Placebo Effect Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Matt Morgan was taken out on a stretcher at the Smackdown house show in Reading, PA earlier tonight. Morgan was involved in a match where he was teaming with Big Show & Brock Lesnar against Hardcore Holly & Billy Gunn. Morgan appeared to get hurt after a clothesline from Hardcore Holly. Morgan was unable to get up afterwards and was taken off on a stretcher. Credit: PWTorch.com I know we shouldn't place any blame until more details come around, but, you know, :cough: :cough:
SamoaRowe Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Yeah, it's not as if Holly is ultra stiff or anything... and always careful with TE kids....
Gert T Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I'm still shocked he wasn't hurt after the chair shots from Holly right when Holly returned.
Highland Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 They'll use it as yet another attempt to push Hardcore Holly yet again. Fuck.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Just for that they should force him to return to his race car gimmik.
Just John Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I'm no fan of Matt Morgan, but I hope he's alright. Now, why does Holly still have a job?
ChrisMWaters Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Just for that they should force him to return to his race car gimmik. Then have him do a Hanna-Barberra crossover. Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly meets Speed Buggy!
ChrisMWaters Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 FIRE HOLLY NOW. Um, next time be more specific in WHICH Holly, please? There ARE 2 with that last name on camera.
EdwardKnoxII Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Then have him do a Hanna-Barberra crossover. Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly meets Speed Buggy! And knowing Holly he'd be a dick and try to stiff Speed Buggy. At which point Speed Buggy would run over Holly.
Guest Fook Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 On the bright side, this could lead to that Holly/Morgan feud that we've all been clamoring for.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Then have him do a Hanna-Barberra crossover. Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly meets Speed Buggy! And knowing Holly he'd be a dick and try to stiff Speed Buggy. At which point Speed Buggy would run over Holly. Nah, Holly and Speed Buggy would be forced to team.... ...against Speed Racer and the Mach 5!
jester Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 FIRE HOLLY NOW. No, they should have Brock drop him on his head a few more times first. Then fire him. Of course, for some reason injuring people gets you pushed in WWE land....
EdwardKnoxII Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Nah, Holly and Speed Buggy would be forced to team.... ...against Speed Racer and the Mach 5! Or better yet it could be a three way dance. Holly and Speed Buggy VS Speed Racer and the Mach 5 VS....... ...Michael Knight and KITT. Knight Rider>Speed Racer>Speed Buggy>Holly.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Holly obviously goes out there with the intention of hurting someone. WWE doesn't need that.
Highland Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Knight Rider>Speed Racer>Speed Buggy>Holly. That is so true. I have to wonder how the fuck you can hurt someone so bad with a clothesline that they need to be carried out on a stretcher; and this isn't some rookie like John Heiden-whatever making a mistake, but a 10+yeard "veteran" I hope he gets some alone time in the shower with Bradshaw.
Highland Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Holly obviously goes out there with the intention of hurting someone. WWE doesn't need that. I agree. Fire him.
EdwardKnoxII Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Holly obviously goes out there with the intention of hurting someone. WWE doesn't need that. Yeah and seems lately it's been with newcomers/rookies. Brock, TE Matt, and Morgan. They only difference is that Brock did something about it. You would think that Holly would have learned his lesson after getting dropped by Brock.
Highland Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 It's the 'pay your dues' mentality that permieates the business. Mainly that newcomers need to get the shit beat out of them for them to learn their place.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Vince should hire Tank Abbot and let him and Holly go at it in a cage, see how "Hardcore" Holly feels then.
Red Baron Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 that has to be a type-o Billy Gunn didn't hurt someone?
Guest FrigidSoul Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Billy Gunn only hurts himself or ratings, nothing more
Guest Deebo Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 When did Bob Holly all of the sudden become this "tough guy" ? He's a fucking career jobber and that's all he'll ever be. Just fire his ass already and let him go injure some indy workers.
Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Anyone else bothered that Holly/Gunn was main eventing a house show?
Guest wrestlingbs Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I would not cry over Holly getting fired. Lord knows he's done enough to deserve it. I mean, Taker has screwed over people before, but at least he's had some good years.
Guest JRE Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Damn Hardcore Holly and his TE kid hatred.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Update by Dave Meltzer [email protected] Matt Morgan was released from the hospital after suffering an apparent stinger in a match tonight in Reading, PA. During a tag match, Morgan took a clothesline from Bob Holly, and didn't get up. The match stopped and Morgan still couldn't get to his feet. He was eventually taken to the hospital. At this point it doesn't appear that the injury is serious.
Nevermortal Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Vince should hire Tank Abbot and let him and Holly go at it in a cage, see how "Hardcore" Holly feels then. With the way Tank fares in the UFC, I think I'd bet on Holly.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Where's Ken Shamrock when you need him?
