ArkhamGlobe 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 If you don't like it, and are fairly weak or disabled, I'll fight you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thankfully (?) that seems unnecessary, as I'm really liking the album thus far.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 Good lad. I think that even though 'This Town...' is the best single ever to get into the UK top ten, 'Equator' is my favourite.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 "The Hallowed And The Heathen" by Send More Paramedics "The War Within" by Shadows Fall "No!" by They Might Be Giants, an "album for all the family", where TMBG essentially write a load of songs for kids. Still utterly charming. "Red, White And Crue" by Motley Crue "Flesh And Blood" by Poison "The Grotto" by Kristen Hersch "The Truth About Cats And Dogs: Original Soundtrack", because I am very sad, although I will use the fact it contains decent songs by Ben Folds Five, Paul Weller and the Cowboy Junkies to disguise my worrying obsession with this film

PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2005 Got Echo And The Bunnymen's Crocodiles, having heard most of it, and really, it isn't that good. I also think the British Sea Power Comparison (even though they aren't absolutely brilliant or anything) is a bit misguided.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2005 The last two albums I bought: The Wedding Present's Seamonsters, which is, in line with what its adherents on this board have said, really fantastic...and the Road House soundtrack. Best $4 I've spent all week.

I also think the British Sea Power Comparison (even though they aren't absolutely brilliant or anything) is a bit misguided. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm thankful that I'm not the only man in the universe that finds Crocodiles underwhelming. I actually find many of their full-albums to not be GODLY like some would have you think, though the singles compilation I have is a necessity in my everyday life. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2005 Gentlemen, thumbs up. I love the Afghan Whigs. All this chatter about Cold Roses being on the level of Heartbreaker makes me actually want to buy a Ryan Adams album. WTF indeed.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2005 10cc - The Best Of The Early Years My dad said 'I think if you like Sparks you'll like them' and I see what he was getting at. Pretty good. Smog - A River Ain't Too Much Love Good, but much more unashamedly country than his previous output. Not his best. The Fall - Grotesque Good stuff, though I'm glad I waited till I found the remaster with the extra stuff for £5.
Guest Van Mundegaarde Report post Posted June 8, 2005 I just bought all the Super Furry Animals reissues as well as the Singles Songbook, partially for Ice Hockey Hair and the single version of Something 4 the Weekend, but mostly just because i resent it being the only full length SFA release I didn't already own. godthedog 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2005 in the last week or so: sonic youth - goodbye 20th century i know i'll need to be in exactly the right mood to listen to this one, and i haven't found myself in that place yet. common - be i could stand for a little more variation in the overall sound, and the last track sinks into hokiness (all the little kids' soundbytes had me half-expecting common to chime in with "nobody ever says i want to be a junkie when i grow up" at the end), but it's quite tight and good. very listenable and short. weezer - pinkerton yeah, i've waited this long to pick it up. listened to it once so far. seems kind of eh, but sounds like the sort of thing that takes a while to grow on you. david bowie - low afghan whigs - gentlemen tom waits - rain dogs listened to all 3 for the first time today, all very good. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2005 At Glasto I was wearing a labcoat with the lyrics to 'This Town...' on the back and some people not unlike my parents absolutely adored me for it. I finally got a copy of Pulp's This Is Hardcore, along with The Soft Boys' Nextdoorland Laibach's Anthems and The Replacements' Tim.
