MooreMark 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 I wish they would vote for who goes rather than who stays. You're supposed to vote for who is best, and while their might be 3 good ones, the middle of the pack ones don't get as many votes, but the shitty ones have people trying to save them by voting for them which keeps them in longer than they should be. The last sentence hit it dead on. That's why last year was soo good. Atleast when people did bad there fans would not go crazy and vote hysterically, they would realize there best is done and theres no hope. I'm scared that John Stevens or Camile may surpass someone they really shouldn't.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 Bumping this. This week's theme is apparently the King of Queens, Sir Elton John. So I'd expect that Jon and John should have better performances. Certainly ol' redhead can't be any worse than last week. I'm picking Camille to go again, but I should point out that I kept picking the FudgePackers to lose in The Amazing Race 4, and they won the whole damn thing, so I MAY end up wrong with my prediction... RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 Yeah, I thought acronym and red would do really well this week, but shit, did they pick the wrong songs.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted April 7, 2004 Mostly everyone sounded pretty bad tonight....except George and the last two girls. Dean Martin guy was probably the worst.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 I only saw Diana and LaToya. Diana was okay and LaToya was great. I'm voting for her this time around.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 My TV's sound decided to stop working last night, so it made for some interesting TV watching. Needless to say, American Idol was not particularly interesting to watch with no sound. But Jack Bauer manages to become more bad ass when you're just reading captions. Anyways, my coworker filled me in, and she said it sounded like Ol' Red has thrown in the towel (not literally). Can anyone confirm?

Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 Judging from how others have reacted to his performances that I really haven't seen, I'd HOPE so... If that kid doesn't get voted off this week, I don't know what is wrong with america. Camille gave a horrid performance, but at least she was hot while she was doing it. Diane was sick, but I have liked her every other week, so I will give that a pass. Fantasia, George, Jennifer, and Latoya were the only ones that good/great performances last night. But come on, as soon as they grouped him in with Fantasia, you knew he was staying.

WTF Basically he's this year's Josh the Marine, getting votes because there's something likeable about him. Josh stayed in because of the war sentiment, and John's in because, well, he's a nice guy who doesn't really fit in with the rest of the group. Now, if the phone lines were set up for who you wanted to vote OUT, he'd probably be gone, but it's set up as a popularity contest, and he stays in. And yeah, I think that there's something wrong when a guy phones it in, wants out, but people keep him in.
MooreMark 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Everyone is dead on with there comments on Redhead. You can kind of say the same thing for JPL, who is beginning to look/sound like he doesn't want to be here. My favourite is Jennifer Hudson. And She did amazing 2/3 nights ago. I could stand everyone except Redhead going farther than Jennifer. But since next week is movies and Hudson shines with disney songs..I could see her blowing us away again. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Go George! The great thing is.....even if he doesn't win.....George has a contract out of this. I know he does. God I hate Fantasia. Her singing is way to whiny and she can't take criticism at all. Simon: I thought you did very good. I have one minor criticism though...... Fantasia: YOU CAN KISS MY ASS SIMON! I HAD FUN DOING IT! BITE ME MOTHERFUCKER!

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Well Randy and Paula also have a lot of bias and it's sad. That one girl that had no business whatsoever in the competition. Leah Labelle. She sucked. Badly. And Paul was going to do everything in her power to get her into the competition. I bet Paula went crazy that night she was voted out. "Stupid americans! She's a star!" starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I could stand everyone except Redhead going farther than Jennifer. But since next week is movies and Hudson shines with disney songs..I could see her blowing us away again. "Movie Week" can generally be translated as "Bryan Adams/Dianne Warren songs". I do actually like Adams pre-Everything I Do though, so I wouldn't mind if someone sang "Heaven". For the record, "When You're Gone" with Mel C. is also a guilty pleasure of mine. John Stevens SHOULD be able to find a song to sing here. Not that it matters, as he'll probably stay on. But maybe this week he can, I dunno, make it look like he wants to be there? At this point I'm hoping for George or Latoya to win the whole thing. Yeah, Fantasia's a good singer, but her sass is really starting to annoy me. Still not as much as Diana - who I hope will go away sooner rather than later...
justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 If it's any movie, then Deano should do "Singing in the Rain"...or maybe a song from one of the Rat Pack movies.

The show is going to be on wednesday night with the results show on thursday. I heard this on the fox this morning on their morning news. Unless the President is black and dealing with a crisis in LA (again), I really don't want to see him at 8pm CDT... I suppose this means I can try and get my DSL fixed though... justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 btw folks, if you haven't heard, there's a guest judge this week, and his name is Quentin Tarantino... Buh? Redhead hasn't given ONE good performance. Bullshit. He's only been bad the past couple of weeks. He did great on "King of the Road", as well as doing a pretty damn good Billy Joel song (well, on the results show, anyway). Elton John week, he sucked, and how the fuck can you expect him to do good on Soul week?
starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 btw folks, if you haven't heard, there's a guest judge this week, and his name is Quentin Tarantino... Buh? I'm pretty sure the reasons are twofold: 1) He was in the audience last year, so I guess he's a fan. 2) He's got a movie of some sort coming out that he just might be trying to promote. Mik 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 Quentin Tarantino just PUNKED Diano Degarmo. She sang "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, and he said. "You hit all the notes, and you sounded good, but so what? You sounded alright, but I didn't care. I felt like there was glass between us. Could you have picked a song we were more sick of hearing?" That's not an exact quote, more of a paraphrase...but he killed her.

Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted April 15, 2004 "That's the best i've seen those lips put to use" *wink* -Simon Cowell Call me crazy, but I think Fantasia gave Simon a Hummer. Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 I dig George's soul voice, but he was off-kilter at the beginning. JPL actually has found his niche with the funky crazy rock songs. Yeah, he's a damn geek, but he'll stick around a few more weeks because well, he flaunts it and it worked this week John Stevens did good, but his one trick pony isn't as mainstream as JPL's. Layota Jackson? The girl who belted it out? Damn...fastly becoming the best. I'd put money your final four will be JPL, George, Latoya(if that is her) and Fantasia
