Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 you gonna accept that he didn't have a chance to get anything than apathy Yeah, ok, but that's because WWE Thinking, whichyou cant chage, states that a guy his size can't get over. AND THAT IS STUPID! Tough Don't you get it? They have Paul London- a guy who has been compared to Ricky Steamboat and is great at capturing a crowd- and they waste him like that. It's depressing In order for tha angle to have worked -a cruiser would have to have been on the other side of the ring against Brock - and you would have complained no matter who it was - which my inital point - you lot hang onto cruisers for no reason
bob_barron Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Uhhh no- You act like it's Paul London's fault he didn't get over on SD! And now you're totally backpedalling. I guess going to the WWE folder didn't make you smarter.
Guest Dids Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 - you lot hang onto cruisers for no reason Maybe, just maybe, it's because we like good wrestling.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I'm happy in my job, and I'm still a pain in the ass Smartmarks universally despising his attempt to still be on top Thanks for missing / ignoring my points. HHH is still over. Therfore the bookers should book him well aswell??? He's been booked well since came back from his injury. Booker T hasn't.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 AND THAT IS STUPID! Tough Now there's a counter-argument. In order for tha angle to have worked -a cruiser would have to have been on the other side of the ring against Brock - and you would have complained no matter who it was - which my inital point - you lot hang onto cruisers for no reason What was the angle trying to accomplish?
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 And who's the current Raw Champion right now? None of the Raw champions in the last year or so will be around in 5 years, so why should shows be booked around them? Whether you people like it or not, HHH is always gonna be around. He has a say in booking - so he'll have say in who's champ. I wouldn't be surprised, or mind, if HHH was still going in a few years. You act like it's Paul London's fault he didn't get over on SD! It's his fault he ever thought he had a chance being his size

bob_barron Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I think Brock being a big scary monster was established when he demolished Spanky and Cripple Boy

Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I like the product!!! Which was my first point - I seem to be the only one, and that bothers me
k thx Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 you gonna accept that he didn't have a chance to get anything than apathy Yeah, ok, but that's because WWE Thinking, whichyou cant chage, states that a guy his size can't get over. No, that has nothing to do with it. The reason London didn't get over is because he was brought in as a jobber. Small wrestlers, such as Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels, have been booked as legitimate threats in the past. You're just putting two completely different facts together, and acting like thats your answer.
snuffbox Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Hey kids! Do you know who that is? Kids: Who?! It's a Gimmick Poster! YAY!!! Oh, the Gimmick Poster! He likes to act like a jackass By going to a message board And saying unpopular opinions! Oh, the Gimmick Poster! He really is a jackass! He never defends his arguments He just says everybody else sucks! There he goes, off to the Puro Board! Kids: Goodbye, Gimmick Poster! We'll miss you! *sniff* --------- Man, I don't know where I came up with that. this guy is right... dave the journalist is a gimmick...meant to piss people off. his opinions correspond with what is not over in the wwe. we know that people under 250 and wrestlwe CAN draw. we know that the marks like wrestling matches, the late 90s exposed kayfabe to them and now they want to see good, athletic, pro wrestling matches and intelligent storylines. we know this. vince mcmahon doesnt realize it. dave is a gimmick...kinda funny gimmick, but not really.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Which set up for his Undertaker feud quite nicely. Uhm...No. Ok then, Brock is a big scary monster ,period
Lil' Bitch Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I like the product!!! Which was my first point - I seem to be the only one, and that bothers me No, your point was to flame bait. Nice try though.
Tawren Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Which set up for his Undertaker feud quite nicely. Uhm...No. Ok then, Brock is a big scary monster ,period Which is why he runs from Spary Plug! It's GENIUS.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 No, that has nothing to do with it. The reason London didn't get over is because he was brought in as a jobber. Orton was brought in as a jobber and booked as one on SD
Mole Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I like the product!!! The only thing I like that they are doing is the push Cena is getting, but that is about it.
HarleyQuinn Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 You act like it's Paul London's fault he didn't get over on SD! It's his fault he ever thought he had a chance being his size WHAT!?! It's not his fault he was that size. Also maybe if he was given say 6 minutes instead of 2 and god forbid, got in a bit of offense he'd be fairly over with the crowd who you said was "dead" before admitting you watch the shows with the sound off. Also when London was making token appearances on Jakked prior to signing a contract he wrestled a match against Justin Credible(IIRC, or somebody like that) and was pretty damn over with the crowd considering they had never seen him prior and ya know why? He was given offense and given time to pull off some moves, shocking I know.

I can't see both of them still wrestling 5 years from now, but both still booked as strong top faces.

It's his fault he ever thought he had a chance being his size Clever the way you sidestep my counter argument., but HHH will not be wrestling in 2009 because of injuries, he'll still be in the business, but not in the ring. And as for the future of wwe, Orton's definately part of it, but he's not the next big thing (pardon the phrase), that title belongs to people like Conway and Dupree and Cena, among others. Orton may in fact earn his way into main event status before or by then. Who do you think is going to be around in five years? Eddy? Benoit? Jericho? 90% of the roster on either brand will likely not be wrestling five years from now, much less still be employed be wwe.

Wow, then you must have REALLY liked what they were doing in 2000, because that year was amazing.
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 No, that has nothing to do with it. The reason London didn't get over is because he was brought in as a jobber. Orton was brought in as a jobber and booked as one on SD He wasn't over then, either. They put him on Raw, gave him a "cool" gimmick (RNN), then made him 1 of HHH's running buddies. I'd say Orton got a bigger chance than London has.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 And as for the future of wwe, Orton's definately part of it, but he's not the next big thing (pardon the phrase), that title belongs to people like Conway and Dupree and Cena, among others.
