposed to be the presenter, but unfortunately he was murdered." Ok, now THAT is funny! The rest of it was typical garbage. I love irony of * "I think this last year has just proven how stupid Republicans are." (big applause) after going on an ignorant rant where she couldn't even get her facts straight. Yeah and the Hitler>Bush comment is just so darn offensive it doesn't even need to be acknoledged.

No offense, but making a celeb look like a blithering idiot simply entails sitting to the side and letting them speak. Newsflash to actors: Just because WRITERS write clever dialogue that you speak does not make YOU clever. Stiles? She may be nuts --- but I'd hit it. Oh yeah, I'd tap it like a keg. SHABLACKA! I can tolerate Franken because he's actually funny here and there. Moby? I never liked his music? Stiles? Her next good movie will be her first. Cho? Did ANYBODY watch her show? She's like Whoopi Goldberg --- a woman who is called a comedienne with no actual basis in fact. -=Mike

Actually, I thought she was Chinese because she said that in her blog -- I guess she was being sarcastic. Like I said before, I didn't read that much of it because my stomach was starting to churn... I liked her sitcom that was on briefly 9 or 10 years ago but one thing always bugged me: they were supposed to be a Korean family but the actor that played her mom was like Chinese and her dad was Japanese and I think the grandmother wasn't even Korean either. NOW I'm confused even more!
Guest JMA Report post Posted January 17, 2004 No offense, but making a celeb look like a blithering idiot simply entails sitting to the side and letting them speak. The same could be said about O'Reilly. But I do see your point. A large number of celebrities just don't know when to shut up (though there are always exceptions). I don't praise O'Reilly, but I will say that he outshines almost anybody in Hollywood. Admittedly not high praise, but that is the way it is. -=Mike
