Guest BDC Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Yes, the bad finishing moves has been done in this folder before, but looking right now, I wondered about something. Who in the WWE would have a finisher that's seen as the most effective? Base your opinion off of whatever you want.
Highland Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Victoria's widow's peak is painful and effective, the kind of move where if she fucks it up she could seriously hurt someone. Which of course makes it cool. Brock's leg submission is by far the most realistically painful move I've seen, but it's not his primary finisher so I put the WP about it.
Nighthawk Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 You're right about Brock's submission, and I also think the F5 is about the coolest move around, and it always gets the pin. He also has a cool desperation finisher in the shooting star press, which never gets used, combining to give Brock the best finishing repetoire currently.
Guest Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 The best finisher in a kayfabe sense would be either the Stunner the Pedigree or the Tombstone. But I like the Haas of Pain.
The Amazing Rando Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Not too many guys have more than one finisher anymore... Angle, Brock, Taker (if you count the Chokeslam or that MMA choke), Kane (if you count the Tombstone), Jericho (if you count the 'Sault), and other than that...in the uppercard especially...everybody is one shot-one kill. I like the idea of guys being able to put guys out in more than one way. It's not so predictable... I think that's what makes some matches better than others... when you just don't know what each guy will do to win... It's a good reason I like Brock vs. Angle from WM last year... Angle could go for the ankle...or the back... and Brock (for the IWC at least) could finish with the F5 or the SSP... Somebody once said that when Brock used the Brocklock the first time that it was kinda taking away from his F5. He was like "I know he was saying that he wanted the person to tap out and all that...but he could have just as easily F5ed them!") ...damn marks... I like out-of-nowhere finishers as well... DDP's Diamond Cutter...HBK's Superkick to an extent...the F5 can almost come out of nowhere, same for how Benoit can lock on the crossface... as for best finisher... I say the Brock Lock... honorable mention to the Edge-ucation... I just like it.
razazteca Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 The Kurt Angle varient versions of his finishers rule. The Super Angleslam, the anklelock on the ground, or even the Moonsault. For once I want to see Austin do the Mikey Whipwreck finisher, its the same thing as a Stunner but from the top rope. RVD's midair shifting Frog Splash is sweet.
2GOLD Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I also gotta agree on the Widow's Peak, that move looks brutal.
Guest Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I sometimes wonder why people don't do their finisher's from the top, I mean a double arm DDT from the top would be pretty sweet, even though I don't think Foley could do it. What would be the most awesome finisher to be seen done from the top? I go with the F5 if it were possible.
ANKLELOCK Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 The Ankle-leg-lock is awesome. When he first added the grapevine to it at last year's Rumble, I marked out. OH yeah, And the Figure Four never gets old to me.
CanadianChick Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 My favorite is the Widow's Peak. But in kayfabe sense, the most effective has to be the Pedigree.
Guest GreatMuta Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 The RKO is going to be the next Pedigree. My favorite would have to be the old verison of the F-5
DangerousDamon Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 The RKO is going to be the next Pedigree. My favorite would have to be the old verison of the F-5 What's the old version of the F-5? Anyway, here's an interesting piece of trivia. Bryan Adams (Crush) used to do an F-5 in WcW and it only got a 1 or 2 count. I guess that proves the move only depends on the skill of the wrestler doing it.....
eiker_ir Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 of the current ones, i think the beat are: - 5 Star Frog Splash (the big impact makes it really cool, and when Rob twists in midair too) - Always liked the Sweet Chin Music - Haas of Pain - the Twist of Faith is cool depending on who takes it (Kidman selling it just looks brutal)
deancoles Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 My favorite is the Widow's Peak. But in kayfabe sense, the most effective has to be the Pedigree. I've seen guys kick out of the Pedigree,i can't remember anybody kicking out of the tombstone. Edit:Hogan may have kicked out of it at Survivo Series 91 but i'm 99% positive Undertaker was looking at Paul bearer and when he turns around Hogan is stood up behind him.
razazteca Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Is'nt the F5 a fireman's carry Diamond Cutter?

BifEverchad Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I'm a fan of: - Crippler Crossface - Widow's Peak - Sweet Chin Music - F5

Guest Jimbo Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Rock has kicked out of the Pedigree dozens of times.... Granted, it's done once a year, but Funaki's top rope Tornado Inverted DDT is pretty frickin' sweet.
EricMM Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Five star without a doubt. It gets the biggest pops. I mean I guess the stunner or the rock bottom would get more, but they don't count right now. Hey does the rock feel retired to you?
Guest JRE Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 The Sweet Chin Music rules lately- the one on Coach, and the one he finished with last night were awesome. The Brocklock is just insane...and he does the F5 from some good spots
deancoles Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Is'nt the F5 a fireman's carry Diamond Cutter? It's basically a TKO with the guy being thrown higher in the air.
eiker_ir Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 The Sweet Chin Music rules lately- the one on Coach, and the one he finished with last night were awesome. yeah, i really love it when he does it out of nowhere and just collapses on the other guy pinning him
Guest BDC Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Uh, guys, the F5 is supposed to be a firemans carry into a DDT type move. The guy never lands on top of the arm, but under it. Landing on top would be a great way to break it.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Dave likes - RKO, baby. - Rob Conway's bitch-ass screwdriver suplex - Widow's Peak. - Big Show's Final Cut Leg Drop - Big Show's Funaki Killer Right Hand Outside the WWE, Satoshi Kojima does a swank Elbow Drop
Guest Askewniverse Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 My favorites: -Widow's Peak -F5 -Brocklock -Shelton Benjamin's Dragon Whip I also liked Edge's Edgecator. I'd like to see Edge use it again when he returns. I'm also starting to like the Train Wreck.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Even though i'm not an Orton fan, I like the RKO because it's effective and comes out of nowhere (no Kick-Wham-whatever). I mark for theWGTT so I like the Haas of Pain and Benjamins super kick, and of course HBK's sweet chin music. Ultimo Dragons flip over reverse DDT thing is sweet, too bad he rarely wins matches. Sean O'Haires finisher is awesome, but I forgot the name. (help) Crippler Crossface makes the list as one of my favorite submissions, and of course Angle's Ankle look with the grapevine to prevent escape.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 .and he does the F5 from some good spots Best one ever, against Orton (I'm biased). Orton goes up top for his crossbody, flies, lands on Lesnar, who rolls through, stands up holding Orton, and cranks him into the F5, all done in one solid motion. BTW, Orton's run the gamut on swank finishers, in OVW he did a beyond-uber wheelbarrow German
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Sean O'Haires finisher is awesome, but I forgot the name. (help) The Propehcy, or The Widow Maker.
