Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2004 I saw BLS once live. Great. Zakk Wylde got hit in the head with one of those long plastic beer things (the ones that resemble an hourglass more than a bottle). Mid-solo. He didn't miss a beat or a note or anything. ZAKK. IS. YOUR. NEW. GOD. Well thats hard: Mustaine Staley Wylde

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted January 22, 2004 I find myself really starting to not like BLS at all. I've always thought Zakk Wylde's vocals were a craptified Phil Anselmo, but I don't mind him when he shuts up and plays. I think the shit that annoys me the most is the list of "by-laws" they placed in one of their albums, and the whole us vs. them image they try to represent regarding popular music, when they're on just as many goofball commercial abortion tours as bands like Limp Bizkit and Staind. As soon as they drop a cd that's not only catchy, but ingenius, and a departure from their usual sound (unless it's some heartfelt midtempo metyl ballad atrocity), my opinion might change. DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2004 It's official. Mars Volta is opening for APC. Everyone, go do yourselves a favor and go see APC with the Mars Volta. I might as well grab a sniper rifle and peg off every one of their members, never ever making horrific music ever again (I'm talking about Mars Volta) Care to elaborate? Or are you just being a cynical metalhead? I find their music is very, well boring. Nothing gets me interested in them Same here. Saw them at Reading and they bored the hell out of me. 15 minutes later, I decided to see the Alkaline Trio instead, who were great. Later found out that Mars Volta played a half hour long jam, which is the most arrogant, pretentious thing to do at a festival. Don't think I was alone in leaving their set either
Sonic Reducer 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 In that case, the hell with the Bonnaroo Festival. Mars Volta jamming actually goes somewhere, unlike Phish jamming where playing a chord for 40 minutes is the highlight of the show and people actually think it's workable. But to each his own. Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Ehh, I find The Mars Volta just a boring, sloppy, overlong mess. I liked the album the first few times I heard it, but it QUICKLY got old. Fuck them.

haVoc 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Aerosmith/Cheap Trick staind > aerosmith cheap trick should headline that...that entire tour depresses me. Staind is better then Aerosmith? Give me a break. Plus, I love Cheap Trick, but more people pack a house to see Aerosmith then them. That's the funniest thing I've read since the British press claimed Aerosmith back out of a performance with The Darkness because they were scared of being upstaged. Guest whatitistoburn Report post Posted January 25, 2004 I think staind are a fairly good live act, albeit nothing spectacular. Three Day's Grace is actually doing something now? Who thought ripping of CKY leads places. My upcoming shows: DILLENGER ESCAPE PLAN/The Locust and Sevendust/Ill Nino/Life of Agony/Element 80/FLAW/Apartment

Guest mesepher Report post Posted January 26, 2004 a few points: Phish never played Bonaroo... they're much too big to play a festival like that. They hold their own festival, anyways. As far as Bonaroo goes, I want it to die. Neil Young will most likely be performing his new album Greendale in its entirety, with stage actors and everything... pick up that album and love it. Expect 3-5 Crazy Horse rockers for encores, though.
