5_moves_of_doom 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 oh wait... i forgot... OY! OY! OY! at the beginning of T.N.T. <-- that's just for you... Man, can't believe that I missed that one. Also, the opening bass-line of "Dazed and Confused" (as a huge Zep fan, I'D argue that Page's violin bow and solo are just as prevalent, but for most people, it's the bass line,) and the war cries that open up "The Immigrant Song." The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 The riff of "Kashmir" as well... it's just DEFINING of that song... and if "Stairway To Heaven" needs a real defining moment...it would be the first line of the EXPLOSION at the end ("and as we wind on down the road...") or... the very very last line. the first few lines of "Black Dog" just make you think of that song... it's unmistakeable EDIT: the openings of Crazy Train, Anti-Christ Superstar, We Will Rock You, & Comfortably Numb (as well as the chorus for CN)

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 The end chant of pearl jam's "black" The final goodbye of Tool's "Eulogy" Nay, the "goodbye" is good, but it's the "You claimed all this time..." part wherein the majority of the accompaniment drops out. Slick. R.E.M., "Losing My Religion," 2:57-3:03. "That was just a dream." Kills me every damn time. One of my ultimates is definitely in the Pixies' "Debaser," right after the first chorus. It wiggles.
Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Radiohead - Exit Music After the big build up, when everything drops back out until it's just the guitar, the weird crowd noise, and Thom's voice. It makes the song.

The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 In Iced Earth's "Dante's Inferno", right after the "All you sinners cry" line, when it goes into this fucking badass riffage for a minute or two. I can listen to that section 5 times in a row. It's great.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Steel Dragon's: We All Die Young. When they get to the chorus, and Zakk Wylde is wailin on the guitar, the singer raises his voice, its just amazing
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 The "if you ever said you missed me, then don't say you never lied" line just before the chorus in Jude Law And A Semester Abroad by Brand New The end of Stanislav by Liberty 37, where they play the sample of Hitler yelling at the Nuremberg Rally over a really heavy guitar part before stopping abruptly is always a jaw dropping moment. When New Noise by Refused FINALLY kicks in with "CAN I SCREAM?" The chorus to Come Back To What You Know by Embrace, when it crashes in after the build up

PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 The outro to Andrew WK's 'totally stupid' is one of the most epic, uplifting bits in any song ever. How the fuck people place 'The Wolf' below 'I Get Wet' is beyond me. The production and variation improved far more than even I was expecting.
