Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 To coincide with the DVD release for Freddy vs. Jason, I been bit by the Ft13th bug again and was thinking about some of its moments and crap. Best in the Series: I'll say the Original, although Jason isn't the killer. For Jason killings, I'll go with the 2nd because it meshes well as a sequel. Worst of the Bunch: I'll say it's a tie with Part V and Part VIII by both being really stupid. Favorite Kill: Too many, but a funny favorite is him killing the guy in the wheel chair with a machette to the face, sending him down a bunch of stairs. Also Jason knocking the guys head off with one punch in VIII is pretty funny. Favorite Weapon: The good ol' fassion, trusty Machette. Dumbest Finish: Part VII's sequence with the psychic chick who moves things with her mind. LAME! What are everyones favorites/least favorites?
2GOLD Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Worst: Jason goes to Hell Should have been called the series goes to Hell cause Jason as a parasite was just horrible. And VORHEES RELATIVES?!?!? That movie made my brain hurt. And Jason was in it about 20 seconds and a KNIFE kills him?? It was lame.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Worst: Jason goes to Hell Should have been called the series goes to Hell cause Jason as a parasite was just horrible. And VORHEES RELATIVES?!?!? That movie made my brain hurt. And Jason was in it about 20 seconds and a KNIFE kills him?? It was lame. Funny enough thats the only Jason movie I've never seen. I forgot about Jason X in the stupid department. Only "horror" movie I laughed at the whole time.
LooseCannon25 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 If you wanna laugh at horror movies go watch House of the Dead, I was with my girl and was laughing hysterically the whole time and unable to stop. Anyway, back to the topic, I think JAson goes to hell is the WORST by far.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 To coincide with the DVD release for Freddy vs. Jason, I been bit by the Ft13th bug again and was thinking about some of its moments and crap. Best in the Series: I really liked Part 1, 2, and 9. 6 would be my favorite. Jason goes to Hell Should have been called the series goes to Hell cause Jason as a parasite was just horrible. And VORHEES RELATIVES?!?!? That movie made my brain hurt. And Jason was in it about 20 seconds and a KNIFE kills him?? Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Okay, yeah, I didn't like the fact that Jason wasn't in his normal form for most of the movie and I didn't like the sister coming out of nowhere deal either, but if you just look at the story, it all made sense, so I'm kinda glad it went the way it did. And it wasn't just any "knife", it was the same mystical knife from The Evil Dead. Worst of the Bunch: I'll say it's a tie with Part V and Part VIII by both being really stupid. I agree since in Part 5 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): It wasn't even Jason, it was just a fucking copycat thinking he was Jason and in Part 8 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): They don't get to Manhattan until like the last 10-15 minutes of the movie which most takes place in the damn sewers. Most of the movie and killings happen on a fucking boat that's on its way to Manhattan. I didn't like Jason's ability to "teleport" either. I won't include Jason X since it really wasn't meant to be taken seriously in the series in the first place. With that kind of "plot"? I mean, COME ON. I liked most of the deaths in the movie and its such a great film to have a good time with friends who watch it with you. Favorite Kill: Part 3 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): machete to the crotch of the guy who liked to walk on his hands. Favorite Weapon: The weird buzz saw weedwhacker thingy from Part 6(?). Dumbest Finish: Part 3 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): An axe to the side of his forehead "killed" him after a fucking rope hanging him from the second floor of a barn didn't kill him? Now THAT is lame!
DangerousDamon Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 My favorite has to be part 6. This one has some of the most brutal kills ever. The Rv head smash, nuff said.
Slayer Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 My favorite non-Jason kill is in V when the fat guy talks shit to the guy chopping wood, then turns around and gets axed right in the back
Slickster Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 In Part V, the New Wave chick was originally scripted to take a particularly painful deathblow: a machete to the crotch! They filmed this scene, but didn't even bother to show it to the MPAA because they knew it wouldn't pass. The kills in Part VII were HEAVILY edited, and that's also why Jason's in shadow for most of the film due to the extreme grotesqueness of his appearance in that film.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I like that one where the nerdy camper girl is sitting on the road eating a banana and Jason just machettes her in the skull. Either Jason wanders off or gets lost because he's a good ways from the Camp with that kill.
Guest Askewniverse Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Worst: part V, with Jason Goes to Hell at a close second. The only thing that I liked about JGTH was Jason getting ambushed by the FBI. Favorite Weapon: The weird buzz saw weedwhacker thingy from Part 6(?). The tree-trimming saw? That was part VII.
Slickster Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 My favorite is Part IV (TFC) because it's got a lot of great Jason moments in it: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): the banana girl, the corkscrew, the projector, the doorway guy, and the 'falling down the machete' sequence that was cut in the UK.
Guest Chaplin Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 You know I have to say in my humble opinion my favorite death I think came in either 5 or 6, when Jason just grabs some girl in a sleeping bag and starts swinging her against some trees. now I've heard lots of Movie geeks say "Hey they've edited that down so much there like no blood anymore!" So what! I mean just the sight of the impact is brutal, and now thats how I want to go when I die.
Nighthawk Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Actually I think that was in part 7.
Guest Chaplin Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Seven the one with the girl with magical powers right (I say magical powers because I don't know how to spell psychic with out a dictionary) seven six or five it doesn't matter. still a cool death, and I keep thinking six because thats the first one I saw, with the guy ressurcting Jason from the grave, and then later on it has the best line ever Guy is ducking down into girls crotch as they drive like manics and so he won't be seen, when the girl says. "Watch out this might be hairy," so imature it's funny and stupid
Lil' Bitch Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 The tree-trimming saw? That was part VII. Thanks, I knew it was either in 6 or 7.
Youth N Asia Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Best in the Series: I like II and VI. Worst of the Bunch: VIII or IX...hated 8 cause it took them forever to get to NY, and the ending was bad. And 9 just licked balls. You can say Jason killed all of those people...but unless he's in the mask (or sheet like II) it isn't Jason. Favorite Kill: I love the dude walking on his hands, he looks up, and Jason just reigns the machette down on him. Favorite Weapon: Machette. Gotta stick with what works Dumbest Finish: The damn one where the girl's dead daddy pops out of the water and takes Jason under.
dubq Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I don't see how anyone can't consider 5 one of the worst, if not the worst of all the F13 movies. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I mean, sure, it's a Tommy Jarvis storyline, but Jason isn't even in the movie.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Best to Worst: 2,6,4,1,7,3,5,8,goes to hell, X
Guest Goodear Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 As the guy who worte Friday reviews for TSM until I got tired and haven't written anything in a month... Best in the Series: I would go with III myself because Ali OWNS YOUR FACE! Seriously, I like the characters... even Shelly a little. Worst of the Bunch: I thought Jason Goes to Hell wss the worst myself. I didn't have the least bit of a problem with there being a fake Jason in V since he ACTED just like Jason until you found out he wasn't. This doesn't make me cry. Favorite Kill: Alice in Part II Favorite Weapon: Spear gun from Part III Jason has mad aiming skills Dumbest Finish: Why people think psychic powers are lame in a movie about a ZOMBIE I'll never know. This one goes to 'Takes Manhattan' for the flooding toxic waste sewer OF DOOOOOOOOOOOM!
chaosrage Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 What the hell was bad about 5? So what if it didn't have Jason? He was just like jason. This is just as stupid as the people that hate Halloween 3 because it didn't have Michael in it. Best to worst 6 7 1 5 4 8 2 3 9
dubq Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Meh, it just killed the mystique of the entire movie [5] for me...
Guest El Satanico Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 You guys know that they're actually working on a Friday the 13th DVD boxset? From what I hear some of them may be uncut.
dubq Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 What the hell was bad about 5? So what if it didn't have Jason? He was just like jason. This is just as stupid as the people that hate Halloween 3 because it didn't have Michael in it. Wait, how is it the same? Halloween 3 had NOTHING to do with the series whatsoever. There were killer Silver Shamrock masks, not a fake Michael Meyers... I just didn't like F13-5 for it's ending..
Zack Malibu Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 The sleeping bag kill was indeed in Part 7. My favorite kill of all time. Sadly, they just HAD to parody it in Jason X during the holodeck sequence.
EdwardKnoxII Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 My problem with 5 is that the guy got hit with alot of stuff that would have hurt or killed a human being but, this guy who isn't Jason gets right back up. Unless the mask gave him some kind of power but, even that seems tacked on.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Since they went with every Manhatten city stereo-type they should have had an alligator eat Jason as well. Was it ever established how Jason made it back to Camp Crystal? I mean I'm sure nobody is going to give him directions and he doesn't have bus fare.
theintensifier Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 "You know I have to say in my humble opinion my favorite death I think came in either 5 or 6, when Jason just grabs some girl in a sleeping bag and starts swinging her against some trees." HAH, I loved that part. "You guys know that they're actually working on a Friday the 13th DVD boxset? From what I hear some of them may be uncut." That'd be sweet, I'd buy it. "Since they went with every Manhatten city stereo-type they should have had an alligator eat Jason as well. Was it ever established how Jason made it back to Camp Crystal? I mean I'm sure nobody is going to give him directions and he doesn't have bus fare." LOL
dubq Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 My problem with 5 is that the guy got hit with alot of stuff that would have hurt or killed a human being but, this guy who isn't Jason gets right back up. Unless the mask gave him some kind of power but, even that seems tacked on. Even the goalie mask they used looked retarded in that movie..
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I mean I'm sure nobody is going to give him directions and he doesn't have bus fare. It'd be hilarious if he did. They show a montage of him looking for directions to some soft music, then somone just gives him bus money, he throws on his hat and trenchcoat, and enters the bus to the theme song from Mary Tyler Moore. He sits down, looks at the person next to him, double takes and then puts his head on their shoulder and rides off into the sunset.
